On Paris getaway, Malaika visits Napoleon’s tomb at Les Invalides

Mumbai– Actress-model Malaika Arora, who is currently on a vacation to Paris, has shared a peek into her holiday, giving glimpses of her visit to Napoleon’s tomb at Les Invalides.

Malaika took to Instagram Stories where shared a series of pictures from her Paris getaway.

One snap shows the portrait of Jesus Christ from inside the Dome Des Invalides, Tombeau De Napoleon.

Napoleon’s tomb contains his remains following their repatriation to France from Saint Helena in 1840, at the initiative of King Louis Philippe I and his minister Adolphe Thiers.

She also shared a picture of a sword from the museum.

Malaika enjoyed her lunch at Gigi restaurant in Paris. She also attended the Paris Olympics and cheered for Neeraj Chopra, who won the silver in javelin throw on Thursday night.

On the work front, Malaika has been the judge on reality shows like ‘Nach Baliye’, ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’, ‘Perfect Bride’, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, ‘India’s Got Talent’, ‘India’s Next Top Model’, ‘MTV Supermodel of the Year’, and ‘India’s Best Dancer’.

She also appeared in the reality series ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’. The show focuses on the personal and professional lives of Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, and Seema Kiran Sajdeh, wives of actors Samir Soni, Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, and Sohail Khan (divorced), respectively.

Best known for her dance performance in the song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ from the 1998 film ‘Dil Se..’ directed by Mani Ratnam, and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Preity Zinta, Malaika also featured in the show ‘Moving in With Malaika’.

On the personal front, Malaika tied the knot with Bollywood actor-producer Arbaaz Khan in 1998. However, the couple announced divorce on May 11, 2017. They have a son named Arhaan Khan.

Bhumi, sister Samiksha take an auto-rickshaw ride in Pink City

Mumbai– Actress Bhumi Pednekar and her sister Samiksha are currently enjoying their time with an auto-rickshaw ride in Jaipur.

Bhumi shared a video on her Instagram stories, where her sister is heard saying that the actress wanted to eat at a particular restaurant. She then pans the camera on the cows walking on the road.

“Bhumi and Sam take Jaipur,” she wrote as the caption.

The actress then shared a photograph of the Ram Bagh palace and captioned it: “Always the best”.

Talking about Bhumi, who is known for her portrayals of headstrong small-town women, stepped into cinema in 2015 after working as an assistant casting director at Yash Raj Films for six years.

Her first film was “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”, where she featured opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and played an over-weight girl. She was then seen in films such as “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan”, “Bala”, “ Pati Patni Aur Woh”, “Saand Ki Aankh” and “Badhaai Do”.

She was last seen in “Bhakshak”, a crime thriller, based on the Muzaffarpur shelter case and is directed by Pulkit. The film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava and Sai Tamhankar.

Bhumi will next be seen in “Daldal”, a web series, where she will portray the challenging role of a police officer. The actress described her character as a super achiever and a glass-ceiling breaker who rewrites the rules in a male-dominated world.

Men today are also victims of patriarchy: Farhan Akhtar

Mumbai– Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar feels that men today are also victims of patriarchy as they are taught since childhood to “not be weak”.

Farhan was speaking on the podcast ‘Figuring Out With Raj Shamani’ when the host said that one of his great dialogues is from the 2015 film ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ directed by his sister Zoya Akhtar.

“Tum permission de rahe ho matlabh ke tum apne aap ko ek authority main put kar rahe ho aur woh barabari nahi hai,” the host said, quoting Farhan from the film.

In reply, Farhan said: “We are taught that men don’t cry, don’t complain, and just get on with it… Because you have been taught since the time you were a kid that you have to be in control. You are not allowed to be weak. Men today are also victims of that patriarchy…”

The host then asked how men struggle to share and ask for help, to which Farhan replied: “Women are easier at doing it. Men in general are closeted.”

Further into the conversation, Farhan revealed the greatest learning he got from his lyricist-screenwriter-poet father, Javed Akhtar.

“(He said) …Don’t be happy with your work too soon. That is the greatest learning,” said Farhan.

Asked if self-doubt ever crept into him, Farhan said he has felt like a “fraud” at times.

“Those first minutes before I go on stage (to perform… When I am standing at the back. I feel like an imposter. I feel like I am a fraud,” said Farhan.

‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (2025), a family drama, tells the story of a dysfunctional family on a 10-day cruise with their friends and relatives. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Rahul Bose, Zarina Wahab, Vikrant Massey, Pawan Chopra, Parmeet Sethi, Dolly Mattdo and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.

Priyanka Chopra flaunts ‘new eye colour’ as she preps for ‘Citadel’ Season 2

Mumbai– Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has started prepping for the second season of the spy action thriller “Citadel”.

Priyanka took to her Instagram stories, where she shared a video of herself sitting in the backseat of her car and flaunting a honey-hued eye colour.

In the clip, the actress is heard saying: “New eye colour for Citadel, what do you think?”

For the caption, she wrote: “@Citadelonprime prep! Here we go…!”

Created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil, with the Russo brothers as executive producers, the first season of “Citadel” also stars Richard Madden. It first premiered in 2023 and had the actors as Citadel agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh. The star cast also had Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville among the main cast.

In 2023, it was renewed for a second season. Joe Russo announced that he will direct all the episodes in the season. Several non-English language adaptations have been announced. The Indian adaptation starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu is titled “Citadel: Honey Bunny” and will premiere on November 7.

Talking about Priyanka, he was shooting in Australia for the film “The Bluff”, a swashbuckler drama directed by Frank E. Flowers. The film also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green and Vedanten Naidoo.

“The Bluff” is set in the Caribbean islands during the 19th century. It features Priyanka as a former pirate who must protect her family when her past catches up with her.

She had recently shared a BTS “of a rainy day from the sets of the film.

The actress had posted a short video from the sets of the film, which shows the drizzling. Priyanka says in the video: “It’s a rainy day on ‘The Bluff’. But, we don’t stop. Rain rain, go away, we want to play.”

The video featured big blue screens with track marks mounted on the sets. She geo-tagged the location of Gold Coast in Queensland. (IANS)
