Deepika would love to venture into production

Mumbai– Actress Deepika Padukone says she would love to explore film production.

“I would love to. I want to set up a production house… To have a vision to see it being put together, to see it form a life of its own and like a child at some point of time you have to let it go as well.

“So it’s definitely fascinating and very exciting and definitely something I would explore getting into,” Deepika said in an interview to CNN-News18, said a statement.

The actress was last on-screen in “Padmaavat”.

Aditi Rao Hydari feted by Ficci

New Delhi– Actress Aditi Rao Hydari was on Friday feted with the Young Ficci Ladies Organisation (YFLO) Young Women Achievers Award 2017-18.

The event was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

“I’m honoured to receive this recognition before such esteemed dignitaries. I’ve always tried to follow my heart and today I’m glad where it has led me. I thank my fans and viewers for spoiling me with love. I thank all my directors for believing that I could do justice to their vision,” Aditi said in a statement.

The actress was last on-seen as Mehrunisa in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmaavat”. It also starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.

Other awardees at the event included Malaika Arora (Fashion), singer Ananya Birla was feted for her entrepreneurial skills and jewellery designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahani was honoured for her achievement in the field of design.

Account was hacked, says Kapil Sharma on offensive tweets

Mumbai– After a slew of offensive and abusive posts from his Twitter page left fans surprised on Friday, actor-comedian Kapil Sharma said his account had been hacked.

“Hi all, please ignore the previous offensive tweets as my account was hacked. Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Love and regards to all,” Kapil tweeted late in the afternoon.

Earlier, several tweets on his official Twitter handle, included one requesting the media to not make Salman Khan’s conviction news “negative”.

“He is a nice man and he will come out of it soon,” read one tweet.

A few posts addressed fake news. “Agar main prime minister hota to fake news banane walo ko faansi laga deta (If I was the Prime Minister, I would have hanged those who spread fake news).”

A few of the tweets had abusive language in Hindi. Some were also targeted at a journalist “who only spread(s) negativity about me for very little money”.

Tarun Khanna’s ‘money-minded’ role in ‘Mere Sai’

Mumbai– Actor Tarun Khanna, known for shows like “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” and “Chandragupta Maurya”, will play the role of a wealthy businessman in the “Mere Sai” show.

“My character in the show is called Ratnakar. He is a wealthy business-man and has returned to India from overseas. He is totally money-minded and will do anything to earn more money,” Tarun said in a statement.

“It’s about how his life transforms after an interaction with Sai Baba and becomes a devotee. I have worked on different mythological shows. This is the first time that I will be playing such a unique character on television.

“I am a devotee of Sai Baba and believe in his teachings of Shraddha (faith) and Saburi (patience), it’s an honour to be a part of this project,” added the “Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap” actor.

“Mere Sai” is aired on on Sony Entertainment Television.

Big B set to wrap up ‘Thugs of Hindostan’

Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is nearing the end of his shooting schedule for “Thugs of Hindostan”, which has been a strenuous project for him.

“The work pressure increased. Some issues arose and that did not allow me the liberty of getting out of ‘Russia’. Something that can easily come off and on because of the intricate prosthetic make-up for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ and the time it takes. So, look a bit Russian too with that woolly cap.

“But work on the ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ reaches an end soon like for me perhaps tomorrow then there are the promotions to do. Invent and write to execute them… it’s work and more work… and it should never stop,” he wrote.

The cine icon, 75, was geared up for “another rough day”, maybe the last for him on the film.

It was during the shoot of “Thugs of Hindostan” in Jodhpur when a team of doctors had to be flown in to check on Bachchan, who had been involved in some action scenes for the movie and was required to wear heavy costumes.

The film also stars Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif. It is scheduled for a Diwali 2018 release.

The Yash Raj Films production is being helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who directed Katrina and Aamir in “Dhoom: 3”. It is an adaptation of the 1839 novel “Confessions of a Thug”.

Amitabh has another film in his kitty — “102 Not Out”, which also stars veteran star Rishi Kapoor.

‘Baaghi 2’ rakes in Rs 112.85 crore in first week

Actors Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani’s latest release “Baaghi 2” has minted Rs 112.85 crore at the box office in the first week of its release.

The action entertainer minted Rs 7.95 crore on day seven, read a statement issued on behalf of the makers.

The Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios production also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Prateik Babbar, Deepak Dobriyal, Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj and Sunit Morarjee. It is directed by Ahmed Khan.

Schooling young lovers help strengthen Karan-Anusha bond

Mumbai– Actor Karan Kundra, all set to host the third season of “Love School”, says schooling youngsters on the show has helped strengthening his bond with his “lady luck” and co-host Anusha Dandekar.

Law should be same for all: Mika Singh

Mumbai– Singer Mika Singh has sided with superstar Salman Khan, who has been sentenced to a five-year jail term for blackbuck poaching in 1998. He said laws in the country should be same for everybody.

Singh, who has sung numbers like “Aaj ki party”, “Ready” and “440 Volt”, on Friday shared a clipping of a man getting beaten up by a group of men.

“I respect our legal system but law should be same for all. If Salman Khan can be convicted though he is celebrity, then such people who are assaulting a poor guy and making a video of their criminal act should also be punished… They are safe because they are not Salman Khan,” Singh captioned the image.

A Jodhpur Court on Thursday found Salman, 52, guilty under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 for killing two blackbucks, an endangered species, hunting of which is prohibited by law. The incident took place in Kankani village near Jodhpur on October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Bollywood film “Hum Saath Saath Hain”.

Divya Khosla Kumar to catwalk at menswear show

New Delhi– Actress-director Divya Khosla Kumar has been roped in to walk the ramp for designer Parul J. Maurya, who will showcase a menswear line at Vaunt International Fashioner Week.

The show, to be held at The Umrao Hotel here on Saturday, will see Divya flaunting a special outfit made for her as Maurya’s collection is for men.

“I am excited to walk the ramp for Parul J Maurya who is showcasing her menswear collection at Vaunt International Fashioner Week. I am so excited for the event and looking forward to being a part of it,” Divya said in a statement.

The designer will showcase ‘Traveller’, which signifies the new era of menswear and is for the modern age man who loves travelling, exploring, who is playful and free-spirited.

Inspired by the boho-traveller, the collection comprises of cotton drapes, Indo-western bomber jackets, sleek printed tuxedos, and knitted hoodies.

Anjali Anand excited to play mother on-screen

Mumbai– Actress Anjali Anand, known for starring in the show “Dhhai Kilo Prem”, is enjoying playing an “extremely challenging and fun” mother on the small screen.

Anjali’s character of Lovely Kaur is the wife of Sikander Singh Gill (Mohit Malik) and mother to their daughter, Amyra, in the show “Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala”.

“I am playing a negative for the first time along with a mother to an eight-year-old as well. I have a great equation with my on screen daughter. We have a good time playing on set, in between shots and have a lot of fun together,” Anjali said in a statement.

Is she okay playing a mother at this stage of her career?

Anjali said: “Character matters the most to me and this character is extremely challenging and fun at the same time.”
