Bhumi Pednekar Applauds UNDP India for Empowering Youth on Sustainability

Mumbai– Actress Bhumi Pednekar has commended UNDP India for its efforts to empower youth in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), calling the initiative a major step toward a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Pednekar, UNDP India’s National Advocate for the SDGs, said, “This initiative is a game-changer. Today’s youth are informed, passionate, and ready to build a better world. Through this platform, their energy can drive large-scale sustainable action.”

UNDP India has partnered with Collective Artists Network to increase youth engagement on issues like climate change, gender equality, poverty, and inclusive development.

Dr. Angela Lusigi, UNDP India’s Resident Representative, emphasized the impact of youth leadership: “Young people across India are not just demanding change — they’re leading it. This partnership helps amplify their voices from cities to villages.”

Collective Artists Network Co-founder Dhruv Chitgopekar added, “We believe storytelling can drive real change. With UNDP, we’re channeling youth influence toward a future built on purpose and equity.”

The first project under the partnership was a three-part digital docuseries with student community Under 25, highlighting inspiring young changemakers and reaching millions online. Actress Sanjana Sanghi, UNDP India Youth Champion, also supported the series.

Future plans include campaigns with OTT platforms, filmmakers, influencers, and brands to further promote the SDGs nationwide.

Payal Ghosh Recalls Sridevi’s Cosmetic Surgery Confession Amid Anti-Aging Concerns

Mumbai– In the wake of actress Shefali Jariwala’s tragic death, actress Payal Ghosh has shared a revealing memory of her brief encounter with late Bollywood legend Sridevi.

Payal Ghosh

Payal recounted a 2017 meeting at a clinic in Oshiwara, where Sridevi candidly admitted undergoing cosmetic surgeries due to her fear of aging. “It was a two-minute chat, but it stayed with me,” said Ghosh. “I asked her about her beauty secret, and she told me she had surgeries and even starved herself to stay slim. I was shocked.”

The conversation deeply impacted Ghosh, who said she stopped all skin treatments immediately afterward. “I didn’t want to go down that path,” she added.

Ghosh criticized the growing reliance on anti-aging procedures like Botox and fillers, blaming them for harming actors. “First it was Sridevi, now Shefali Jariwala — these treatments are taking lives. Life is more important than looks,” she said, urging others in the industry to avoid such practices.

Shefali Jariwala, known for her song Kaanta Laga, died on June 27. Reports suggest she had taken multiple medications, including anti-aging supplements. Authorities believe her blood pressure dropped after consuming them on an empty stomach, leading to cardiac arrest.
