Boys weren’t interested in me till I was 18: Sunny Leone

New Delhi–Actress Sunny Leone says she was a “geek” while growing up and so, boys weren’t really attracted to her until she was 18 years old. “I was a very academic student in college, but until college, I was an average student. But I knew business and I was fond of marketing, and all kind of geeky stuff. I was a nerd in my teenage years and didn’t have a lot of friends.”

“I also knew how to edit videos, do photoshop and lot of other things that a lot of 18- or 19-year olds don’t do… No boy was interested in me until I was 18,” Sunny said in a statement. The actress, who is currently awaiting the release of her forthcoming sex comedy movie “Mastizaade”, opened about her past in Zoom TV’s show “Yaar Mera Superstar”.

Before Sunny forayed into Bollywood, she was popular as an Indo-Canadian porn star. She was recently in news following an interview with a news channel where an anchor posed questions regarding her life as a porn star.

Aishwarya talks films, Cannes and more with French President Hollande
NEW DELHI–Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is said to have had a “hospitable” experience when she met French President François Hollande at a special luncheon here on Tuesday, looking radiant and ravishing in a red Banarasi sari.

Their conversation ranged from talking about movies to her experiences at Cannes, a guest at the lunch told IANS, adding that Hollande even made Aishwarya join him at his table.

“The French president was very warm,” the insider said. Aishwarya, who has been in the midst of shooting her new film “Sarbjit”, took out time from her busy schedule to attend the lunch, which was hosted by French Ambassador Francois Richier here.

Anil Kapoor books flat in Dubai
Dubai- Booking a two-bedroom flat in the ‘Ritz by Danube’ housing project here Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor on Tuesday sought similar investments by fellow Indians. Addressing a press conference in this populous city of the United Arab Emirates, the veteran actor was in his element as he told media persons how it was his “Sindhi” wife Sunita Kapoor who okayed the deal in Mumbai a fortnight ago.

“I am an actor and must admit that I do not have that nose to smell business, but my better half being Sindhi is apt at it” he said amid guffaws from those he was addressing. Calling Dubai his “second home” which over the years had endeared itself to him and his family, he said the “deal appeared lucrative” as real estate was set to appreciate in value in the city owing to the World Expo-2020.

The actor later told IANS that property in Mumbai was “out of reach for even the richest” and that he and his wife had a harrowing time in finding an appropriate place for their actress daughter Sonam Kapoor. ‘Ritz by Danube’ is a 300 million Dh project being planned in Al Furjan neighbourhood in Jebel Ali area that was in close proximity to Dubai south, the Dh 120 billion and 140-square km mixed use development, which will host the Al Maktoum International airport and the World Expo 2020.

No rehearsals, only spontaneity for actress Navneet Kaur Dhillon
Mumbai–Former beauty pageant winner Navneet Kaur Dhillon, who is gearing up for her Bollywood debut “Loveshhuda”, says she believes in spontaneity as an actress rather than doing rehearsals.

Navneet told IANS: “While acting, I mostly take a spontaneous approach for scenes rather than doing rehearsals… It helps me many times.” “Modelling and acting required a standard way of training and I do belong to an army family and got discipline from there, which helped me here in both the fields — modelling and Bollywood.”

Navneet, who had won the Miss World India 2013 crown, has joined the film industry without undertaking any professional acting course. “I enjoy both modelling and acting though both are extremely different from each other. Earlier, I have done a few short films that helped me to serve better now that I’m working in Bollywood. I haven’t done any other course for acting,” she added.

Talking about her role in “Loveshhuda”, she said: “I am playing a girl who is very romantic, practical, and serious about her work and business. I am proud of this film.” The film, directed by Vaibhav Mishra, is produced by Vijay Galani under the banner Galani Entertainments Ltd.

Love story is my favourite genre: Katrina Kaif
Mumbai–Actress Katrina Kaif, who will next be seen on screen in “Fitoor”, says love story is her favourite genre. “In films, love story is my favourite genre… Love stories and human drama, I think these are the most beautiful genres as they make for engaging films. It can be uplifting, sad or inspiring… but love stories connect with you.”

“I connect really well with love stories,” Katrina said here. “Fitoor” is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic novel “Great Expectations” and will have Katrina playing Firdaus, while Aditya Roy Kapur will portray the character of Noor. The actress, whose first language is English, says she works really hard on her Hindi speaking skills each time she signs a film.

“Every time, in each film, I have to work harder on my Hindi. In life, we have to accept our weaknesses and accept our strengths,” she said, adding that since English is her first language, the “emotional connect” while forming a sentence will always be in English. “Fitoor”, releasing on February 12, also stars Tabu, Aditi Rao Hydari and Lara Dutta.
