Madhuri not planning to fight Lok Sabha elections

Mumbai— There were reports that actress Madhuri Dixit Nene might contest the Lok Sabha elections from Pune for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but her representative has denied all such claims, saying that they are false.

A report claimed that Madhuri’s name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.

But Madhuri’s spokesperson denied the reports.

“This news is false and speculative,” the spokesperson told IANS.

Madhuri, who entered the industry in 1984 with “Abodh”, has remained a pivotal part of the Indian entertainment industry and has enthralled fans through meaty roles in films like “Tezaab”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Dil”, “Beta”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!”, “Anjaam”, “Mrityudand”, “Pukar”, “Dil To Pagal Hai” and “Devdas”. She also starred in “Gulaabi Gang”.

She took a break after marriage and returned to Bollywood with “Aaja Nachle” in 2007.

At the moment, she is busy with “Kalank” and “Total Dhamaal”.

Mumbai– Indian actress Priyanka Chopra is now Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Instagram. There is, however, no change on Twitter and Facebook.

The name change comes just one day after Priyanka and Nick Jonas, who tied the knot last week, made their first appearance as a married couple at the launch party of Bumble, a dating application, in New Delhi.

Bumble was launched in India officially at an event here on December 5.

Priyanka and Nick have had three-day wedding festivities at Jodhpur’s royal Umaid Bhawan Palace, where they exchanged wedding vows as per both Christian and Hindu rituals in two separate ceremonies.

Their pre-wedding rituals at the celebrations, which saw participation from just a little over 200 guests, included a “mehndi” (henna) ceremony. There was also a glitzy musical evening.

Tarun also feels that the actress is a well grounded person.

“Sara used to fold her hands and say namaste, stand in the que for food along with the rest of the team. She is a respectful human being…”

In “Kedarnath”, Tarun plays a role of a pithu leader (people who carry pilgrims on their back), who fulfils the demands of pithus.

Talking more about the film, the actor said: “Working on this film has been very challenging because we have worked in extreme conditions, shot in freezing cold in Kedarnath and then shot in bombay in extreme heat… but it was worth it.”

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, “Kedarnath” which is set against the backdrop of the devastating 2013 Uttarakhand flood, has been released nationwide on Friday. The film also stars actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role.

Neetu Chandra to star in Korean TV show

Mumbai– Actress Neetu Chandra, also a Kukkiwon ambassador of India, will star in a Korean Taekwondo drama titled “Narae”.

The actress was offered the role by grand master Lee Jeonghee.

“I’m extremely grateful and thank Grand master Lee Jeonghee. It is because of his sheer support that I have been able to bag this role in the Korean youth action drama.

“They were looking for an Indian actor as part of the drama who also had some kind of training in Taekwondo. Being a trained Taekwondo player, I fit the bill and landed a role in the drama,” Neetu said in a statement.

It will be shot in Seoul, South Korea and will go on floors early next year.

Shilpa to provide expert advice for ‘Big Boss 12’

Mumbai– Actress Shilpa Shinde says she is super excited to provide expert advice for the current season of “Big Boss” on a radio channel.

“I’m super excited to be a part of this show on a radio channel and what better than RED FM. I will be providing expert advice for the current season of ‘Big Boss’. Watching these contestants is almost like reliving the entire experience of the house and Bigg Boss’ voice now gives me goosebumps.

“While this year has contestants with different personalities, their game strategy is extremely similar. Currently Sreesanth is my favourite contestant and I would like to see him win. Yes, the house is full of controversies and fights but it’s also full of fun and madness,” the actress said in a statement.

RED FM radio network launched channel no 935 will become the destination for daily “Bigg Boss” rants.(IANS)
