Nawazuddin to be honoured at international film fest
Mumbai– Critically-acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be honoured at the upcoming Cardiff International Film Festival 2019 for his contribution to the world of cinema.
Nawazuddin will be feted with the Golden Dragon Award at the fest, which will be held from October 24 to 27 at Cardiff Bay, Wales. He will get the award on the final day of the fest.
“I am very excited to be part of Cardiff International Film Festival and look forward to attending the festival,” Nawazuddin said.
Starting off with bit roles in films such as “Sarfarosh” and “Shool”, Nawazuddin made his mark in Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs Of Wasseypur” films in 2012. Over the years, he has carved his space with his performances in “The Lunchbox”, “Liar’s Dice”, “Badlapur”, “Manjhi: The Mountain Man”, “Kick”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Mom” and the web series “Sacred Games”.
“Nawaz is our special guest,” said Rahil Abbas, founder at the Cardiff International Film Festival (CIFF).
Varun Sharma turns wedding planner for friend
Mumbai– Actor Varun Sharma, who became popular as Choocha in the “Fukrey” films and Sexa in “Chhichhore”, recently turned wedding planner for a close friend, and planned plastic-free festivities.
Right from the invitation to decor, the actor took the onus on himself to plan the wedding in Ludhiana.
“It was my buddies wedding… Someone I have grown up with and it just feels great to connect with everyone all over again,” Varun said.
Varun made his debut in 2013 with the popular film “Fukrey”, and gained popularity.
“It is still very magical for me. Everyday going to a film set and meeting media or any integration, it still feels magical to me. It still feels unreal to me,” Varun had told IANS while talking about fame.
On the work front, Varun will soon be seen in horror-comedy ” RoohiAfza” alongside Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and directed by debutant Hardik Mehta, is slated to release on March 20, 2020.
‘Dabangg 3’ trailer: Salman Khan back in Chulbul form
Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khan is back as the “policewala gunda” Chulbul Pandey in the trailer of “Dabangg 3” that released on Wednesday.
“Here it is… Pls take out time from your busy schedule and watch 3 mins of ‘Dabangg 3’ #Dabangg3Trailer,” Salman tweeted along with the trailer.
Going by the trailer, the film will take the audience to the time of Chulbul Pandey’s life before he becomes a cop. There are some strong punches, kicks ad shirtless fight scenes in addition to romance.
The over three-minute trailer ends with his signature dialogue: “Swagat toh karo hamara”.
Directed by Prabhudeva, the film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Kiccha Sudeep, who will be seen as the villain.
Bhumi: ‘Bala’ tries busting India’s fetish for fair skin
New Delhi– Bhumi Pednekar’s dusky appearance in the upcoming film “Bala” met with a lot of online criticism when the film’s trailer was launched. The actress says the film does not intend to make fun of dark skin. Rather, it tries to break the bias or obsession that people have with fair skin in India.
“See, that was the character. When people see the film they will understand that it is not making fun of colour. It is a film that is trying to break the basic bias or the obsession that people have with fair-skinned India,” Bhumi told IANS here.
“I have been reading up all the articles and, again, it comes down to the same thing that started the ageism debate over ‘Saand Ki Aankh’. I don’t think there is a right or a wrong. As an actor I am doing my duty. I am an actor so that I can play different characters. If that doesn’t happen, I won’t exist,” she said, adding: “For instance, if that doesn’t happen, in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ it shouldn’t have been me because I had to gain 30 kilos for the film. It should have been somebody else playing the role,” she added.
Sara Ali Khan’s bikini pics during Lankan vacay are an Insta rage
Mumbai– Actress Sara Ali Khan’s bikini photos while on a Sri Lankan vacation are scorching social media.
Sara is out enjoying some “me time”, having taken time out from her busy schedule. In snapshots posted from her holiday, Sara is seen chilling in cool waters, sipping on coconut water and “wave-ing”.
The “Simmba” actress’ took to Instagram to share the images.
“Lady in Lanka,” she captioned them.
In one of the photos, she is posing with coconut water while taking a dip in a pool. In another, she is flaunting her back and enjoying the sea beach view. Going by another photo, she had fun playing in rainfall too.
Later, she took to Instagram stories to share that her holiday had come to an end but she left some videos of her “happy place” and “me time” moments too.
On the work front, she is busy shooting for the remake of “Coolie No 1”.
Akshay Kumar never discouraged me from imitating him: Lookalike Vikalp Mehta
Mumbai– Akshay Kumar’s lookalike Vikalp Mehta has garnered more than 1.4 million views on his YouTube channel for recreating the superhit “Shaitan ka saala” song from “Housefull 4”. Vikalp says the 53-year-old superstar has never discouraged him for imitating him unlike many other actors.
“I have been imitating Akshay ji over the past 10 years, and I was always a huge fan. We all know he is a superstar but he has a really good nature. There are a lot of celebrities who don’t promote people who do their mimicry but Akshay has been supportive. I must have met Akshay on 10 to 12 occasions, and whenever I met him he interacts with me in a sweet manner. That’s why I have a huge respect for him,” said
Vikalp, while interacting with the media in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Vikalp recently got a chance to interact with Akshay and the cast of “Housefull 4”. “A few days back, I got the opportunity to work with Akshay and the team of �Housefull 4′ for Star Plus channel’s upcoming show �Yeh Diwali Apno Wali’, where I celebrated Diwali with the entire cast of �Housefull 4′. We had a lot of fun while shooting for the show,” he recalled.
Kangana Ranaut not starring in B’wood remake of ‘Aadai’: Producer
Chennai– Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has not been approached for a Hindi remake of the recent Tamil thriller “Aadai”, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
“We are venturing into Bollywood with the Hindi remake of ‘Aadai’. We are planning to do it with a very popular star. Contrary to some reports, we have not approached Kangana Ranaut for the project. The director and the rest of the crew will be finalised soon,” stated producer Arun Pandian of A&P Groups, who has acquired remake rights of “Aadai” in all languages.
“Aadai”, directed by Rathna Kumar, featured Amala Paul in the title role. The story unfolds over a single night when Amala as Kamini, who plays the free-spirited Kamini, wakes up naked in an abandoned building after a party.
Despite courting controversy on its bid to define what really constitutes freedom, “Aadai” won acclaim for the way it its protagonist crushed every trope associated with the depiction of the mainstream Tamil heroine.
The film failed to click at the box-office, although it was appreciated by critics.
Malaika Arora puts on dancing shoes for b’day bash
Mumbai– It was a fun night for dancer Malaika Arora, who celebrated her birthday with friends on Tuesday night here. She burnt the dance floor with her amazing moves and so did her rumoured beau Arjun Kapoor.
Fans of the two took to Instagram to post videos of them dancing. They featured in separate videos, but one photo of the two together is doing the rounds on the Internet.
Arjun Rampal posted the photo in which she is posing with the actor and Arjun Kapoor.

Janhvi Kapoor steps out with price tag attached to outfit
Mumbai–Actress Janhvi Kapoor was recently clicked wearing a dupatta with a price tag on it. Netizens were quick to spot the fashion faux pas and crack jokes about it.
In a video posted on Instagram, Janhvi was seen wearing a salwar suit with a dupatta. The camera followed her till her car. At one point, when she turned around, the price tag could be seen on the dupatta.
The comments section is full of people writing on her dupatta’s price tag.
“tag ..bhul gyi nikalna,” one wrote.
Another wrote: “Did she or her stylist rob that suit from a shop? It has that sensor wala thing attached to dupatta.”
“Myntra return will not pick it up if it doesn’t have tag… that’s y,” a user wrote in jest.
Myntra was quick to respond. A comment was posted on behalf of the fashion e-commerce company on Wednesday. It read: “Flag it, tag it, bag it. Clothes returned without a tag are as good as rag! We don’t wanna brag, but if you follow the steps, your return will be without a snag!”
