Do what makes you happy, says Sonali Bendre
New York– Actress Sonali Bendre Behl, who is undergoing metastatic cancer treatment here, has chosen a wig for herself. In a motivational post for cancer patients, she has urged them not to let the disease take away their happiness.
The 43-year-old on Wednesday took to Instagram and posted a heartwarming video, in which she can be seen showcasing her new look as she has opted for a wig following hair loss due to the cancer treatment.
Along with the video, she wrote: “The way we look has a profound psychological impact on us… A little vanity here and there does no one any harm.
“It’s important to do what makes you happy, even if it’s something as simple as wearing a wig, bright red lipstick, high heels…. All that white noise doesn’t make a difference in the larger picture.”
She says she had a brief moment of “self-doubt” when she was testing out the wigs for herself.
“Am I vain for wanting to look good?” she thought to herself.
“As part of the entertainment industry, you’re always expected to look good… Maybe that has been ingrained in me? But then I gave it a thought and I realized I like looking good for me.
“If I’m in the mood to wear a scarf, I will. If I want to walk around bald and free, I will. Only you know what would make you feel good, and what works best for you,” she added.
The “Sarfarosh” actor also thanked actress Priyanka Chopra for connecting her with the hairstylist who then created the wig.

Being vegan helps me keep fit: Vidyut Jammwal
Mumbai– Fit actor Vidyut Jammwal, known for his daredevil stunts and flawless action sequences, attributes his chiselled body to his vegan lifestyle and workout routine.
In an ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, he appears next to the words “Kick the Meat Habit. Go Vegan.”
Vegans are vegetarians who eat only fully plant-derived foods, leaving those derived from animals – such as milk and eggs, which are stolen from exploited cows and chickens, respectively – off their plates, the animal rights organisation said.
“When people ask me where I get my protein from, I tell them (I get it from) exactly (the same place that) herbivorous animals like elephants, horses, and rhinos do: plants,” said Vidyut in a statement fit for the National Nutrition Week.
“Being vegan helps me keep fit. I love the way I feel,” he added.
Vidyut joins a growing list of vegan celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, Joaquin Phoenix, Pamela Anderson, Jacqueline Fernandez, Mallika Sherawat, Ayesha Takia, Monica Dogra, and Bryan Adams, to name a few. (IANS)
