Did you think I was going in forever: Salman on blackbuck poaching case

Mumbai– Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is gearing up for “Race 3”, was asked if he was worried about the money riding on him while he was caught up with the court proceedings in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. He counter-questioned: “Did you think I was going to go in forever?”

During the trailer launch of the multi-starrer action film here on Tuesday, a journalist asked Salman if he was concerned about the Jodhpur blackbuck verdict which came just after the last schedule of “Race 3” where a huge amount of money was riding on him.

Even before the journalist finished asking the question, the anchor of the function interrupted, saying no questions on the Jodhpur case and the Karnataka election will be entertained and told the journalist to return the microphone.

Meanwhile, Salman asked the journalist: “Did you think I was going to go in forever?”

As the journalist replied “No”, Salman promptly said: “Thank you, because I was not worried.”

Salman was accused of hunting and killing blackbucks in Rajasthan in 1998 when he was filming for “Hum Saath Saath Hain”. He was convicted and spent two days in prison before being released on bail.

The trailer launch was attended by other actors of the film like Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem along with director Remo D’ Souza and producer Ramesh Turani.

“Race 3” is slated to release on June 15.

‘Race 3’ is action-music bonanza: Salman Khan

Mumbai– Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who is all set for his upcoming multi-starrer action film “Race 3” on Tuesday said the film offers good music, action and people will have a good time watching the film.

The actor, who was present at the trailer launch of the film, told the media: “Like the kind of film used to happen earlier, this film is like that. This film has a vibe that earlier Bachchan saab, Dharmendraji used to do.”

He said: “I heard the script of the film two years ago. After that Ramesh Taurani wanted me to listen to the improved script again. It was a difficult genre for me to do, I wanted few changes. I knew the genre of the film but I did not know where I will fit in the genre.

“Then Rameshji and Shiraz Ahmed, screenplay writer of the film, sat on the script and re-worked on it. Then I realized that it is actually a fun film to do.”

The film features actors like Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Salim, Bobby Deol among others.

Directed by Remo D’Souza, the 3D action film “Race 3” is releasing on June 15.

Salman Khan condemns child abuse and sexual harassment

Mumbai– Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Tuesday said people need to stand up against barbaric incidents like the Kathua and Unnao rape and murder.

The actor who was present at the trailer launch of his upcoming film “Race 3” was asked about his opinion on the recent incidents of child abuse and harassment that has taken place.

“I think whatever is happening with children is wrong. I think we should stand on this and get this stopped,” Salman told the media.

The film “Race 3” is releasing on June 15.

I’ve no time for abuse: Amitabh Bachchan

Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he has no time to attend to abuses or trolls as he would rather spend time for work and his fans, whom he refers to as his “extended family (Ef)”.

The cine-icon, 75, shares his thoughts on trolling and abuses on his blog.

“A concerned Ef warns me of extensive ‘trolls’ on the platforms and warns me to be discreet and attentive to what I may say on social media, for the ugliness of the disreputable, affects him, and he urges me to be of care,” he wrote.

The “102 Not Out” star says he is aware about it, but chooses to avoid it.

“Yes, I care. Yes, I know of the abuse and yes, I wish they be of greater intensity towards me for then it forms an unattainable mindset for even greater achieving attention given to such translates into what the troller actually wanted – notice,” he added.

The thespian says trolls provoke him to do better.

“I have no time for abuse… I have time for my work, for my Ef and this Blog… I do not have time to attend to abuse. I love it actually, for it provokes me to betterment. (It) provokes me to get bigger and vastly improve my self, my demeanour, my standing and my dignity,” he added.

Dating can be a tough game: Actor Parth Samthaan

Mumbai– Actor Parth Samthaan, who features in web series “Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan 3”, says dating can be a tough game in the age of the millenials.

The show, featuring Parth Samthaan and Niti Taylor, will stream on VOOT from Tuesday. Together, they will explore new-age relationship hacks and to find out if in this age of ‘instalove’ and right swipes, are they meant to be together.

Parth, who portrays Manik, said in a statement: “Dating can be a tough game that can burn out even the best of us and ‘Kaisi Yeh…’ highlights what it takes to be in love in this age of the millennials.

“Exploring the complexities of relationships — be it with your friends, your lover or your family, this season with its bolder and edgier concept promises to leave you enthralled.”

Niti, who essays Nandini, added: “I believe the narrative of this season focuses on the youth and their problems, but with a slice-of-life approach, which is sure to resonate with the audiences.”

Jackie Shroff-starrer to release on August 10

Mumbai– “Life is Good”, starring actor Jackie Shroff, will release on August 10, the film’s makers announced on Tuesday.

It delves into a subject which explores the relationship between Jackie’s character and a six-year-old girl who suddenly comes into his life and ends up changing his outlook towards everything.

Presented by Jayantilal Gada and Anand Shukla, “Life is Good” also stars Suneeta Sengupta, Darshan Jariwala and Mohan Kapur.

It will clash with Irrfan Khan-starrer “Karwaan”, which will also hit the screens on the same day.

Meanwhile, Jackie has been roped in for the Indian adaptation of the British television drama series “Criminal Justice”. It will be helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Shraddha Kapoor to endorse bag, accessory brand

Mumbai– Actress Shraddha Kapoor has been announced as the brand ambassador of bag and accessory brand Baggit.

In her new role as the brand ambassador, Shraddha will be associated with the brand for the years 2018 and 2019.

The association drive towards staying on point with the expectations of today’s young millennials and yet retaining relevance with its existing customer base.

Mumbai– Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor wished actress Madhuri Dixit Nene on her 51st birthday on Tuesday, hoping she has a year full of happiness.

Madhuri ventured into Hindi cinema in 1984 with “Abodh” directed by Hiten Nag and received wider public recognition with the 1988 film “Tezaab”.

She established herself as a leading actress of Bollywood with films like “Ram Lakhan”, “Parinda”, “Dil”, “Saajan”, “Beta”, “Khalnayak”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun!”, “Dil To Pagal Hai” and “Devdas”.

The actress was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2008 for her contribution to Indian cinema.

Anushka cheers for Virat from ‘Zero’ set

Mumbai– Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma cheered for her husband and star skipper Virat Kohli, who is currently busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL), while she was on the set of her film “Zero”.

Anushka on Monday encouraged Virat and his IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who were playing against Kings XI Punjab at the Holkar stadium in Indore.

The “PK” actress posted a string of photographs of herself from the sets of her upcoming film “Zero”. In a few images, she is seen watching the IPL match and later posted a photograph of herself in an olive green T-shirt which had Virat Kohli and the number 18 written on the back. She paired it with black pants.

“Come on boys,” Anushka, who married Virat in Italy in December, captioned the image.

RCB trounced Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets in the match on Monday.
