Kajol named ambassador for Swachh Aadat Swachh Bharat
Mumbai– Actress Kajol, an active supporter of eradicating preventable deaths from hygiene-related issues, has become an advocacy ambassador for a Swachh Aadat Swachh Bharat initiative.
Kajol on Thurday took to Twitter to urge people to become “swachhta doot” and contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
“It’s a great honour to be chosen as the Advocacy Ambassador for the Swachh Aadat Swachh Bharat ‘haath muh bum’ initiative Hindustan Unilever. I urge people to become a Swachhta Doot and contribute to a better tomorrow,” Kajol tweeted.
Kajol’s husband and actor Ajay Devgn expressed his happiness over her achievement.
Always wanted to be performer: Isabelle Kaif
New Delhi– Actress Isabelle Kaif, who made her acting debut with “Dr. Cabbie” and has now been roped in as the face of cosmetic brand Lakme, joining the likes of Kareena Kapoor Khan, says she always wanted to be a performing artiste.
“I started dancing as a kid, so I always wanted to be a performing artiste. I always had that creative side. Acting came little later and it actually came when I saw dancing in the films. That’s when I knew that I always want to do this,” Isabelle told IANS on phone from Mumbai.
The younger sister of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has also done an acting course from New York.
“Dr. Cabbie”, a 2014 Canadian romantic comedy film, also starred Kunal Nayyar, Vinay Virmani, and Adrianne Palicki. The film is directed by Jean-François Pouliot and co-produced by Bollywood actor, Salman Khan.
As a face of Lakme, she is looking forward to make some runway appearances now.
“I am doing my first ad campaign with them, the fashion week with them, so can’t wait,” said Isabelle.
Industry’s influential people must support realistic cinema: Rahul Bhat
Mumbai– Actor Rahul Bhat, who is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film “Union Leader”, says influential people in the industry should support, appreciate and promote realistic cinema.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who directed Rahul’s previous film “Ugly” in 2014, tweeted praising “Union Leader” and his performance by saying: “You are totally reinventing yourself.”
Asked how it feels to receive such support from the industry, Rahul told media persons here on Thursday: “Directors like Anurag Kashyap, Prakash (Jha), Sudhir (Mishra)… They all like these kinds of films. This is realistic cinema. It’s very important that influential people in the industry support, appreciate and promote this kind of cinema. And I feel very happy about that.”
Having done films like “Ugly”, “Fitoor” and “Jai Gangaajal”, Rahul is entering into a different zone with “Union Leader”. Does it mark a new journey for him in the industry?
Rahul said: “I am very thankful that opportunities that are coming my way. This year looks very good. I have ‘Union Leader’ releasing on January 19, and then I have ‘DaasDev’ in March and probably ‘Chakki’ in June. There are more… I have five to six releases this year.”
Written, directed and produced by Sanjay Patel, “Union Leader” also features Tillotama Shome, Jayesh More, Samvedna Suwalka and Jay Vithlani. The film is releasing on January 19.
Rajkummar, Shraddha starrer titled ‘Stree’
Mumbai– The horror-comedy starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has been titled “Stree”.
Rajkummar on Thursday shared a photograph of the film’s clapboard.
He captioned it: “We have a title! Shoot starts on our horror-comedy ‘Stree’. Exciting schedule ahead! Shraddha Kapoor. Directed by Amar Kaushik, written by Raj and DK, Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Raj and DK.”
“Stree” will be backed by Maddock Films and is directed by Raj and DK, known for movies like “Shor in the City”, “Go Goa Gone”, “Happy Ending” and “A Gentleman”.
Other details of the film are still under wraps.
This will be the first time Rajkummar and Shraddha will be seen sharing screen space together. (IANS)
