Vicky Kaushal plays ‘Banda’ from ‘Sam Bahadur’ to do sets in gym

New Delhi– National crush Vicky Kaushal, whose playlist is usually full of Punjabi music, has revealed that currently the song “Banda” from his upcoming film “Sam Bahadur” is on loop and doing sets in the gym.

Asked Vicky what’s the latest song he is jamming to, to which ‘Sam Bahadur’ director Meghna Gulzar gave an instant reply before the actor could say anything.

“‘Banda. I won’t let you say anything else. Even if you try thinking about a song but I would keep repeating this,” said the acclaimed filmmaker with a laugh.

Vicky then shared with IANS: “It’s Banda. Currently, for real it is ‘Banda’. Humaari film ka gaana hai. But genuinely not saying for the promotion of the film. But I am literally listening to that song in the gym on loop and doing sets.”

The star then said it’s currently his favourite and revealed the reason why.

“It’s an inspiring song and currently that is my favourite,” he said.

‘Sam Bahadur’ is a biographical war drama film based on the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. It also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.

The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front leading to Bangladesh’s liberation.

‘You snatched food from my hand, hit me’: Rani tells KJo

Mumbai– The upcoming episode of the streaming chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ will see two Bollywood stars Rani Mukerji and Kajol.

The two, who worked together in show host Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.

During the episode Rani reveals that KJo snatched food from her hand.

Talking to Karan, Rani Mukerji says, “You snatched food from my hand, you hit me.”

In his defence, Karan Johar says, “I didn’t hit you.”

Rani Mukerji says, “What lies!”

Fueling the fire, Kajol jokingly says, “Abuse! It was abuse.”

Reminiscing about ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and his father, Yash Johar, Karan Johar said, “I remember we were shooting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, he was outside Mehboob Studios on the road talking, and Sanjay Dutt said,’ Yash Ji, aap yahan kya kar rahe ho?’ So, he says ‘Mere bete ne set lagaya hai main road par aagaya hoon’ (Yash ji, what are you doing here. So, he says, My son has erected a set at the studios and I have come on road)”.

Boney Kapoor to grace ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’; share stage with Malaika

Mumbai– The celebrity dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ is all set to witness the first guest of this season — filmmaker Boney Kapoor.

The show features model Malaika Arora as the judge, who is currently dating actor Arjun Kapoor, son of Boney.

This is the first time Malaika will be seen sharing the same platform as Boney, after the news of the break-up rumours with Arjun had gone viral in August.

Sources told IANS: “On ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ we have Boney Kapoor today. He is the first guest of this season. This is the first time Malaika and Boney will be on the same platform.”

“The episode is going to be a celebration of Boney. The contestants will perform on the songs from his movies, some will perform on late legendary actress Sridevi’s songs, while some will perform on Janhvi Kapoor’s songs,” added the sources.

The show has also recently witnessed the eviction of actor Aamir Ali.

The season 11 have contestants — Tanishaa Mukerji, Urvashi Dholakia, Sangeeta Phogat, Shiv Thakare, Shoaib Ibrahim, Sreerama Chandra, Adrija Sinha, Anjali Anand, Karuna Pandey, Rajiv Thakur, and Vivek Dahiya.

‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ features Farah Khan, Arshad Warsi and Malaika as the judges.

The show adds a unique twist to the public personas of your favourite stars from diverse walks of life, as they take on the challenge of learning and performing intricate dance routines, all while competing for the coveted trophy.

Ayushmann Khurrana aspires to do a film on cricket: ‘Part of my bucket-list’

Mumbai– Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who is a cricket fanatic, revealed that he is keen to do a film on the game soon, adding that his cricket skills will come handy whenever it happens.

Ayushmann is best known for his works in movies like ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, ‘Article 15’, ‘Andhadhun’, among several others.

His knowledge and minute observations on cricket have been a revelation this World Cup. He had engaged with cricket fanatics from across the globe and showed that he is an avid follower of the game.

Ayushmann revealed that he was an under-19 district level cricketer in Punjab, and that he follows the sport with a lot of passion.

The 39-year-old actor is very keen to do a film on cricket soon.

He said: “Doing a film on cricket is a part of my bucket-list and I hope it gets fulfilled soon. I think my cricket skills will come really handy whenever such a film happens.”

It has been long rumoured that Ayushmann is set to essay the legendary Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in a biopic that will surely grip the nation’s attention.

On the film front, he was last seen in ‘An Action Hero’. He next has ‘Lovebirds’ in the pipeline.

Ranbir Kapoor expresses his respect for South Indian cinema

Chennai– As the ‘Animal’ team is in Chennai, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor expressed his deep respect for South Indian cinema, citing his respect for superstars such as Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay, Kamal Haasan, and Ajith.

The clip that has gone viral on social media saw Ranbir talking about Southern cinema, as well as both its craze among fans and how inspiring it is to watch these stars make dramatic entries and action scenes.

He said: “Looking at the craze for the heroes and the heroines, I think it is very inspiring to watch. As an actor you aspire for that, and when you see Rajini sir’s entry, or Thalapathy Vijay, or all the great stars like Kamal Haasan sir, or Ajith sir. You see that their audience, their fans just love them so much, and I believe that is just very inspiring to watch.”

Bobby Deol talking about the action scenes in the film said: “If you watch the film you will be amazed. The action scenes in the film are so well choreographed, there are no special effects used. It is just very raw and gritty, it is absolutely brutal. Just two animals going at it.”

Ranbir talking about the film said: “This movie is basically about an obsessive love. No kind of obsession is ever healthy and this is what it is about. The character is just someone who is deeply obsessed with his father’s love, he craves for it. There are also childhood scars which shape him, later turning him into what he is.”

Directed and written by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, among others. It will hit theatres on December 1. (IANS)
