Mumbai– Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who has had a four decade-long association with the Hindi film industry, says a person needs to have guts for resurrection and reinvention to survive in show business.
“Film business just chews you up and spits you out on the sidewalk. To survive in show business, you need guts and the ability to constantly resurrect and reinvent yourself,” Bhatt tweeted on Tuesday.
Known for movies like “Saaransh”, “Daddy”, “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin” and “Aashiqui”, Bhatt co-owns his home banner Vishesh Films.
Hrithik starts ‘Super 30’ shoot in Varanasi
Mumbai– Known for his ‘Greek God’ looks, actor Hrithik Roshan has embraced a unique get-up with a heavy beard and unkempt hair for his new film “Super 30”.
Hrithik has started shooting the film, a biopic on Anand Kumar who is a mathematics wizard and teaches 30 meritorious and talented candidates each year from economically backward sections for the entrance examination for the Indian Institute of Technology.
The actor, upbeat about playing a man from Bihar, shared his first look from the film via Twitter on Tuesday.
“And the journey begins. ‘Super 30’,” he captioned the image.
Backed by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films and directed by Vikas Bahl, the film is slated to release in November this year.
Its shoot went on floors in Varanasi on Tuesday, Shibasish Sarkar, Chief Operation Officer, Reliance Entertainment, shared on Twitter.
Salman Khan to launch newcomer Warina with ‘Loveratri’
Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khan has roped in a fresh face as the lead actress of his upcoming production “Loveratri”, which marks the launch of brother-in-law Aayush Sharma as an actor in Bollywood.
Salman on Tuesday teased his fans and followers with a cryptic message before sharing a glimpse of Warina.
“Mujhe ladki mil gayi (I found the girl),” Salman tweeted.
Moments later, he shared a photograph, and wrote: “Nothing to worry na… Aayush Sharma ki film ‘Loveratri’ ke liye ladki mil gayi. Warina (We found the girl for Aayush Sharma’s film — Warina), Toh dont worry na, be happy na.”
While Aayush is the husband of Salman’s youngest sister Arpita, no other details about Warina have been shared.
The film, which will be directed by Abhiraj Minawala, is said to be a love story based in Gujarat.
Richa took references from real rallies for ‘Daas Dev’
Mumbai– Actress Richa Chadha, who will be seen playing the role of Paro in the forthcoming film “Daas Dev”, says she took references from watching rallies and debates to see how women politicians behave.
“The role of Paro I play in ‘Daas Dev’ is unlike the previous versions of the film and its adaptations. This time around, she is strong and level headed. And I play a politician, so I took references from watching these rallies and debates to see how women politicians behave, the nuances of their poise, their speeches and other things,” Richa said in a statement.
Richa, who will be playing a strong and tough aspiring politician’s role, said that observing them helped a lot to build her character.
“Daas Dev” is a love saga set amidst a political background and directed by Sudhir Mishra, which is a modern take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel “Devdas”.
The movie also stars Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni and Rahul Bhatt as Dev.
Anupam had ‘best’ reunion with ‘Hotel Mumbai’ co-stars
Los Angeles– Veteran actor Anupam Kher says he had the best reunion with the cast and crew of “Hotel Mumbai” here.
Anupam on Tuesday shared a few photographs of himself along with Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Jason Isaacs and Joe Jomon.
“This was the best reunion ever in Los Angeles. I was so delighted to meet up and spend some time with my friends and co-actors from ‘Hotel Mumbai’,” he captioned the image.
Anupam said he missed the Indian origin British actor Dev Patel at the reunion.
“Hotel Mumbai”, an American-Australian thriller film, was directed by Anthony Maras. It is based on the 2009 documentary Surviving Mumbai about the Mumbai attacks in 2008 at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India.
Krystle D’Souza takes cue from Rekha’s act
Mumbai– Actress Krystle D’Souza has taken inspiration from veteran cine icon Rekha for an upcoming sequence for her TV show “Belan Waali Bahu”.
In the Colors TV show, Roopa (essayed by Krystle) is leaving no stone unturned to fulfil the wishes of her late husband Ladoo (essayed by Dheeraj Sarna). And that is the reason why she will perform ‘mujra’ specially for him.
To prepare for this role, Krystle has taken inspiration from the legendary Rekha to perform on “Salaam-E-Ishq” from the film “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”.
“When I was told about this sequence, my excitement went to another level as I have admired Rekhaji’s performance on this song. Getting a chance to do the same number onscreen is a brilliant feeling for me,” Krystle said in a statement.
“Though it was a little challenging, but I thoroughly enjoyed my performance. I can’t wait to hear what the viewers have to say about it.”
Turkish hackers compromise Anupam Kher, Ram Madhav’s Twitter accounts
New Delhi– Twitter on Tuesday temporarily shut down the accounts of veteran actor Anupam Kher, RSS leader and BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and senior Indian journalist and Member of Parliament Swapan Dasgupta after they were allegedly hacked by pro-Pakistani Turkish cyber army Ayyildiz Tim.
“Our teams are working to resolve an issue affecting a small number of Indian users. We will notify affected account holders directly. Reminder: do not click on links in DMs coming from unknown accounts,” Twitter posted on @TwitterSupport handle.
Kher’s account handle was changed from @anupampkher to @anupampkhertc and his tweets bore unusual messages. The messages were later deleted.
When people tried to access Dasgupta’s account, a message read, “Caution: This account is temporarily restricted. You’re seeing this warning because there has been some unusual activity from this account. Do you still want to view it?”
When users went ahead to see the profile, they could see nothing but promoted posts.
Ram Madhav’s account displayed a message saying, “Your account has been hacked by Turkish cyber army Ayyildiz Tim. Your DM correspondence and important data have been captured. I Love Pakistan.”
After the accounts were hacked, #AnupamKher became one of the top trending hashtags on the micro-blogging site with 1,221 tweets bearing the actors name.
Rahul Khanna to make Bollywood comeback soon
Mumbai– Actor Rahul Khanna, who has featured in films like “Earth”, “Love Aaj Kal” and “Wake Up Sid”, says he will soon be seen in a Bollywood venture.
“Maybe you will see me soon as there are stuff in the pipeline,” Rahul told IANS when asked about when he will be seen in a Bollywood venture.
Rahul, however, did not reveal any details about the project..
The actor walked the ramp here for designer Narendra Kumar at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2018. The designer presented ‘The Fake Show’ in association with Burgoyne, an Irish linen manufacturer.
Kumar’s show took a dig at the reality of the new world order of ‘fake news’.
Rahul, the face of Burgoyne, was the showstopper. He was dressed in an all-white sporty couture linen ensemble.
Talking about how men have evolved in terms of fashion, Rahul said: “Men are becoming aware of style and more interested in expressing their own personal style. It is nice to see that happen… to see people having their own expression.”
India will become America when Rajinikanth becomes PM: RGV
Mumbai– Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma says that India will become as powerful as America when superstar Rajinikanth becomes the Prime Minister of the country.
“In the context of India’s position in entire world of some 200 countries only when Rajinikanth becomes the PM of India is when India will become America by actually rising from 2.zero to 200. zero,” Varma tweeted on Monday night.
On December 31, 2017, Rajinikanth had announced his plans to float a political party and follow spiritual politics.
On the work front, Varma just finished working with American porn star Mia Malkova for “God, Sex and Truth” for which he was even booked for obscenity on a complaint by a social activist in January.
A case under section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 was booked against him for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form. (IANS)
