Priyanka Chopra is ‘proud’ of Rebel Wilson

Mumbai– Actress Priyanka Chopra has praised actress Rebel Wilson and said that it is amazing to see a woman in Hollywood, star in a movie of her dreams.

Priyanka on Tuesday took to Twitter where she shared a photograph of herself along with the cast of “Isn’t It Romantic” and her husband Nick Jonas.

“Happiness and love all around. So proud of you Rebel Wilson. It’s so amazing to see a woman in Hollywood literally make and star in a movie of her dreams. ‘Isn’t It Romantic’,” she captioned the image.

“Isn’t It Romantic” tells the story of a New York architect Natalie (Wilson) who works hard to get noticed at her job, but is more likely to be asked to deliver coffee and bagels than to design. Priyanka essays the role of a yoga ambassador.

“Isn’t It Romantic” will release on all Netflix territories outside of the US and Canada — where it will open in theatres.

The romantic-comedy, also featuring Wilson, Liam Hemsworth and Adam Devine, will premiere on February 28 in India.

Deepika to celebrate V-Day watching ‘Gully Boy’

Mumbai– Actress Deepika Padukone will be celebrating her first Valentine’s Day after marriage watching her actor-husband Ranveer Singh’s new release “Gully Boy”.

Interacting with the media at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Fashion Awards 2019 on Tuesday here, Deepika said: “I think I am going to watch ‘Gully Boy’ which releases on Valentine’s Day. Also my parents will be in town, so will be spending the day with them.”

She married Ranveer in Italy in 2018 end, and while her husband has already been seen in “Simmba” in the post-wedding scene, Deepika is yet to make a silver screen appearance after tying the knots.

She will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s “Chhapaak” based on the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Asked about the film, Deepika said: “I can’t reveal much. I can just say that we have already started preparation. In fact we will start filming from next month.”

Deepika said she has not imposed any rules or regulation on hubby-dear. “I think whatever rules I have followed for myself, I think he should follow too, not out of compulsion.

“It must be more out of discipline because I think the more successful you get and the more busy you get, you tend to forget taking care of yourself. So for me, it’s important to get enough sleep and to eat well all for the right reasons.”

Remaking iconic film is stressful: Shahid on ‘Kabir Singh’

Mumbai– Actor Shahid Kapoor, who will be next seen in “Kabir Singh”, a remake of Telugu blockbuster “Arjun Reddy”, says it is highly stressful remaking a film so much loved by the audience.

“I am having a great time. I think ‘Kabir Singh’ is very special and ‘Arjun Reddy’ was amazing. As such it’s very stressful making the remake, especially when it has been loved so much,” Shahid told the media at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards 2019 on Tuesday here.

“Arjun Reddy”, starring Vijay Deverakonda, was released in 2017.

Shahid said 70 per cent of the shoot has already been completed, adding that “it’s an iconic film”.

“I am playing a challenging role. It releases on June 21. We all are super excited,” he said

On his Valentine’s Day plans, Shahid said: “Meera (Meera Rajput Kapoor) and I are very spontaneous. We do things we feel correct doing in last minute.

“Now, obviously we have kids and we have to make sure that they are priority so, I don’t know as of now. There are no plans. We will see what we want to do on the day.”

Makers repackage iconic songs for today’s generation, says Sonakshi

Mumbai– Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who has featured in the video of the recreated version of “Mungda” song, says that makers repackage iconic songs for the current generation.

Her latest dance number “Mungda” for the film “Total Dhamaal” has earned the wrath of the fans of the original number featuring Helen.

“Mungda” was originally sung by Usha Mangeshkar with music by Rajesh Roshan and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

The song has been recreated by singers Jyotica Tangri, Shaan and Subhro Ganguly and music director duo Gourov-Roshin.

Reacting to the criticism, Sonakshi said: “Even I like the original better and there is no comparison with that. When we recreate a song, that time we don’t think that we will make a particular song better than the original one because when you are recreating an iconic song then there is no point making comparison with the recreated song.”

Want to show my versatility as an actress: Vaani

Mumbai– Vaani Kapoor says she wants to show her versatility as an actress in her upcoming films.

Talking about how she wants to see herself on-screen, the “Befikre” actress told IANS here: “I want to show my versatility as an actress in my upcoming films. In both my upcoming films, whether it is ‘Shamshera’ or the one where I am sharing screen space with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, both are very different roles and the world of these two stories are different.

“As an actress, I want to live many lives on-screen. So, I hope people can see me in a different avatar.”

Vaani recently walked the ramp to launch spring-summer collection of a brand.

Talking about fashion, she said: “I strongly believe that my style is an extension of my personality. What I believe, how I am feeling, what occasion I am attending, everything reflects on what I am wearing on that day, at that moment. But more than anything else, an outfit looks good when I feel good from within.”

Tough to digest not being a part of ‘Total Dhamaal’: Ashish

Mumbai– Actor Ashish Chowdhry, who was a part of the first two “Dhamaal” installments, says it is tough to digest not being a part of the third part titled “Total Dhamaal”.

“I’ve missed you all so much. It is tough to digest not being a part of ‘Total Dhamaal’ but its family…,” Ashish tweeted on Wednesday.

He also expressed his wish to be a part of the fourth installment.

Ashish added: “I pray for it (‘Total Dhamaal’) to break all records so we can be together in the fourth installment. Sanjay Dutt sir, miss you much always in film, or out of it.”

Doesn’t make sense to get serious about everything: Mira Rajput Kapoor

Mumbai– After getting trolled for letting her daughter Misha colour her hair, actor Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput Kapoor says it doesn’t make sense to get serious about everything.

“It wasn’t a colour. It was a regular paint. She (Misha) just had nice time and I think it’s just about letting your children to be creative, letting them be free and letting them to have a good time. I think it doesn’t make sense to get serious about everything,” Mira told the media on Wednesday during the Helping Hand Exhibition cum Fundraiser event.

Last week, Mira shared a photograph in which her two-year-old daughter Misha was seen having red tresses.

“I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom,” she captioned the photograph.

But the photograph didn’t go well with the netizens as they started criticising Mira.

Following the backlash, she posted another photograph of Misha and wrote: “Relax guys it’s just temporary. Wait till I’m 5.”

The event was organised to support TATA Memorial Hospital’s pediatric oncology ward here.

Talking about the event, Mira said: “I am really happy associating myself with Helping Hands Exhibition cum Fundraiser. They have organised a really nice event and it has been organised to support a very noble cause.

Kartik Aaryan to celebrate Valentine’s Day with mother

Mumbai– Actor Kartik Aaryan says there is no special person in his life and he will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with his mother.

“This time around, I am celebrating Valentine’s Day with my mother,” Kartik said.

“I am not going to attend any party or function on that day. And I don’t have any special person in my life to celebrate Valentine’s Day,” he added.

The actor opened up about his plans while interacting with the media at the 4th Annual Brand Vision Award here on Tuesday.

The “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” star is happy with content-driven films becoming successful.

“I am happy that films of talented actors like Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana are doing so well. I think we are in a good space where content is considered as the king.

“The audience is appreciating content-driven films.”

He will soon be seen in “Luka Chuppi”, which will hit the screens on March 1 this year. (IANS)
