Anupam Kher is my guru: Esha Gupta
Mumbai– Bollywood actress Esha Gupta, who has clocked seven years in the film industry and has finished shooting her upcoming film “One Day” alongside Anupam Kher, says she felt privileged to work with the veteran talent as she took her acting training from him.
“Anupam Kher Sir is my guru because I have done my acting training from his school Actor Prepares. We all know that he is a delight as an actor, but he is also a great teacher,” Esha told IANS here.
“I am so happy that I got a chance to work with him. When it comes to this film ‘One Day’, life has taken a full circle because I am acting opposite my guru… It is so amazing to see how even after so many films and that huge body of work, he surrenders to the director and constantly talks on how to do a scene differently. Yes, it is indeed very special.”
Having starter her career in 2012 in Bollywood with the film “Jannat 2”, Esha has appeared in several films like “Raaz 3D”, “Rustom”, “Commando 2” and “Baadshaho” and has observed a positive change in the entertainment industry in the way women are treated.
While looking good and staying slim are factors that have remained constant in the glamour industry, Esha strongly believes in fitness and body positivity.
She said: “I surely encourage different body types… One could be wide, skinny, plump. But for me, it is important to stay fit. In the name of accepting different body types, we should not forget health and fitness.
Priyanka congratulates Meghan, Prince Harry
New York– The MET Gala may have been keeping Priyanka Chopra Jonas busy, but the actress ensured she gave an Instagram shoutout on the arrival of her friend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first baby.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed a son on Monday.
Priyanka posted a screenshot of the royals’ announcement and wrote, “Congratulations M & H.” She also added a pink heart emoji on the graphic.
“Quantico” star Priyanka and former “Suits” actress Meghan have been friends for long. Priyanka was also a guest at Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in May last year.
Meghan could not attend Priyanka’s wedding in India, and neither could Priyanka attend the royal’s baby shower.
Deepika Padukone turns Barbie for MET Gala 2019
New York– Actress Deepika Padukone made waves at the pink carpet of the MET Gala 2019 by taking on a Barbie avatar in a Zac Posen gown.
Deepika, who gained global recognition with “XXX: Return of Xander Cage” in 2017, stunned one and all when she stepped out in an all pink strapless gown at The Metropolitan Museum of Art here on Monday evening.
She opted for Zac Posen’s metallic pink lurex jacquard gown embellished with 3D printed pieces meant to resemble embroidery.
In sync with this year’s theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, Deepika stepped out in an exaggerated version of Barbie. She added drama to her look with a voluminous high ponytail adding a little sparkle with the bejewelled pink hair band, dramatic burgundy lips and purple eye make-up
She completed her look with a pair of diamond earrings and a statement cuff.
This is Deepika’s third outing at the event. She made her debut at the gala in 2017 in a simple white slip-dress by Tommy Hilfiger. Last year, the actress wore an elegant red Prabal Gurung gown with red heels.
Arjun Kapoor turns entrepreneur, to empower women
Mumbai– Actor Arjun Kapoor has turned co-investor for a home food delivery company Foodcloud.in, which will empowering women.
“My aim at investing in Foodcloud.in is to contribute towards a larger societal purpose — of empowering the homemakers to contribute towards their family income,” Arjun said in a statement.
“It not only boosts household income leading to a better lifestyle but also drives gender parity for the woman at home or in her neighbourhood. To me, that’s a tiny step towards parity, towards empowerment in society at large,” added the “Ki & Ka” actor, who has always supported equality for women.

Connected with ‘Bala’ script instantly, says Yami
Mumbai– Actress Yami Gautam says she instantly connected with the script of the upcoming film “Bala” starring Ayushmann Khurrana.
“‘Bala’ was a script that I instantly connected with. The team working on the film is immensely talented and especially after ‘Uri’ for me, it’s another great project to be a part of. 2019 has been immensely rewarding with the super success of ‘Uri’ and while it’s still playing in parts of the country, it’s great to be going on floors with another interesting story,” Yami said in a statement.
“Bala” marks Yami’s second association with the film’s producer Dinesh Vijan after “Badlapur”.
The film is about a man who is balding prematurely and how he deals with it. It also stars Bhumi Pednekar. While Bhumi plays a dusky small town educated woman, Yami essays the role of a supermodel based in Lucknow.
The film is being directed by Amar Kaushik. “Bala” also features Saurabh Shukla, Jaaved Jaaferi and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
Isha Ambani looks like a dream at MET Gala 2019
New York– Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani turned many heads with her breathtaking look at the Met Gala 2019.
For the gala, Isha opted for a beautiful soft lilac creation by Prabal Gurung, the designer who styled actress Deepika Padukone’s look for last year’s Met Gala.
Going with this year’s Met Gala theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, Isha wore a haute couture gown with a plunging neckline, featuring feather all over the skirt and embellishments on torso of the gown, which also featured a gorgeous long train.
She completed her princess-like look with a diamond neck piece and drop earrings.
The designer had previously given a sneak-peak to Isha’s look few hours before the celebrations on Instagram.
He shared a photograph of the gown and captioned it: “A lilac love story for a cherished muse. Guess who wants to capture the carpet in this number?”
The theme for this year’s gala was inspired by a seminal 1964 essay by Susan Sontag in which she describes the phenomenon as something that shan’t be talked about: “To talk about Camp is therefore to betray it”.

Mumbai– Actor Varun Dhawan, who worked with “World Of Dance” winners The Kings during “ABCD 2”, has congratulated the hip-hop dance crew from Mumbai, with a special message.
The Kings has won a cash prize of $1 million in the American reality television show “World of Dance”.
Varun tweeted on Tuesday: “This is really a matter of pride. Have worked with these boys during ‘ABCD 2’, have seen the amount of hard work they put in. For me, they were always world champions (and) now the world knows it.”
The “Dilwale” star played the character of the dance group’s choreographer Suresh Mukund in “ABCD 2”, which was directed by Remo D’Souza.
The film revolved around childhood friends Suresh and Vinnie who want to become successful dancers. To fulfil their dreams, they form a dance group with their friends and compete in a hip-hop contest in Las Vegas.
Several other Bollywood stars including names like Amitabh Bachchan, A.R. Rahman, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kubbra Sait, Vicky Kaushal, Vishal Dadlani, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh praised the team for their win.
Zuber K. Khan likes to do his own stunts
Mumbai– As a superhuman on TV, actor Zuber K. Khan needs to do Wire Fu, jumping and backflips. He says he prefers to perform his own stunts rather than taking the help of a stuntman.
“I have been training in martial arts for over two years and the experience has helped me a lot in performing stunts and the action sequences in the show ‘Manmohini’,” Zuber said in a statement.
“I personally don’t prefer involving a stuntman and do my own stunts because it gives me an adrenaline rush and the confidence to perform better every time. I am essaying the character of Vanraj who is half-human and half-lion,” he added about his role in the fantasy drama show.
He has also taken horse riding classes and various dance forms.
“These help me in performing hard-hitting action sequences. It feels great when you put all your training to good use,” said Zuber.

Akasa collaborates with ‘dream duo’ Vishal-Shekhar
New Delhi– Singer Akasa has teamed up with composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani for a wedding song in Salman Khan-starrer “Bharat”. She says the composers are a “dream duo” to work with.
Composed by Vishal-Shekhar, the song titled “Aithey aa” is a celebratory track set in the 1980s.
“This is so huge that I’m still absorbing it. Vishal-Shekhar are a dream duo to work with and to top it all, it stars Salman and Katrina Kaif,” Akasa said in a statement.
“The song is so much fun. It was a blast dubbing it. Can’t wait for everybody to hear it,” added the Sony Music artiste, known for tracks like “Kheech meri photo” and “Thug Ranjha”.
The song’s video will have Katrina and Salman recreating a scene picturised on the actor and Madhuri Dixit Nene in “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” but with reversed gender roles. (IANS)
