Sharing an old childhood photograph from one of her train journeys, Sonam took to social media and wrote: “There’s something very unique about train journeys. From passing sceneries to sharing meals and having a sense of community, I really miss taking the train sometimes – our very own version of a family road trip.”

In the image, the “Neerja” actress is seen posing while lying on the upper berth of a train.

Sonam even made her husband Anand Ahuja nostalgic as he then shared his favourite train moment too.

“I also love trains…Let’s go na, soon? The last time I went by rail was to Rishikesh but my most memorable one was to Bandhavgarh…Some 14-hour long trip with 40 classmates,” Anand commented on Sonam’s photograph.

The couple got married in May last year.

Sonam recently turned 34 and hosted a grand party for her family and friends from the film industry. On the work front, she is gearing up for the release of “The Zoya Factor”.

Aamir’s daughter Ira confirms who she’s dating

Mumbai– Superstar Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan has confirmed that she is dating music composer Mishaal Kirpalani.

Ira, 22, recently took to Instagram stories and had an ‘Ask me anything’ session with her followers.

She was asked by a follower if she is dating anyone. Responding to the same, Ira uploaded a photograph in which she is hugging musician Mishaal and tagged him in it.

There are other photographs of the couple on her Instagram page as well. They can be seen sharing smiles and hugs, and in one picture, Mishaal is even seen kissing Ira on the forehead.

Mishaal, an artiste, producer and composer, has also shared several photographs with Ira on his Instagram account. In one of the posts, he has called Ira a “charmer”.

Ira is Aamir’s daughter with his first wife Reena Dutta, with whom he also has a son named Junaid.

On Karan Johar’s chat show, Aamir had shared that Ira is keen to enter the film industry.

Criticism pinches, says Katrina Kaif

Mumbai– “Bharat” actress Katrina Kaif, who has been lauded for her evolution as an artiste, believes in being detached from the end result and to keep working on her craft to be better with every film.

Katrina Kaif

“If I am too attached to the end result, the focus is not on the process. If the focus is not on the process, the end result cannot be achieved. Of course, praises make me feel good and criticism pinches, but that law cannot be changed,” said the actress.

After last year’s “Zero” in which Katrina’s work was applauded, “Bharat” has elicited a positive word for her acting skills.

Talking about the new phase of her career where she is doing the balancing act of keeping everyone — audience and critics — happy, Katrina said, “I have been hearing this for some time, especially during the promotion of ‘Bharat’.

“Thus, I went online and looked at the reviews of my initial days. I actually got some positive reviews for films like ‘Namastey London’, ‘New York’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. In between some films didn’t do well, which made people start talking about that bad phase.”

Katrina, 35, was appreciated for the film “Sarkar” in 2005 and bagged awards for movies like “Raajneeti”, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Raajneeti” and “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”.

“That’s when I realised I have to continuously do well to maintain that good phase. Of course, there will be bad phases and that are only natural. There is no actor who can claim that all his/her films are doing well. It comes for everyone, we all have our highs and lows.

“When we have lows, they stick for a while. When we have highs, they stick for a while too. In lows, I have to have the tough skin, introspect what am I doing, how to make it better. When the great phase comes, people acknowledge my performance. Then also I have to see what have I done right, without getting too attached to the end result.”

I’m a big animal lover: Sanaya Irani

Mumbai– Actress Sanaya Irani, who is passionate about animals and animal welfare, says Indian cinema should make space for wildlife content.

At a screening of Sony BBC Earth’s internationally acclaimed wildlife series “Dynasties” here, Sanaya said: “Firstly, I am a big animal lover and get very excited around animals. The makers have spent so much time in making this series, I think it is wonderful. Indian cinema should make space for such wildlife content, for the balance of the whole system.

“It is important to have awareness regarding animals, forests and everything related to the environment.”

Her husband and actor Mohit Sehgal says he has become an animal lover because of Sanaya.

“After we both started living together, we even got a pet dog. I can say I have become an animal person now. Whenever we go out for vacations, we always make sure we visit zoos or explore the wildlife wherever possible,” he said.

“Dynasties” will premiere in India on June 17 on Sony BBC Earth.

Actor Karan Kundra says he has always been a fan of content related to wildlife.

“That’s why Anusha (Anusha Dandekar) and I are here for the special screening. The makers have worked really hard on ‘Dynasties’, nearly three years, and that alone makes me want to look forward to it. Anusha and I have visited Africa only to be with nature and explore wildlife,” he said.

To this, Anusha added: “Not many know, but I really support initiatives for saving our planet and I believe we should do it before it’s too late. We have joined a clean-up in collaboration with Adidas. Knowing that plastic is a huge issue, saving our animals and our environment is very important. And now we are at a point when, wherever we can help or be a part in saving our earth, we hope to do so.”

Actress Zareen Khan called “Dynasties” an emotional roller-coaster as “it was a story of survival and how everybody is doing their bit to survive in the harshest situations.”

Mithila feels curly hair has got her lot of attention

New Delhi– Actress Mithila Palkar loves her curls and feels that her curly hair has got her a lot of attention.

There are just handful of actresses in Bollywood with curly hair. Sometimes they need to straighten their hair or cut it short for films.

Asked if she ever lost out on a role because of her hair type, Mithila told IANS via email: “Never. In fact, most directors I have worked with have vehemently opposed the notion of getting my hair straightened as well.”

“So, in a way I feel my curly hair has got me a lot of attention and I don’t mind it. I love the fact that my hair has a life of its own,” added the “Karwaan” actress.

Though she loves her hair and the way it looks, if there is a scenario where the role really demands a certain look, “I have no apprehension over cutting my hair”.

For its maintenance, she says grandma’s secrets are the best.

“She (grandmother) would always advise me to oil my hair regularly as it provides the necessary nourishment. I honestly believe that nourishment comes before styling, so nothing beats a good old hot oil ‘champi’.

“Having said that, since each of us have different hair and style preferences, the choice of hair products is critical. Make an informed selection of what really works for your hair,” added the brand ambassador for Livon.

Humidity, Mumbai’s monsoon can be crazy and take a toll on hair.

“With the amount of planned and unplanned travel I have, it is critical for me to treat my curls right on a daily basis. There are days when a shampoo/wash leaves my hair almost unmanageable, that’s when a few drops of Livon serum do their magic in a few seconds,” she said.

Karan a step ahead of ‘impossible’ in ‘Kasautii…’

Ekta posted a short video that features Karan in a salt and pepper look and performing a death-defying stunt for the promo of the show “Kasautii Zindagii Kay”.

“Introducing Mr Bajaj,” Ekta captioned it on Instagram.

Actor Ronit Roy, who originally played the role in “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” that ran from 2001 to 2008, commented: “All the best to Mr. Bajaj from Mr. Bajaj.”

The video was also shared on Twitter on behalf of channel StarPlus. The caption read: “He is fearless, bold and a business tycoon. And his next prey? Basu Industries! Introducing Mr. Rishabh Bajaj. #KasautiiZindagiiKay.”

He will be introduced in the one-hour special episode of the show on StarPlus and Hotstar on June 17.

While Ronit looked suave and polished in the original show, Karan seems to be all that and more fearless as he says “I set my own targets. One step ahead of impossible” in the promo.

Of his role, Karan told IANS: “Firstly, let me say that no one in our industry can play the way Ronit Roy played Mr. Bajaj earlier and I do not even dare to touch that. That is a different level of iconic performance, holds a value and no one can match up to that…it would be stupid of me to copy it or anything like that.

“Having said that, I know there is a fan base of Mr. Bajaj as well as my fans… so the comparison is inevitable and I am waiting for that to happen.” (IANS)
