Rannvijay to play policeman in new web series

Mumbai– Actor-anchor Rannvijay Singha will be seen as a tough police officer in a new web-series titled “Kaushiki” on Viu.

“Not a stranger to the digital space, the ‘Roadies’ veteran will be adding a layer of mystery and excitement by portraying the role of a tough cop on the show,” a statement said.

The show is described as a gripping thriller about how things go horribly wrong between a group of friends, and how their relationship is tested thereafter.

Its shoot is already on in full swing.

Salman Khan wishes luck to Zareen Khan for ‘1921’

Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khan has wished good luck to actress Zareen Khan for her latest film “1921”.

“All the best Zareen Khan for ‘1921’. You are looking very pretty, but the trailer is scary,” Salman tweeted on Friday, urging his Twitter followers to watch the Vikram Bhatt directorial.

Zareen, who is essaying the role of a ghost-whisperer in the horror film, made her debut in Bollywood alongside Salman in the film “Veer” and shared screen space with the “Dabangg” star in “Ready”.

“1921”, shot in London, revolves around the lead characters, played by Zareen and actor Karan Kundra. They deal with their dark pasts and secrets to secure their present and future. It is about a struggle between life and death.

The film, which also stars Angela Krislinzki, released on Friday.

Anupam congratulates ‘The Big Sick’ team

Mumbai– Veteran actor Anupam Kher has congratulated the entire cast and crew of his film “The Big Sick”, which bagged the Best Comedy film at the Critics Choice Award.

“Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of ‘The Big Sick’ for winning the Best Comedy at the Critics Choice Awards. Jai Ho,” Anupam tweeted on Friday.

“The Big Sick” is a romantic comedy directed by Michael Showalter. It stars Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, Ray Romano and Adeel Akhtar apart from Anupam.

The film is loosely based on the real-life romance between Nanjiani and Gordon. It follows an interracial couple who must deal with cultural differences after Emily (played by Kazan in the film) becomes ill.

The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2017.

Salman Yusuf Khan choreographs ‘Bigg Boss’ finale acts

Mumbai– Choreographer-actor Salman Yusuff Khan says he is enjoying the entire process of choreographing the acts for “Bigg Boss 11” finale.

“‘Bigg Boss’ is a huge platform and I am enjoying the entire process of choreographing the act for Season 11 finale. I have worked really hard in the ideation part and, with the help of all the contestants in the house, we are surely going to entertain the audience,” Salman said in a statement.

“I have followed the entire season to incorporate the mannerism of each contestant and their characteristics and equation with each other. It’s a great feeling that people are looking forward to it,” he added.

Hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, the show “Bigg Boss 11” is aired on Colors TV. The top four include Hina Khan, Vikas Gupta, Puneesh Sharma and Shilpa Shinde. The finale will air on Sunday.

Evicted contestants like Arshi Khan, Hiten Tejwani, Luv Tyagi and Priyank Sharma will be coming back to perform in the finale episode. (IANS)
