What’s Katrina Kaif’s fitness mantra at 35?

New Delhi– From “Dhoom 3” to “Tiger Zinda Hai”, Katrina Kaif has never failed to surprise her audience with her performances and super-fit body. As she turned 35 on Monday, celebrity trainer Yasmin Karachiwala shared the actress’ fitness secret.

Katrina Kaif

Revealing Katrina’s transformational journey Karachiwala, a Reebok Fitness Ambassador, said in a statement: “Katrina is one of the most interesting people to work with because she expects a new workout every time she walks in to the gym. The workout should meet what her goals are, it should meet her fitness levels and it should meet strengthening the parts that are weak.”

Before beginning work on each movie, Katrina sits with the trainer to create a fitness regime and new schedule.

Karachiwala said that for her, it is a big boost to train someone like Katrina as it challenges and motivates her.

“Katrina’s exercises vary from day to day depending on her erratic shooting schedule. She prefers an intensive high mix of squats, lunges to push-ups and pilates, all of which make her fitter and stronger. Katrina’s workout is designed with the purpose of increasing her strength and flexibility,” she said.

The actress will next be seen in Aanand L. Rai’s “Zero”. She is currently in London and celebrating her special day with her family members.

Taapsee screens ‘Soorma’ for ‘Badla’ team in Scotland

Mumbai– Actress Taapsee Pannu held a special screening of her latest release “Soorma” for the cast and crew of her upcoming film “Badla” in Scotland.

Taapsee Pannu

“I have been in Scotland since June shooting for ‘Badla’ and hence couldn’t be there in Mumbai to feel the buzz around ‘Soorma’. I decided to do a screening here in Scotland for my team so we all could have a nice breather in between our work and I shall know audience reaction first-hand,” Taapsee said in a statement.

Taapsee plays Harpreet in “Soorma”, a Shaad Ali directorial about the life of hockey legend Sandeep Singh. It also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Angad Bedi.

“It was a very heart warming experience to see the entire crew turn up and they all were very appreciative of the film. It helped me believe the reactions I’m getting on my social media as well,” she added.

“Badla”, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, reunites Taapsee and Amitabh Bachchan on-screen after “Pink”.

Parineeti Chopra’s brother has no Bollywood dreams

New Delhi– Actress Parineeti Chopra’s brother Sahaj Chopra says he is not keen on following in the footsteps of his sister and that he is happy being in the food and beverage industry.

Parineeti Chopra

Like Parineeti, her cousins Priyanka and Meera have also made a mark in the film industry. What about the male members of the Chopra family?

“We (the brothers) love our sisters. We support them and are happy with what they have done and how they have reached where they have reached. We have their back and vice-versa,” Sahaj told IANS.

But that doesn’t mean he wants to join them as an actor.

“I have never thought of acting. I have been with my father and in business. I am happy being here,” said Sahaj, who is one of the people responsible for getting UK’s celebrated cookies brand Millie’s Cookies to India.

World Iconic Brands and Franchise India announced the launch of the brand last week here in Saket.

“We plan to take it to all the big cities. Our next one is expected to open in Rajouri Garden in about 30 days. Then in the next quarter, we should be able to launch in Mumbai as well,” said Sahaj, who has invested in the brand as an area franchise partner for north and west India.

He shared that he wasn’t too familiar with the brand, which has been baking fresh “just-out-of-the-oven” smell and “chewy, soft in the middle, crunchy on the outside” cookies since the 1980s.

“When my sister was in London a few years ago, she used to regularly go to Millie’s stores. So, when Millie’s came to me as an opportunity, she was the first one to tell me that I should take it forward. The entire process took about six to eight months,” he said.

The brand is endorsed by Parineeti.

“This happened recently. She personally loves Millie’s so it didn’t take her much time to decide,” he said.

Would he like to start a venture related to food and beverage with his sister?

“If she ever asks me to, I will see if I can do anything about it,” he said.

“Personally, I am a devotee of Sai Baba and there have been instances where his blessings have helped me in difficult situations in life. I feel blessed to be a part of such a beautiful show and I am hopeful of doing justice to my role,” she added.

Irrfan Khan exudes positivity in new Twitter image

Mumbai– Actor Irrfan Khan is fighting a rare disease like a warrior — and with a smile on his face.

Irrfan Khan

In the acclaimed actor’s new Twitter profile picture, Irrfan appears weaker, but strong in spirit. He wears a yellow T-shirt as he stands close to a glass window, and has earphones plugged into his ears.

His fans on Twitter have reacted to the “happy” picture, lauding the positivity that the actor exudes.

Earlier this year, Irrfan left fans, friends and colleagues shocked by informing them via social media that his life had been shaken up by a “rare disease” and that he was “fighting for choices”.

A few days later, he said he has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour. He is currently in London.

Last month, Irrfan penned a heartfelt note about how life-changing the disease has been for him, and how it has made him realise “how you are just a cork floating in the ocean with unpredictable currents”.

The actor has been promoting his forthcoming film “Karwaan” by posting the film’s songs on his Twitter page. The film is releasing on August 3.

Shadab Khan speaks for ‘right to education’ through ‘Delhi 47 KM’

Mumbai– Filmmaker Shadab Khan says he has tried to convey the importance of right to education through his upcoming film “Delhi 47 KM”.

“‘Delhi 47 KM’ has many layers and one of them is ‘right to education’. In the film, we have shown that how a child named Mintoo is deprived off his education and forced into trading of arms by his father because the father is convinced that education will not do any good to him.

“Through my film, I want to tell the audience that it is really important to stop the abuse and they should stand for their rights at the right time as it can save them from falling further,” Khan said in an interview here.

On the need to provide equal opportunities to common citizen of the country, he said: “I think ‘Be equal to all and privilege to none’ — that should be the idea to take the country forward. We as a society have not been completely successful to give education to the poor class.

“If authorities can’t give equal facilities to everyone, then at least they should provide proper education to every single child in India and that should be our top agenda.”

“Delhi 47 KM” is a story about a region which is merely 47 km away from the Indian capital and in that region, there are dealing of drugs, illegal weapons, exploitation of children and prostitution.

The film is produced by Khan, along with Jigar Rawal, Sachin Saxena and Rajneesh Dubey.

Written and directed by Khan, and presented by CineCloud Films and Asma Ali Shaikh, “Delhi 47 KM” will hit theatres on July 20. (IANS)
