Taapsee wants to learn pole dancing from Jacqueline

Mumbai– Actress Taapsee Pannu says she wants to learn pole dancing from her “Judwaa 2” co-star Jacqueline Fernandez.

She said this on talk show “Feet up with the Stars Season 2”, presented by Voot Originals and hosted by celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, read a statement.

Asked what would she do if Jacqueline was her neighbour, Taapsee said: “I think we’ll be working out together, she works out really crazy.” “I don’t mind learning pole dancing from her. I know I’ll be horrible at it but I really want to work out with her,” she added.

The actress wants to be filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s best friend. “I want to be his best friend and tag along to fancy Hollywood parties. It is my ultimate desire to attend Hollywood parties,” she said.

Taapsee worked with Kashyap in “Manmarziyaan” and is working with him again in a supernatural thriller.

At the moment, Taapsee is busy with “Saand Ki Aankh”, which also features Bhumi Pednekar. It is based on old sharpshooters — Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar.

Diljit unveils his wax figure at Madame Tussauds Delhi

New Delhi– Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh on Thursday unveiled his Madame Tussauds’ wax figure.

A die-hard fan of reality TV star Kylie Jenner, Diljit wants her wax figure too, should find a spot in the iconic Regal Building at Connaught Place here.

The “Udta Punjab” star has said in the past, he wanted to visit Madame Tussauds in London, but could not.

“There was a long line. I was in London for a day so couldn’t find the time. I tried again but the attempts were not successful. “Then I thought,” he said, “I will go in like this only.” And now the singer’s wax replica has indeed entered the museum.

He acted pleasantly surprised by the strong resemblance between him and his wax figure, which sports black and red casuals with a huge neck piece and a black turban.

It is the first turbaned figure in Madame Tussauds Delhi.

Dubai– As superstar Shah Rukh Khan reaches the final leg of his mysterious journey traversing through the magnificently adventerous locales of Dubai solving puzzles and riddles unravelling the unknown he realises he has come to know the city like his own, there is a “feeling of belongingness”.

The 53-year-old superstar has been featuring in a series of videos that are part of a promotional campaign for Dubai Tourism’s #BeMyGuest campaign.

The minute-long video starts with a flashback of the riddles he has already solved to get the three hidden coins in Dubai, which lead him to a final clue.

As he solves the cryptic message, Shah Rukh has to “go back in time” to understand the meaning of the coins.

The final video discloses that the coins mean: “Be my guest”, as is explained by his host Saif, a sheikh.

‘Kesari’ enters Rs 100 crore club

Mumbai– Akshay Kumar-starrer “Kesari”, based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi, has registered business of over Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office since its release on March 21.

According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “Kesari” has become the fastest Rs 100 crore grosser of 2019.

He tweeted: “‘Kesari’ … crosses Rs 100 crore on Day 7 … Thursday Rs 21.06 crore, Friday Rs 16.75 crore, Saturday Rs 18.75 crore, Sunday Rs 21.51 crore, Monday Rs 8.25 crore, Tuesday Rs 7.17 crore, Wednesday Rs 6.52 crore. Total: Rs 100.01 crore (India business).”

The movie, backed by Dharma Productions, depicts the bravery of 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikh Regiment (now the 4th Battalion of Sikh Regiment) of British India defending an Army post against more than 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen.

Akshay expressed his happiness with a tweet: “It’s been overwhelming, this journey of ‘Kesari’ and your love.”

Theatre is a great leveller, says Shabana Azmi

Mumbai– Veteran actress Shabana Azmi says theatre is a great leveller because it eschews hierarchy.

Shabana has performed in theatre shows like “Safed Kundali” and “Tumhari Amrita” along with veteran Farooq Sheikh. She has been acclaimed with several National Awards for her acting skills.

“I consider myself a film actor but have found working in theatre very rewarding. Playing the lead at National Theatre London for Tanika Gupta’s ‘The Waiting Room’ was so humbling. Walking to work doing my own laundry. Theatre is a great leveller because it eschews hierarchy,” Shabana tweeted on the occasion of the World Theatre Day on March 27.

Shabana’s parents are Kaifi Azmi, an Indian poet and Shaukat Azmi, a veteran Indian People’s Theatre Association stage actress.

Bhuvan Bam to team up with Karan Johar

Mumbai– Digital star Bhuvan Bam and Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar will engage in a live chat at the YouTube Fan Fest.

Performing as his famous “BB Ki Vines” character ‘Titu Mama’, Bhuvan will be initiating a live ‘Titu Talks’ version with Karan at the fest.

The act is set to play out for around 15 minutes and they are likely to discuss some trending topics, read a statement.

Bhuvan’s first episode of “Titu Talks” was shot with Shah Rukh Khan and it was followed up by a chat with Johnny Sins.

This is the first time Bhuvan’s brainchild Titu Mama will be live on stage with his YouTube property “Titu Talks”.

Fanboy Ali Fazal, Phelps exchange fitness tips

New Delhi– Actor Ali Fazal says meeting the most successful and most decorated Olympian Michael Phelps here was a huge fanboy moment for him. The two even exchanged fitness tips.

Ali, who has been working on his fitness under trainer Mustafa Ahmed, attended a training session with the US swimmer here on Wednesday.

“It doesn’t get any bigger than Michael Phelps. The man’s a legend and achieved tons in his career. Twenty eight medals from one single athlete is no short of legendary,” Ali said in a statement.

“When Mustafa told me about this opportunity, I didn’t even have to think twice. It’s a great opportunity and to train with someone who’s a fitness inspiration for so many…”

Meeting Phelps was a “huge fanboy moment” for Ali. (IANS)
