Diljit Dosanjh Halts India Release of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Amid Backlash, Manager Speaks Out
Mumbai– Diljit Dosanjh’s manager, Sonali Singh, has confirmed that the singer-actor’s film Sardaar Ji 3 will not release in India, following public backlash over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Singh expressed disappointment over the criticism, calling it “disheartening and unfair.” She emphasized that the film was shot before current political tensions intensified and was created to uplift regional cinema, backed by personal investments—not corporate studios.
“This isn’t a big-budget film that can absorb losses easily,” she wrote. “It’s someone’s life savings at stake.”
Singh also cited the long-delayed release of Punjab 95, in which Dosanjh portrays slain human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, as another example of the challenges he faces. Despite the personal and financial toll, Singh said Diljit is prioritizing public sentiment and national mood.
“He’s choosing not to release Sardaar Ji 3 in India as a sign of respect, even though it will severely affect the film’s business,” she wrote. “He’s putting others—his crew, producers, and their families—above himself.”
Singh concluded by saying Diljit’s decision stems from love, not politics, and reflects his continued respect for India.

Kajol on Mythological Horror Film ‘Maa’: “No Other Title Could Define It Better”
New Delhi– Bollywood star Kajol is set to break new ground with her upcoming film Maa, a mythological horror drama she says couldn’t have been titled anything else.

Speaking to IANS, Kajol explained the layered meaning behind the word Maa, often a child’s first word. “It’s the first person a child turns to, the beginning of everything. For me, ‘Maa’ means both the goddess and my own mother, Tanuja. By the end of filming, we knew no other title fit better.”
While horror remains a relatively underexplored genre in Bollywood—with occasional standouts like Raaz, Bhoot, Tumbbad, and Pari—Kajol believes the tide is turning.
“Yes, the industry has been hesitant. Horror requires serious VFX, which means a bigger budget,” she said. “But Maa isn’t just horror. It’s emotional, mythological, and has the intensity of a thriller.”
Kajol said the film’s emotional depth was what ultimately drew her to the role. “I wouldn’t have done it if it didn’t have such a strong core. We’re all striving for better scripts and storytelling—and that takes time.”
Maa is set to hit theaters on June 27.
