Priyanka Chopra to Star With Russell Crowe in Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Bluefly’

Mumbai — Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to share the screen with Russell Crowe for the first time in the upcoming science-fiction action thriller “Bluefly.”

Chopra confirmed the project on social media by sharing news of the film and writing, “Onto the next.”

Directed by Nimród Antal, “Bluefly” is written by David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank. The story follows a grieving U.N. translator who joins a black-ops mission in the Congo to recover a mysterious downed aircraft.

As a Special Operations team travels through militia-controlled territory, the mission becomes increasingly dangerous and the group discovers the aircraft may hold secrets that were never meant to be recovered.

Chopra will also appear in S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming film “Varanasi,” alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Anupam Kher Donates Rs 5 Lakh for Assam Flood Relief

Mumbai — Actor Anupam Kher has donated Rs 5 lakh to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support families affected by severe flooding in the state.

Kher transferred the contribution directly to the relief fund, which is supporting rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-hit areas.

The donation follows an appeal from the actor urging people to help those affected by the disaster. In a social media video, Kher said he was deeply saddened by images of families who had lost their homes and livelihoods.

“Some people have lost their families, while others have lost their homes. Many children and elderly people are being forced to sit under the open sky,” he said.

Kher encouraged others to contribute to relief efforts according to their means, saying the value of assistance should be measured by the intention behind it rather than the amount.

 

Amitabh Bachchan Says Tinted Glasses Help Hide Signs of Aging

Mumbai — Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that he wears slightly tinted glasses to conceal signs of aging around his eyes.

Speaking on the set of “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” Bachchan recalled crew members questioning the yellow tint in glasses he said he has worn for about 25 years.

“An elderly person’s age is recognized through their eyes,” Bachchan said, explaining that he added a slight tint because his eyes had begun showing their age.

The veteran actor also apologized to the audience for delays during filming, saying the first recording of a new season required additional technical adjustments.

Bachchan recently wrote on his personal blog that he had been working for nearly 24 hours on “Kaun Banega Crorepati.” The new season is scheduled to premiere Aug. 10.

 

Raveena Tandon Celebrates India’s Weavers on National Handloom Day

Mumbai — Raveena Tandon marked National Handloom Day by highlighting the work of India’s weavers and encouraging support for locally made textiles.

The actress shared photos of herself wearing sarees made by local artisans and praised the craftspeople who preserve India’s traditional weaving heritage.

“Swadeshi was built on the idea of standing by our own people, and that starts with our master weavers,” Tandon wrote on social media. “Wearing local today with gratitude for the hands that keep our culture alive.”

Actresses Shriya Saran and Apara Mehta also marked the occasion, praising the skill and dedication of Indian weavers and urging people to embrace handloom products.

National Handloom Day honors India’s weaving traditions and commemorates the Swadeshi Movement, launched in 1905 to promote Indian-made goods.

Mumbai — Kareena Kapoor has shared photos from her vacation in Italy with husband Saif Ali Khan, including a playful post saying, “Someone get me out of Italy.”

Kapoor posted a photo of empty plates and drinks after a meal, along with pictures of herself and Khan. She captioned one photo of the couple, “Hero aur unki heroine.”

The actress also shared mirror selfies from Venice, referencing her famous “Jab We Met” dialogue: “Main apni favourite hoon.”

Kapoor was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again” and will next appear in Meghna Gulzar’s “Daayra,” alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. The crime drama is scheduled for release in September.

In a social media video, Balan said she values how every motif and detail in a handloom saree reflects artistic skill and generations of tradition.

“What I love most about handloom silk sarees is that every bit, every motif, every little detail carries the signature of artistic skill and generations of tradition,” she said.

Balan encouraged consumers to support authentic Indian weaves and look for the Silk Mark label when purchasing pure silk.
