“‘Dhaakad’ is an action film and it is (a) big film. For us, it’s like venturing into a genre that is absolutely missing in Hindi films. It is something of a thriller — intriguing and more of like a spy thriller. In the film, my name is Agni. I play a spy,” Kangana told IANS.

The project is helmed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai.

The makers are looking to rope in a leading action director from Hollywood to choreograph the elaborate sequences.

Filming will take place across India, South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Right now, Kangana is gearing up for the release of “JudgeMentall Hai Kya”, which opens on Friday.

Katrina Kaif

“When I entered the industry I knew I had to put in a lot of hard work to get where I am today,” Katrina said.

Despite a dud debut in the 2003 crossover film “Boom”, Katrina made her mark with her distinct screen presence in films such as “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya”, “Namastey London”, “Singh Is Kinng”, “New York”, “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan”, “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, “Tiger Zinda Hai”, “Zero” and “Bharat”.

Fans loved her performances in “Zero” and “Bharat”, particularly.

“‘Zero’, according to me, is a film that encourages people to look beyond what holds them back and live a fulfilling life that they always dreamt of. I consider this film close to me because it talks about the passion that everyone should have in their life,” she added.

Gaurav of “Kaay Re Rascalaa” fame is happy that Trauma Society of India has given them this opportunity.

It is followed by a photo featuring AbRam and SRK trying out water snorkeling. The third one shows the superstar’s daughter Suhana looking at the camera with a beautiful beach backdrop. Finally, the husband and wife duo of SRK and Gauri poses for the camera.

I’ve been framed: Koena Mitra on six-month jail term

New Delhi– Bollywood actress Koena Mitra has been sentenced to six months in prison, in a cheque-bouncing case. The actress says she has been framed, adding that she will challenge the order in a higher court.

The case was registered against Koena in accordance with a complaint lodged by model Poonam Sethi in 2013. Following this, Koena was asked to pay Rs 4.64 lakh, of which Rs 1.64 lakh was interest component, to complainant Sethi.

“It is a court matter, so obviously we will go to the higher court to challenge the order. The higher court will give us an order (and) only then can we talk about it. Right now, I don’t have anything to say except that it’s a fraud case and I am being framed,” Koena told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Sethi’s complaint states that Koena had, over time, borrowed Rs 22 lakh from her. When the actress gave Sethi a cheque of three lakh rupees as part of the repayment, it bounced, reportedly for ‘want of funds’.

At the Andheri Metropolitan court in Mumbai, Magistrate Ketaki Chavan rejected Koena’s arguments, which included her claim that Sethi could not afford to lend her Rs 22 lakh.

Koena said that her lawyer wasn’t present in the court during the final argument, so the order was passed without her side of the argument being presented. She added that her lawyers are currently working on a challenge plea.

“My advocate has to appear for the final argument, too, and the magistrate didn’t give me a chance. We will challenge this order in the higher court,” said Koena.

Rajpal Yadav joins cast of ‘Coolie No. 1’ remake

Mumbai– Actor Rajpal Yadav has joined the cast of David Dhawan’s remake of “Coolie No. 1”, which also stars the director’s son Varun Dhawan with Sara Ali Khan.

“I’m thankful to David Dhawan sir and Varun for giving an opportunity to be a part of ‘Coolie No. 1’ remake. This is the third time that I’m acting with Varun. I am really excited about this remake,” Rajpal said.

The two actors had earlier worked on “Judwaa 2” and “Main Tera Hero”. Both films were helmed by David Dhawan.

“Ram Gopal Varmaji’s ‘Jungle’ established me as an actor, Priyadarshan sir’s ‘Hungama’ made me popular, and David sir re-established me with ‘Judwaa 2’. So, I’m grateful for this opportunity,” said Rajpal.

The actor, widely known for his comic skills, will be also seen in “Bole Chudiyan”, “Jaako Raakhe Saaiyan” and “Maavan”.

I have a flexible image: Adah Sharma

Mumbai– From playing the possessed woman in her debut film “1920”, to a police inspector in “Commando 2”, Adah Sharma has tried a few varied shades in her roles. Her tryst with different roles continues in her upcoming film, “Man To Man”, where she plays a man who has undergone sex change to become a woman.

“I play a man who becomes a woman after sex reassignment surgery in ‘Man To Man’. It is a love story. I have received messages from the LGBTQ+ community saying they are happy that I am doing the role. I hope I have justified the opportunity. The roles so far I have got are different from who I am in real life,” said the actress.

Adah experiments not only with her roles but also her looks. Her experimentation with looks in the past has included tri-colour hair and wearing a dress with newspaper print motif. “Whether it is in South Indian films or in Hindi films, my fans expect me to do something different. I tend to do performance-oriented roles, and fans’ people’s expectations have given me the confidence to experiment,” Adah told IANS. (IANS)
