Gaming in India gaining exponential popularity: Hrithik Roshan
New Delhi– Actor Hrithik Roshan, who is excited about the launch of the third edition of the Dew Arena gaming championship, says such platforms are developing the e-sports culture in India. He also says that gaming in India is gaining an exponential popularity.
“Gaming in India is gaining exponential popularity and Dew Arena is a fantastic platform for budding gamers in the country. The championship celebrates the gaming community and is a powerful opportunity to develop the e-sports culture in India,” Hrithik told IANS.
Beverage brand Mountain Dew has kicked-off the third edition of the gaming championship. The championship takes the experience of gaming to the masses and a disruptive gaming truck will travel to 270 locations across 83 cities in 10 states.
It is divided over three phases and participants from across the country will be able to compete in both online and offline championship games.
The third edition of the championship will also be activating the mobile gaming championship.

Ajay, Ranbir not bothered about one hero, two hero film: Luv Ranjan
Mumbai– Director Luv Ranjan and producer Ankur Garg are excited to have Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn on board for their next project, and say the actors loved the script.
The film is all set to go on the floors next year and is being produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg of Luv Films.
“Luv Films is looking forward to this project. We do a lot of work with T-Series and will continue to do so. However, as far as Luv’s next with Ajay and Ranbir is concerned, it’s too early to talk about it. Discussions are on but nothing has been finalised yet,” Garg said in a statement to IANS.
Garg says they are elated to have Ranbir and Ajay on board.
Ranjan said: “When an actor is excited about their role and their character in the film – things like whether it’s a one hero or two hero film is immaterial. The fact is that both the actors found the script amazing.”
The film will bring back Ajay and Ranbir together on-screen after “Raajneeti”.
‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actor to star in pop video
Mumbai– “Tiger Zinda Hai” actor Paresh Pahuja will feature in the video of singer Akasas pop song titled “Thug Ranjha”.
The song’s video will release on Friday across Sony Music India’s YouTube channel.
“Paresh is totally my kind of a guy, extremely chivalrous and respectful of women. I am so happy that he agreed to be a part of this project of mine. I really hope my fans enjoy this song and the video,” Akasa said in a statement to IANS.
This will be Paresh’s debut in the pop music world.
Paresh said: “I knew I had to be part of ‘Thug Ranjha’ the very minute I heard it. And Akasa is like Shakira — dynamic voice, unmatchable dance moves and a deep beautiful soul.”
Written and composed by Vayu, the song talks about men who think the world revolves around them.
Salman’s Arms Act, poaching case hearing on July 17
Jodhpur– The District and Sessions Court here will hear the Kankani blackbuck poaching and Arms Act cases against Bollywood Salman Khan on July 17.
A hearing was held against Salman in the Arms Act case on Tuesday in the court of District and Sessions judge Chandra Kumar Sonagara. The court fixed July 17 as the next date of hearing.
Salman’s advocate Hastimal Saraswat submitted an application in the court, arguing that the Kankani blackbuck poaching case and Arms Act case should he heard together as they are both of the same nature and have same witnesses.
After his appeal, Sonagara fixed July 17 as the next date of hearing in both the cases.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate court had acquitted Salman in the Arms Act case on January 18, 2017 after giving him a benefit of doubt. However, the Rajasthan government, appealed in the District and Sessions court against the ruling.
Salman, with an expired licence, had allegedly carried and used firearms while poaching two blackbucks in village Kankani on October 1-2, 1998.
Just last month, Salman was convicted and given a five-year imprisonment on charges of killing two blackbucks. He spent two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail. He is currently out on bail.
Gulzar gets attached to another film on ‘Kabuliwala’
Mumbai– Veteran lyricist Gulzar, who had worked on the classic film “Kabuliwala”, has now penned lyrics for Danny Denzongpa-starrer “Bioscopewala”, which is an adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s short story “Kabuliwala”.
“Gulzar saab is very fond of Rabindranath Tagore’s work. About 15 years ago he had mentioned it to me that Tagore is the only one who writes favourable and apt stories for kids and families.
“Interestingly, Gulzar saab had started his career as an assistant to Bimal Roy when he was making ‘Kabuliwala’ with actor Balraj Sahni and he had penned songs for it,” Sunil Doshi, writer and producer of “Bioscopewala”, said in a statement.
When he approached Gulzar with the script of “Bioscopewala”, he immediately agreed to write songs for the film.
Director Deb Medhekar’s “Bioscopewala” also stars Geetanjali Thapa, Tisca Chopra and Adil Hussain.
The film will release on May 25.
Keith Sequeira enjoyed playing negative role
Mumbai– Actor and model Keith Sequeira says he thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of playing a negative role for the first time in a show.
He had entered the show “Udann” as a “bad boy”. He is now done shooting for it.
“My track in ‘Udann’ has come to an end like most cameos. Being a meanie is ‘just so good’. It’s a space that allows you to do so much more as an actor,” Keith said in a statement.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of playing a negative role for the first time and I am already in talks for a few projects. I hope to once again take on something new and challenging,” he added.
The actor is known for featuring in shows like “Dekho Magar Pyaar Se”, “Diya Aur Baati Hum” and “Bigg Boss”.
Working with Salman the best experience: Yogita
Mumbai–Newcomer Yogita Bihani says working with superstar Salman Khan has been the best experience of her life.
She had featured in the promo of the upcoming show “Dus Ka Dum” with Salman. And now, she has bagged a role in “Dil Hi To Hai”. She has also completed shooting for a commercial with Telugu star Nagarjuna.
“Though I have been trying my luck in acting for some time, scoring such big opportunities in a month has put me on cloud nine. Working with Salman has been the best experience of my life till date, which every actor wishes for at least once in their career,” Yogita said in a statement.
“Then being chosen to play the female lead for Ekta Kapoor’s show and now I am in seventh heaven after working with superstar Nagarjuna….Looking back at this month, all my efforts have paid off really well,” she added.

Rajkummar honoured to work for environmental issues
Mumbai– Actor Rajkummar Rao says he is honoured to work with UN Environment and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for the cause ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.
“Such an honour to be working with UN Environment and Ministry of Environment for a very important cause ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. Asif Bhamla and Bhamla Foundation Initiative,” Rajkummar tweeted on Wednesday.
On the acting front, Rajkummar currently has four films in his kitty — “Fanne Khan”, “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga”, “Stree” and “Mental Hai Kya”. (IANS)
