Janhvi Kapoor Condemns Assault on Hospital Receptionist: ‘Nothing Excuses This’
MUMBAI– Actress Janhvi Kapoor has strongly condemned the viral video of a man violently attacking a hospital receptionist in Maharashtra, calling the act inexcusable and shameful.
Sharing her reaction on Instagram, the Mili and Ulajh star wrote: “Why does anyone think this behavior is okay? What makes him think he can raise his hand at someone like this? What kind of upbringing convinces you to do something like this without remorse, guilt, or basic humanity?”
She added, “Shame on us for not punishing such behavior more aggressively. Nothing excuses this.”
The accused, identified as Gokul Jha, allegedly assaulted a female receptionist at a private clinic in Kalyan after she refused to let him meet the doctor without an appointment. In the viral video, Jha is seen charging at the receptionist, kicking her, and dragging her by the hair as others tried to intervene.
Police have filed an FIR against Jha under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including assault and outraging a woman’s modesty.
A second CCTV video has since emerged showing the receptionist stepping out from behind her desk after Jha kicks it. She is seen slapping his sister-in-law during an argument. Authorities are reviewing all footage as the investigation continues.
