BURLINGTON, MA–The Desai Foundation has joined and moved into the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI), a community of social impact leaders committed to making a better tomorrow.

“We are beyond thrilled at the opportunity to learn from so many amazing professionals,” said Megha Desai, president of Burlington, MA-based Desai Foundation. “This honor also feels like major validation in the work we are doing, and only further commits us to our mission and those we serve.”

The Desai Foundation leverages strong partners on the ground in the U.S. and India with programs spanning vocational classes, health camps, community volunteer outreach, and sanitary napkin programs.

CSI, which was established 14 years ago, has grown into a prestigious community of social entrepreneurs, nonprofits, creatives, and innovators working across sectors.

“The Centre for Social Innovation is so much more than a nonprofit co-working space.  We are a thriving community of social impact leaders committed to making a better tomorrow,” says Shireen Idroos executive director at CSI.  “CSI creates the fertile soil for socially innovative ideas to grow.  Especially in this rapidly shifting culture and society, now more than ever we need social entrepreneurs like Megha Desai and the Desai Foundation.  We are thrilled to have them as one of the newest members of the CSI Community.”

Over the course of 20 years, the Desai Foundation’s work has touched the lives of more than 350,000 people by empowering women and children through community programs to elevate health and livelihood in India and U.S with community-led efforts which build dignity throughout communities, enabling individuals to dream beyond their circumstances.

Some of their programs are around vocational training, sanitary napkins, health camps, etc. After becoming a public foundation five years ago, opportunities like being selected into CSI allow the Desai Foundation to reach new heights in their work, and with funding and grants, said Ms. Desai.
