Sharing his experience of working with Kangana for the first time in “Judgemental Hai Kya”, Prakash said, “it was fantastic working with Kangana. I come from a theatre background. I like if my actor is asking questions and having a creative discussion with me.”

“I think taking her inputs, giving my inputs is healthy, together we can make a better film. She is a thinking actor and that is wonderful,” he added.

Prakash was addressing journalists during the trailer launch of the film.

The story of the film is based on a murder and how a young man “Keshav”, played by Rajkummar Rao and mentally ill girl “Bobby”, played by Kangana are involved in it.

The film also features Brijendra Kala, Jimmy Shergill, Amyra Dastur among others.

Prakash, a filmmaker from the south cinema, on being asked if he will be able to cater to the Hindi film audience, said, “well I think telling the story is a personal expression. Some people will like, some might not, but the job of a storyteller is to tell the story honestly.”

“And I am confident that a large audience will like this movie,” he said.

“Judgemental Hai Kya” will release on July 26.

Love from fans makes me confident: Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai– National award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut, who is gearing up for her upcoming release “Judgemental Hai Kya”, says that despite having faced constant criticism from the film fraternity, she feels confident and empowered as the audience love her acting and always shower love on her.

“I think the way people, I mean audience love me that empowers me. The way my fans love my acting, my personality it gives me confidence. Industry wale jaye tel lene (let the film industry go to hell)…People’s love empowers me. I am really humbled,” said Kangana while talking about the criticism she faced from the film industry.

Kangana was addressing media persons during the trailer launch of her upcoming film.

The actress was accompanied by screenplay writer of the film Kanika Dhillon, director Prakash Kovelamudi among others. Due to heavy rain, lead actor Rajkummar Rao could not attend the event.

According to Kangana, the story of “Judgmental Hai Kya” is not a sob story of a female protagonist who is suffering from a mental condition.

“I think the revolution in the mainstream cinema came from “Tanu Weds Manu”, wherein a heroine is shown in a real way. Tanu knows how to play around with boys but she is not a vamp,” said Kangana.

“In the same way, Bobby, in this film, is going through mental illness but she is not sitting in a corner and sobbing about it,” she added.

Talking about Kangana’s character in the film, Kanika Dhillon said, “honestly, because of Kangana’s outspoken nature, I do not think there is any other actress in the industry that could have pulled off the character the way she did.”

Kangana noted, “There was a phase in my life when people openly tried to shame me and said that I was mad, I was on medication. Even though I wasn’t, I replied to them: “so what?” I would not have felt ashamed even if I were on medication.”

“However, when Kanika narrated the script to me, I felt more compassionate towards the character because the society also calls “Bobby” a mad girl. it became more relatable for me. Honestly, I am ok with things that people say,” said the “Queen” actress.

I enjoy spending time in kitchen: Rishina Kandhari

Mumbai– “Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein” actress Rishina Kandhari says she enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking.

The team of Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show, “Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein”, shot for its second promo recently. In the promo, the whole family and people from the neighbourhood get-together to celebrate Yogi’s (actor Mudit Nayar) birthday.

To make this celebration an interesting one, Rishina took over the kitchen and wore the chef’s hat. The actress, who is playing the role of Yogi’s elder sister-in-law in the show, baked muffins for everyone on the set.

“Cooking is one of my hobbies and I enjoy spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. I usually experiment with different cuisines and try to make up some new dish,” Rishina said in a statement.

“While we were in a mood for celebration, I proposed to bake muffins for Yogi’s birthday celebration. I woke up quite early in the morning to bake the dessert which had the least amount of calories and was actually quite healthy. Even Salman’s film was titled ‘Mental’: Kangana

Mumbai– Actress Kangana Ranaut says the change in title for her upcoming film “Judgmental Hai Kya?”, which was earlier called “Mental Hai Kya”, is a result of nepotism and power play in the Hindi film industry.

Commenting on the movie’s title change, Kangana told the media here: “I think whenever it is anything to do with Kangana Ranaut, people have a problem with it. Since I am an outsider, even if I breathe, people have a problem. But we outsiders also have learnt to make our way without creating a problem. Even (one of) Salman Khan’s film which was a remake of a south Indian film, was named Mental’.

“There was no problem then, but now we are told that very recently, the word mental’ is banned, so we did not have that much choice. But we truly believe that we have made a good film. Our film has got a U/A certificate. We have faith in our intentions. A small change of the title will not make a difference.”

The “Mental Hai Kya” title drew the ire of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) which complained to the censor board that the usage of the word mental’ trivialized mental health issues. The title was later changed.

Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, the film also features Rajkummar Rao, Brijendra Kala, Jimmy Sheirgill and Amyra Dastur. It is releasing on July 26. (IANS)
