Rakul Preet Singh says tax search was not connected to her

In a social media statement Monday, Singh criticized reports she said were published without proper verification.
“The search was not pertaining to me,” she said, adding that she has paid taxes since the age of 20 and has built her career through “sheer hard work.”
Singh also denied involvement in illegal foreign remittances or holding benami property in India or abroad. She said she had never accepted expensive property gifts.
“I urge all those who published these false, malicious and speculative reports to retract them and clarify the facts,” she said.
Several online reports had claimed that income tax officials searched multiple locations allegedly connected to Singh, her father-in-law and film producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios in Mumbai.
The reports said searches were conducted at 12 locations as part of an investigation into suspected financial irregularities, including allegations involving funds sent overseas for film projects.
Janhvi Kapoor condemns sexually explicit deepfake video
Mumbai — Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has condemned a sexually explicit deepfake video circulating online, calling the misuse of technology to create such content without consent “deeply violating” and “bordering on sexual assault.”

“The criminal misuse of technology to objectify women and circulate fictionalised content without consent is deeply violating, bordering on sexual assault,” she wrote.
The doctored video reportedly used footage from her film “Devara,” in which she starred opposite NTR Jr.
Kapoor said consent and personal boundaries should be treated as basic principles, adding that a woman’s clothing or previous choices do not give others permission to exploit her body or image.
She said the problem extends beyond artificial intelligence and reflects the broader harassment, judgment and safety concerns women face in everyday life.
Kapoor also thanked NTR Jr. for publicly condemning the video and expressed appreciation to Chiranjeevi, Vijay and Khushbu for speaking out.
“Her body. Her image. Her boundaries. Her choice,” Kapoor wrote.
