Kajol has a question for ’90’s people’ Ajay, SRK

Mumbai– Actress Kajol on Thursday shared a throwback photograph of herself from the sets of her 1997 film “Ishq” and posed a question to her friends Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla and her husband Ajay Devgn.

In the still, Kajol can be seen applying a lip liner as her make-up artist holds the mirror for her.

“Throwback to ‘Ishq’… Big phones, sitting on set all day because we had no vans and the rooms were too far away to keep going to and we still worked 14 hours heat rain or shine… and looked good. All nineties people agree? What say Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla,” Kajol captioned the image posted on Instagram.

On the work front, Kajol was last seen in “Helicopter Eela”. She will reportedly be seen in the upcoming drama film “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior”.

Priyanka, Deepika win Instagrammers of the Year

With 39 million followers, a global fan base, and many international projects, Bollywood diva, Priyanka emerged as the ‘Most Followed Account’ this year.

Star cricketer Virat Kohli has emerged as the most ‘Engaged Account of the Year’. He provides a sneak peak to the locker room drama, to his gruelling training sessions or an off-field selfie with his wife.

As for Deepika, her impromptu boomerangs at the Cannes Film Festival, flamboyant Instagram stories, slo-mo videos while catching a flight or an ‘Ask Me Anything’ sessions with fans, has won her the ‘Storyteller of the Year’ honour.

I’d love to do a proper action film: Rajkummar Rao

New Delhi– Actor Rajkummar Rao has displayed his versatility across genres, but a high-octane action drama is something that’s on his wishlist.

“I like to change things up fast and keep it fresh. I’d love to do a proper action film,” Rajkummar has said in the cover story of GQ India’s May 2019 issue.

“I just know I’ve got to listen to my gut, to act, to do. Do my bit, and do it for the right reasons,” added the “Newton” actor.

With unprecedented commercial success and critical acclaim, Rajkummar has cemented a unique position in the Indian entertainment business.

He believes that the years ahead are going to be challenging for creators of content to produce something exciting enough to keep the “audience returning to theatres”.

But he is glad about what the “digital boom” is doing for India’s entertainment industry.

“I feel very happy for Arjun Mathur. He’s such a good actor and now he’s done such brilliant work in ‘Made In Heaven’ and people are talking about him,” Rajkummar said, adding that he is pleased to see “all these phenomenal writers, directors and actors who have such fire and passion and talent…just doing more.”

Ankita Lokhande starts learning kathak

Mumbai– Actress Ankita Lokhande, who was last seen on-screen in the film “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”, has started learning kathak as she always wanted to learn the Indian classical dance form.

Ankita said in a statement: “I love dancing and I always wanted to learn an Indian classical dance form and what better than kathak? I love the way a dance form is mixed with storytelling. I have just started and there is a long way to go.”

Ankita made her debut in 2009 with TV’s long-running drama “Pavitra Rishta”. She also participated in celebrity dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa”.

‘One Day: Justice Delivered’ gets release date

Mumbai– Esha Gupta and Anupam Kher’s “One Day: Justice Delivered” will release on June 14.

Presented by D Neev Films, “One Day: Justice Delivered” is a Cinema Friday International production, read a statement.

Swati Singh, co-producer, said: “‘One Day…’ is a crime suspense drama with lots of twists and turns. All the actors have portrayed their characters very well. We are happy to announce that the movie is releasing on June 14, 2019 and really hope the audience would like it.”

Produced by Ketan Patel and Swati and directed by Ashok Nanda, the film also features Zarina Wahab, Kumud Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Rajesh Sharma and Deepshikha and Murali Sharma. It revolves around a crime branch special officer investigating the disappearances of high profile individuals.

Vicky Kaushal to trade secrets on small screen

Mumbai– Actors Vicky Kaushal is excited to be part of a chat show with his friend Taapsee Pannu, and says he is ready to trade some secrets.

He will appear with Taapsee on “BFFs with Vogue – Season 3”, which airs on Colors Infinity.

“I’m ready to trade secrets for spices to Neha Dhupia’s fiery questions and who better to be on the show with than Taapsee,” Vicky said in a statement.

“While working on ‘Manmarziyaan’, we really hit it off and have become buddies, having a great time whenever we meet. It is going to be no different, and I’m prepared for the show’s signature and whacky segments,” he said.

To this, Taapsee said: “There are a very few people in the industry who I actually can call friends in true meaning of the word and Vicky is one of them.

For actor Arjun Kapoor, humanity comes first

Mumbai– Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor who features in “Indias Most Wanted” — an upcoming film based on a real-life event of a terrorist — says terrorism has no religion and as an individual he puts humanity before religious identity.

When the teaser of the film was launched on April 16, it drew ire on social media for showing a faceless terrorist — referred to as India’s Osama — citing the Bhagavad Gita to explain the body and soul connection to justify human killing.

Asked about his reaction on the criticism, Arjun at the film’s trailer launch here on Thursday said, “I am not a Hindu. I am not a Muslim. I am an Indian. We are all Indians who are making this film.

“Therefore, we are putting our country and humanity before anything. This film is about people who don’t think about religion, caste and creed. I do not want to discuss that and give it importance. We would rather want to discuss the work of our intelligence bureau.”

Tough to find true friend in Bollywood: Parineeti

Mumbai– Actress Parineeti Chopra says it is difficult to find a true friend in Bollywood, and she is glad that she found one in actor Arjun Kapoor.

The actress opened up about her equation with Arjun in an episode of Voot’s “Feet Up with the Stars Season 2”, read a statement.

“We have a love-hate relationship,” Parineeti said when asked about her relationship with Arjun.

“It is difficult to find a true friend in Bollywood and he is definitely one,” she added.

On her off-screen chemistry with him, Parineeti said: “I don’t mind giving him my phone to take my picture but all I find in the gallery is 50-plus selfies and all Arjun’s.”

After working with Arjun in “Ishaqzaade” and “Namaste England”, Parineeti shares a close bond with him. They will also be seen together in “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar”.

Is she aware about Arjun’s rumoured wedding with Malaika Arora?

“I don’t know if he is getting married,” she said.

On the film front, Parineeti will be seen in the Hindi remake of the American film “The Girl On The Train”, “Jabariya Jodi” and the Saina Nehwal biopic. (IANS)
