Deepika, Ranveer’s trolling after ‘Koffee With Karan’ episode ‘angered’ KJo

Mumbai– Bollywood producer-director Karan Johar, who hosts the streaming chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’, expressed his anger at the trolling that actress Deepika Padukone and her husband Ranveer Singh were subjected to after the first episode of the streaming chat show’s 8th season.

The recent episode of the show saw actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Arjun Kapoor gracing the couch as they spoke about a lot of things.

During the episode, KJo spoke about social media trolling and addressed the first episode of the season.

He said: “I felt that it was one of the most honest episodes and the most heartfelt episodes I did with Deepika and Ranveer. I think all three kind of came clean on so much of our emotional heft, so many of our feelings. And then there was a ridiculous kind of after effect. I just want to put it out there that the reaction angered me. I thought it was one of our best episodes.”

Talking about Deepika and Ranveer, he shared: “They were outstandingly honest. They were earnest. They spoke so much. They shared so much. They were so gracious. And then you’re f****** talking about some nonsense. I am like, ‘What do you know about somebody else’s personal life and marriage?’ Tu apne ghar pe dekh na (Look at what’s happening at your own home) is what I wanted to tell them. I wanted to show them my f****** middle finger! I am like, you know, just shut up.”

‘Koffee with Karan’ Season 8 streams on Disney+ Hotstar.

Nehha Pendse: In a space where I don’t feel need to be a lead

Mumbai– Known for her work in ‘May I come in Madam’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai’, among others, Nehha Pendse shared she is currently in a space where she doesn’t feel the need to be a lead required in each and every frame of the show.

In the discussion about the challenges faced by actors in finding personal time, Nehha expressed: “As actors, it becomes very difficult for us to carve out time for ourselves, especially depending on the demands of our character.”

“I am content as long as I can manage to set aside two-four hours daily for myself amidst my work. ‘May I Come In Madam’ allows me that flexibility, and I would gladly take on a show like this every year. However, it doesn’t mean that I won’t consider doing mainstream television shows again, but perhaps not at this moment,” she said.

The ‘Hasratein’ actress further said she is currently in a space where she doesn’t feel the need to be a lead required in each and every frame of the show.

“It becomes a bit challenging because, as our profession demands, we must adhere to the time constraints. Yet, at the moment, I’m in a happy space, and I believe ‘Time is important but time is not limited.’ Maybe, when I’m ready, I’ll find a role that perfectly aligns with my schedule. Destiny plays a significant role, and I trust that everything has its right time, whether it’s a show or a character,” added Nehha.

‘May I Come in Madam’ airs on Star Bharat.

Ayushmann said: “Professionally, 2023 was very special and it gave me a lot of love and respect. To be awarded by the prestigious TIME Magazine again for my cinematic choices was really humbling. I proudly represented India and Indian cinema globally at an event that the entire world watched. For me, that’s a massive personal milestone.”

“As an Indian, I felt a lot of joy that our culture and our cinema is making its presence felt loudly and is being celebrated in every corner of the world. To be recognised by TIME twice in three years is an unbelievable feeling for me. It is stuff that dreams are made of.”

For Ayushmann, 2023 was perfect because he again delivered ‘Dream Girl 2’.

He says: “I have always tried to do my bit to give back and use my voice to support the rights of children in particular. It was amazing to be appointed as the UNICEF National Ambassador this year and grow within this organisation that is aiding and transforming the lives of millions worldwide.”

Despite, all the success that the year presented to Ayushmann, he also suffered a big personal loss. He lost his father, a void that he feels he will never be able to fill.

He said: “2023 has given me a mixed bag of emotions honestly. Personally, I have suffered great loss. I lost my father, we all lost our reason to smile. We had to hold each other to soak in that sinking, empty feeling and tide over insurmountable sorrow.” (IANS)
