Kartik, Kriti start ‘Luka Chuppi’ shoot

Mumbai– Actors Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon have started shooting for their upcoming film “Luka Chuppi”.

Kriti on Thursday took to Twitter, where she shared a photograph of herself along with Kartik.

“To new beginnings ‘Luka Chuppi’, Day 1,” she wrote.

Kartik shared the same photograph and captioned: “And ‘Luka Chuppi’ starts. Day 1.”

Kartik will be seen playing a TV reporter based in Mathura. Kriti essays a Mathura girl who goes to Delhi to study and returns to her hometown.

It is being produced under the banner of Maddock Films.

The film will be helmed by Laxman Utekar, the director of photography of “Hindi Medium”. He has also directed Marathi films “Tapaal” and “Lalbaugcha Raja”. This is his Bollywood debut as a director.

No high more energising than being self made: Taapsee

Mumbai– Actress Taapsee Pannu, who has turned 31, shared a “piece of dope” and said that there is no high more intoxicating and energising than the high of being “self made”.

Taapsee tweeted: “As I age towards becoming an ‘antique’ sharing a piece of ‘dope’ with you all… There is no high more intoxicating and energising than the high of being ‘self made’. Try it, it works. You all have been a part of my journey,” Taapsee tweeted.

The actress, who turned 31 on Wednesday, made her acting debut in 2010 with the Telugu film “Jhummandi Naadam”. Since then, she has appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films such as “Aadukalam”, “Baby”, “Naam Shabana”, “Pink”, “The Ghazi Attack”, “Soorma”.

On the big screen, Taapsee’s latest release is “Mulk”, a story of a Muslim family trying to reclaim its lost honour.

She also has two more films in her kitty — “Manmarziyaan” and “Badla”.

‘Good News’ to release on July 19, 2019

Mumbai– Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer “Good News” is slated to release on July 19, 2019.

Akshay on Thursday took to Twitter to announce the title of the film, which is directed by Raj Mehta.

“Good News! That’s the name of our film and so is the news I am sharing. It is a ‘dramedy’. Due Date 19th July, 2019,” Akshay tweeted.

The film also stars actors Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles.

This is not the first time Akshay and Kareena will be seen working together. The two have previously worked in films like “Ajnabee”, “Kambakkht Ishq”, “Tashan” and “Bewafaa”.

Kareena has also shared the screen with Diljit in “Udtaa Punjab”.

“Good News” is laugh riot, family drama in which Akshay and Kareena are playing a married couple and trying for a baby.

While Diljit and Kiara are essaying the role of a Punjabi married couple trying for a baby as well.

It is expected to go on the floor by the end of this year.

Rozlyn Khan to make TV debut with crime show

Mumba– Model-turned-actress Rozlyn Khan will make her small screen debut with a show titled “Crime Alert”.

The actress, who featured in the film “Jee Lene Do Ek Pal”, is playing a dancer in the show. The episode in which she features, will present the story of a young dancer who dances to earn for her family. She gets raped, following which she faces difficulties in life.

“Since the last two years, I have been busy doing theatre. When I got an offer to do a show on the story of a girl’s tragic life, I thought why not. This is crime-based show and the stories are episodic,” Rozlyn said in a statement.

“I was really touched when I heard the story. This is my debut on the small screen,” she added.

‘Made In China’ going to be a crazy ride: Rajkummar Rao

 Mumbai– Actor Rajkummar Rao welcomed actors Mouni Roy and Boman Irani in “Made In China” and said that the upcoming film will be a crazy ride.

Rajkummar on Thursday tweeted: “‘Made In China’ just got bigger and better. Welcome Mouni Roy and Boman Irani sir. This one’s going to be a crazy ride.”

Mouni is set to play Rajkummar’s wife in the movie, which will be will be directed by Gujarati director Mikhil Musale.

“Made in China” will start rolling in September in Mumbai and then travel to Gujarat and China.

This is Rajkummar’s second collaboration with Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films after the horror comedy film “Stree”, which will hit theatres on August 31.

Varun Dhawan, Raftaar face of Breezer Vivid Shuffle Season 2

Mumbai– Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan and rapper Raftaar have been named as the face of hip-hop festival Breezer Vivid Shuffle Season 2.

With the aim to create a bigger hip-hop dance scene in India, Breezer and Only Much Louder (OML) are all set to return with the second season of the fest. The previous season saw the participation of over 1400 dance enthusiasts from five cities across the country.

“Breezer Vivid Shuffle has been a thrilling experience. The vibe of the competition has attracted some great performances last year and it’s exciting to see how the hip-hop enthusiasts collaborate, learn and have crazy fun together,” Varun said in a statement to IANS.

The pan-India competition will comprise of five regional rounds and one grand finale. It will happen in September across five cities: Shillong (September 2), Delhi (September 9), Kolkata (September 15), Bengaluru (September 16) and Mumbai (September 30). This will be followed by a grand finale in Mumbai on October 13.

On the association, Raftaar said: “Hip-hop can be best described as the coming together of communities, representation of expressions in a beautiful, fascinating dance form.”

Anshuman Goenka, Director Marketing, Bacardi India Pvt Ltd, said: “India’s hip-hop movement continues to brew and with Breezer Vivid Shuffle, we are committed to make it mainstream. In this year’s journey, Varun Dhawan who continues to be a strong pillar of this commitment will be joined by Raftaar.”

In addition to winning a cash prize pool at a hip-hop festival, the winners will get a chance to be featured in the video with Varun and Raftaar.

‘Good News’ movie nothing to do with social cause: Akshay

Mumbai– Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who has signed Dharma Productions ‘Good News’, on Wednesday said that the coming film has nothing to do with any social cause.

Akshay was interacting with the media at his film Gold’s IMAX format trailer and poster launch along with co-actors Mouni Roy, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal and producer Ritesh Sidhwani in Mumbai.

Akshay was replying to question whether it was his conscious decision to do content- driven films late in his career. “No… I am doing all kinds of movies. Now, I am shooting for ‘Housefull 4’ and that film is not going to deliver any social message.

“The only message it’s going to give is that you should laugh more often. Similarly, I am doing ‘Good News’ and there are many other things which I am doing which does not have anything to do with social cause…”

Asked whether he will ever feature in a movie or a web series broadcasted by online streaming giants like Amazon or Netflix, he said: “At the moment, I am just seeing myself on the Imax format, which is huge. But you never know… I may say if I get something good to do, I may, but I don’t know as of now.”

On what drives him to do patriotic movies as people called him “modern-day Bharat Kumar”, he said: “There are so many things which I do… they all are very close to my heart. That is why I am doing so. There is no one particular genre or reason why I am doing a certain kind of film. They are very close… whether it’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Pad Man’ or ‘Airlift’ or ‘Gold’…”
