It is my prerogative as a director to take final call on every aspect of film, says Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai– Actor turned filmmaker Kangana Ranaut has reacted to allegations levelled against her by her co-actress of ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’, Mishti Chakraborty, by saying that it’s her prerogative as director to take the final call about every aspect of a film.

Mishti Chakraborty, who plays the role of Kashibai in ‘Manikarnika…’ recently criticized Kangana for chopping off her role from the film.

Kangana said, “People who are saying that their role has been chopped off from the film, their scene and dialogues have been edited from the film, I just want to tell them that whatever place I have earned today in the film industry, I earned it on my own. It wasn’t inherited by my father. What will they get crying like this?”

Kangana also said that she has also gone through similar kind of circumstances during the initial phase of her acting career.

Daisy Shah to be showstopper at LFW

Mumbai– Actress Daisy Shah will be a showstopper at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2019 here.

Daisy will be seen flaunting a creation from the collection called ‘Northeast Breeze’ for designer Kanchan More Sabharwal on Saturday.

“This time I will be wearing a creation from a contemporary collection blended with a tint of tradition called ‘Northeast Breeze’ by Kanchan More Sabharwal. I’m excited to experiment with Indo-Western look on ramp for the first time,” Daisy told IANS.

The line showcases a melange of classic and contemporary creations with embellished and texture raw fabric. There are structured vests, tubes and backless tops, loose pants, skirts, maxi dresses and more.

Women are more than just pretty faces: Sneha Ullal

Mumbai– Actress Sneha Ullal, who has become the brand ambassador of a perfume brand, says that a woman has more substance and is not just a pretty face.

Talking about her image and adding value to any brand, Sneha told IANS here: “In 2019, I am going to re-brand myself completely. I want to establish the fact that women are more than just pretty faces. We, the modern women across the globe, are women of substance rather than just eye candy.

“The constant use of words like bombshell, element of glamour etc should be stopped because that is how we women are always slotted in the business,” added the “Lucky: No Time For Love” actress.

Sneha was announced as the global brand ambassador of the Middle Eastern perfume brand Fasih Perfumes launched in India on Friday.

Talking about this new role, she said: “I don’t intend to just remain a pretty face of their product and be in their ad films only, I intend to develop the brand here.”

Garima to make debut in supernatural space

Mumbai– “Nimki Mukhiya” actress Garima Vikrant Singh will enter the supernatural space with the TV show “Nazar”.

“I’m excited about making my debut in the supernatural genre. I’m playing a character named Panna. It’s a strong role with grey shades,” Garima said in a statement.

She is happy to reunite with producer Gul Khan.

“I had worked with Gul Khan earlier on a show called ‘Chaand Ke Paar Chalo’. I am happy to reunite with her,” she added.

Garima has also acted in shows like “Gustakh Dil” and “Choti Bahu”.

Krishna Sen biopic in the works

Mumbai– Actress Swara Bhasker will be making a biopic on Krishna Sen through her production banner Kahaaniwaaley.

Based on the true story of Krishna Sen alias Sweety Sen, the yet-untitled biopic revolves around a woman who pretended to be a man and married at least two women.

Swara has launched her production banner with her brother Ishan. She will also star in the film, read a statement.

While the project is under scripting stage, the makers have bought the rights. They plan to start the pre-production soon. The movie will go on floors this year itself.

“Having portrayed several unconventional, challenging and bold characters, we were looking for a story idea for Swara that would match the performance potential of her previous films. Krishna Sen’s real life story is the perfect choice to portray a mysterious real-life character as well as bring a strangely true story to life on the big screen,” Ishan said.

He added: “We want to explore the psychology of this really interesting character. Swara’s ‘bindaas’ attitude and the ability to take on challenging roles make her an ideal choice to play the title role in the biopic.”

Working with Madhuri, Anil together is a dream: Riteish

Mumbia– Actor Riteish Deshmukh says it was a dream for him to work with actors Madhuri Dixit Nene and Anil Kapoor together.

Riteish will be seen sharing screen space with the two veteran actors for the first time in the forthcoming movie “Total Dhamaal”.

The “Housefull” actor posted a selfie on Twitter with the two stars on Friday and captioned it: “Smiles say it all… It was my dream to work Madhuri Dixit Nene (and) Anil Kapoor… But getting to work with both of them in the same film, that is a dream. Love them both.”

“Total Dhamaal” is the third film in the comedy entertainer franchise “Dhamaal”. The second was “Double Dhamaal”. It is directed by Inder Kumar.

The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi. It is jointly produced by Inder Kumar along with Ashok Thakeria and Ajay Devgn.

Riteish also has two more films in his kitty — “Marjaavaan” and “Housefull 4”.

Really liked concept of ‘Hone De Ishq Shuru,’ says Mishti Chakraborty

Mumbai– Actress Mishti Chakraborty who is excited with the release of her new music video titled ‘Hone De Ishq Shuru’, has said that she really liked concept and lyrics of the song that’s the reason why she decided to be a part of it.

Mishti Chakraborty was interacting with the media at ‘Hone De Ishq Shuru’ song launch along with her co-actor Ranbeeir Kalsi, director Raajeev Walia and producers Dhavan Kodrani and Kamlesh Thakkar on Thursday in Mumbai.

‘Hone De Ishq Shuru’ song beautifully showcases the journey of a newly-wed couple where the girl is trying to forget her bitter past and fall in love all over again with her husband.

When asked what made her to be part of the song, she said, “I really like concept and lyrics of this song. I feel this song has a very heart-touching story so, that’s the reason why I decided to be a part of this song.”

Sharing her experience while shooting for the song, Mishti said, “It’s a beautifully written and beautifully composed song. I had great experience shooting this song with such a wonderful team starting from producers, director and the actors. It was very homely environment while shooting the song and it felt like I am on a vacation so, I had lots of fun doing this song.” (IANS)
