Playing over-the-top guy was therapeutic: Ranvir

Mumbai– Playing an over-the-top character in a new web show was actually a therapeutic experience for him, conceded actor Ranvir Shorey.

Ranvir was referring to his role of Prem Chopra, an over-the-top field sales representative in the Hotstar show “The Office”. Its protagonist has a tendency to over-share information that no one wants to hear.

“‘The Office’ has relatable characters and is based in a relatable environment. People might have strong views about Prem Chopra, but playing the character was therapy for me. I would go on the set and just let out the worst in me,” Ranvir said.

“The Office” is an official adaptation of the international series by the same name. The 13-episode mockumentary chronicles the nine-to-five lives of employees at a fictional organisation named Wilkins Chawla as they navigate through their mundane routine that invariably gives rise to comical situations.

The ensemble cast also includes Mukul Chadda, Gauahar Khan and Gopal Dutt.

Aditi Govitrikar brings ‘Mr. India’ to 2019

Mumbai– Actress Aditi Govitrikar features in the recreation of the song “Zindagi ki yehi reet hai” from the 1987 superhit, “Mr. India”.

“It’s the same song that was in ‘Mr. India’, which was picturised on Anil Kapoor. We have reshot the song. The experience of recreating the song was unique because it’s the first time that I have acted in a song that was always a hit,” Aditi said.

“It was also a great experience because I had these two beautiful twin girls with me, Sky and Samar, and they were absolutely delightful. We had to do a lot of activities and we had a blast doing it. The song was shot in the beautiful location of Panchgani. Overall it was a great experience,” she added.

The actress, who has featured in movies such as “Bheja Fry 2” and “16 December”, will be soon seen in “Koi Jaane Na”.

‘Arjun Reddy’ star returns to familiar action zone

Hyderabad– Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda, whose blockbuster romantic melodrama “Arjun Reddy” inspired Shahid Kapoor’s “Kabir Singh”, returned to the action avatar with his upcoming multi-lingual biggie, “Dear Comrade”.

The actor admitted feeling “super emotional”, while sharing the film’s trailer on social media on Thursday.

“Feeling super emotional sharing this one with the world. We put our everything in this one. It’s (heart emoji). Comrades, it’s yours now,” Vijay tweeted.

Going by the trailer, which is just over three minutes long, the actor returned to the familiar angry young man avatar with this film. He is seen banging a phone in a booth and bashing up villains with characteristic elan, and also locking lips with co-star Rashmika Mandanna in the film directed by Bharat Kamma.

Last month, Vijay posted the video of “The canteen song” from the film.

“Best friends, folk beats, a college canteen… and a three-minute long dance like no one’s watching,” he had captioned it.

Considering Vijay’s growing popularity down South, the film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on July 26.

I’m not afraid of being judged: Sameera Reddy

Mumbai– Actress Sameera Reddy has shared her “imperfectly perfect” no make-up look and says she is not afraid of being judged anymore.

Sameera on Wednesday shared a video of her “real” self” and captioned it: “This is the real me! Almost ready to pop! I know I’ll bounce back and im not afraid of being judged. I wanted to share how I looked without make-up and my morning face…

“And how it’s important for me to celebrate it! Imperfectly perfect… Thank you Namrata Soni you’ve been amazing.”

In an interview to IANS in April, the actress, who is expecting her second baby soon, said her first pregnancy left her feeling torn between the reality and pressure to portray an “unreal life” as a celebrity.

Sameera, whose last big screen outing was in 2012 with the film “Tezz”, married businessman Akshai Varde in 2014. She delivered her first born, a son in 2015.

She has featured in films such as “Race”, “Taxi No 9211”, “Maine Dil Tujhko Diya” and “De Dana Dan” among others.

Shah Rukh tweeted the promotional video of the Hindi version of Disney’s live-action film, where Aryan is heard introducing himself as Simba, son of Mufasa.

“Mera Simba,” Shah Rukh, who will be voicing Mufasa, captioned the image.

The 53-year-old star’s close friend and filmmaker Karan Johar tweeted that he got excited hearing Aaryan’s voice.

“Pardon my excitement! But Aryan is the firstborn in our family! And even just hearing his voice has made me so so excited! And without a bias he sounds amazing,” Karan tweeted.

“The Lion King” follows the adventures of Simba, who is to succeed his father Mufasa, as King of the Pride Lands, and narrates a tale of how he rises up to the occasion despite several attempts to bring him down by his villainous uncle Scar.

“The Jungle Book” fame director Jon Favreau has re-imagined the world of Disney’s classic to bring alive the new live-action version. He has stayed true to the classic story of Simba and used pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring the iconic characters alive on the big screen in a new way.

The film will release in India on July 19 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. (IANS)
