‘Simmba’ will be blockbuster: Deepika

Mumbai– Actress Deepika Padukone, who just got married to long time boyfriend actor Ranveer Singh has said her husband’s forthcoming film “Simmba” will be a blockbuster.

“I think it has success written all over it. So, I think we are just focused on his film’s release and then, we will figure out honeymoon and birthday all after that,” said Deepika here at the Nicklodean Kids Choice Awards 2018 on Thursday.

At the trailer launch of “Simmba”, Ranveer had mentioned that he made Deepika watch few rushes of the film and she had complimented him saying “Hot lag raha hai”. On Thursday, reiterating that, Deepika said: “Yes I did when I watched the trailer. Of course, I loved it.”

“It’s a signature Rohit Shetty film and I have had the pleasure of working with him (in “Chennai Express”) in creating one of my most memorable characters. But having said that, “Simmba” is on its way to becoming a blockbuster.”

The film also features Sara Ali Khan, Ashutosh Rana and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles.

It scheduled for December 28 release.

Deepika to start film on Laxmi Agarwal early next year

Mumbai– Actress Deepika Padukone, who will next be seen on-screen playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in Meghna Gulzar’s yet untitled film, says they will start working on the film early next year.

Deepika was interacting with the media at Nicklodean Kids Choice Awards 2018 here on Thursday.

Laxmi was attacked at the age of 15 and she had to undergo several surgeries. Later, she took up the job of helping acid attack survivors and continues to promote campaigns to stop acid attacks.

She even received the US State Department’s International Women of Courage Award in 2014 from the former US First Lady Michelle Obama.

Deepika will also turn producer with the film.

“We will start working on the film early next year. I think it’s a story that needs to be told. It’s a very important story and it’s a true life incident, so hopefully good things will come out of it.”

Deepika, daughter of legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone, made her film debut with “Om Shanti Om”, and went on to become part of successful films like “Cocktail”, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, “Ram-Leela”, “Bajirao Mastani” and “Padmavat”.

She is considered one of the top actresses of the Hindi film industry.

Richa’s prior kabaddi experience comes in handy for ‘Panga’

Mumbai– Actress Richa Chadha, who has been training in kabaddi for Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s “Panga”, says she used to play the sport during her school days and that is coming in handy now.

“It has been amazing to work with professional players. We are working with a senior player and a senior coach sir too. They have been training us extensively in the sport. I have had a some practice of kabaddi back in school which has come in handy, it was something I enjoyed back then too in schools,” Richa said in a statement.

She finds the sport intensive and not easy, but the practice, she feels is worth it because of the impact it will create on the film.

“Ashwiny is very thorough. That makes the process even more fun, makes us want to put in that extra effort to look and be as authentic as we can to real life kabaddi players,” Richa added.

The actress recently wrapped up the first schedule of the film in Bhopal and is all geared up for shooting the next schedule which will happen in February as both she and Kangana Ranaut need to prepare for the role.

Alia feels shy talking about relationship with Ranbir

Mumbai– Actress Alia Bhatt says she feels shy to talk about her relationship with her “Brahamastra” co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

Alia interacted with the media at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2018 here on Thursday.

In a recent interview, Alia’s filmmaker father had said he feels happy that his daughter is in a relationship with Ranbir.

Asked how does she look at acceptance from her father on her relationship with Ranbir, Alia said: “Why are you going into future? You should stay in the present moment. To be honest, I don’t want to talk about it.

“I am feeling shy but I love my father and anything he says obviously means the world to me, but I don’t want to talk about this right now.”

On her upcoming line-up of films, Alia said: ‘’Kalank’ is releasing next year on April 18 and ‘Gully Boy’ is releasing on February 14. ‘Gully Boy’ has been selected at Berlin Film Festival and ‘Brahmastra’ is releasing on Christmas, so what a fabulous next year it’s turning out for me.”

Yesha Rughani designs costume for on-screen wedding

Mumbai– Actress Yesha Rughani, who was a fashion stylist, has designed the wedding lehenga of her character and Raunak’s (actor Ssharad Malhotra) sherwani for the show “Musakaan”.

“When I got to know that new costumes were getting made, I just jokingly said ‘I want to design my own costumes’. And to my surprise, the producer agreed to it and allowed me to give my inputs. It feels great when I can put in my talents into my profession and get appreciated for that. I truly enjoyed the costume designing process,” Yesha said in a statement.

She had made the design sketch of the costumes and gave inputs for the colour combination and fabrics (art silk) to be used.

She also shared that she took the cue for the wedding Lehenga from actress Sonam Kapoor’s wedding lehenga.

The episode will air on Star Bharat next week.

‘Notebook’ is a beautiful, colourful love story: Zaheer Iqbal

Mumbai– Actor Zaheer Iqbal, who is making his Hindi film debut with the forthcoming film “Notebook”, says the Kashmir-set movie exudes happiness unlike other films with the sensitive region in the backdrop.

Zaheer was interacting with the media at Nicklodean Kids Choice Awards 2018 along with his co-star Pranutan Bahl here on Thursday.

“It’s a romantic love story and it is based in Kashmir. I think it’s a happy film. Earlier, dark films have been made with the backdrop of Kashmir, (and those) related to sensitive topics. But our film is not like that at all. It’s a very beautiful, happy and colourful love story,” Zaheer said.

His co-star Pranutan is the granddaughter of late veteran actress Nutan and daughter of actor Mohnish Bahl. She is making her debut along with Zaheer in “Notebook”.

She said: “I think it is a very unique love story and I can’t wait for the audience to see it. I am very excited for it and I am looking forward to the teaser, trailer, music launch and everything connected to the film.”

Shaad Randhawa to be seen in ‘Marjaavaan’

Mumbai– Actor Shaad Randhawa will soon be seen in director Milap Zaveris upcoming multi-starrer “Marjaavaan”.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with a good team. The film looks exciting and I am looking forward to starting the shoot,” Shaad said in a statement.

The film features Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Rakul Preet Singh and Tara Sutaria among others. Riteish will play a dwarf character in the film.

Shaad has earlier worked with Zaveri in “Raakh”, a short film. He started his career in Bollywood with the film “Woh Lamhe” in 2006, and has acted in films like “Aashiqui 2”, “Ek Villain”, “Mastizaade” and “Hate Story 4” to name a few.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani’s Emmay Entertainment, the film is slated to release on October 2 next year. (IANS)
