National Awards validate my script choice: Ayushmann

Mumbai– Actor Ayushmann Khurrana says National Awards are a huge validation for his script choice and he only chooses those films he himself would love to watch at the theatres.

Ayushmann’s films “Vicky Donor”, “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” and “Badhaai Ho” received the prestigious award, while the actor achieved it for his performance in “Andhadhun”.

He says he is a seeker of good stories.

“Stories that move us, entertain us, spark a conversation. I love stories that people can relate to, are inspiring and makes us ponder. I have actively sought such amazing scripts and have been fortunate enough to find some of these brilliant gems in my career so far,” Ayushmann said.

The “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” star considers himself extremely lucky that four of his films have won National Awards.

“I have also bagged a National Award for Best Actor. The National Awards are a huge validation for my script sense because I only choose films that I would love to see in theatres,” he said.

Hrishikesh Mukherjee genre of films making a comeback: Yami

Mumbai– Actress Yami Gautam, who will next be seen in “Bala”, feels the Hrishikesh Mukherjee genre of films are making a comeback as the movies now are high on content and humour.

Yami Gautam

Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s films from the ’70s and ’80s were a big hit. As someone who has herself been a big fan of his movies like “Chupke Chupke” and “Golmaal”, Yami is surprised to note that the genre could be making an unlikely comeback in 2019 in a revamped manner.

“Because the content space is so vast, one can see different kinds of films working these days. It’s a good thing that no film comes with a guarantee of working perfectly. I do see great promise in the stories of regular people from regular lives. There’s a certain amount of magic and charm in them if told with wit,” Yami says.

In the upcoming Netflix series, Sobhita will be essaying the role of Isha Khanna, a spy.

Based on Bilal Siddiqui’s book “The Bard Of Blood”, the show is set against the backdrop of the Indian sub-continent. The multi-lingual series will tell the story of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand, who is recalled from his new life as a professor in Panchgani to save his country and long-lost love.

“My character tries very hard and goes out of her way to be accepted in that male-dominated world, but in the process of that she is so touching and the simple fact that there is a certain sensitivity I guess, that comes from being a woman which actually comes very handy. It’s almost like she nurtures a broken bond between these two guys and also witnesses herself evolve,” Sobhita said.

She is thrilled to be a part of the action-packed series. The actress added: “I started to enjoy action so much that I was almost jealous that the boys got to do more action than me.”

Will Salman push ‘Dabangg 3’ to Eid 2020?

Mumbai– If sources in the Salman Khan camp are to be believed, the superstar is now seriously thinking of postponing his home production “Dabangg 3” to Eid 2020. The film is all set for a December 20, 2019 release as of now.

With “Kick 2” producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala openly denying reports that his film will be ready for release on Eid next year, choices have gradually narrowed down for Salman when it comes to delivering fans the cinematic Eid treat he recently promised in a tweet.

“It is a serious thought, and one which ‘Dabangg 3’ director Prabhudheva has been asked to consider,” said the source.

For those who came in late, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Inshallah”, starring Salman with Alia Bhatt, was originally being lined up for Eid 2020. After the film was shelved, Salman sent out a cryptic tweet: “Itna mat sochna mere baare mein, Dil mein aata hoon.. aur Eid pe bhi (Don’t worry about me, I reside in your hearts.. and arrive on Eid, too).”

Sunny Deol shares tips for budding actors

Mumbai– Sunny Deol feels just learning dance and building muscles doesnt make you an actor. Acting is a lot more than that.

“Acting is not an easy profession. Although you don’t need certificates to enter this profession, you need to have the art (of acting) within you. These days, people build bodies and learn dancing. Those, however, are just part of your skills — that’s not acting. Acting is about determination, it is a dream and you have to be really passionate about movies. Only then can you start enacting,” the National Award-winning actor told IANS.

“Only having talent is not enough, you should be strong as a human being, learn to face the difficulties, and move ahead with honesty. That is important,” added Sunny, who impressed the nation with his acting skills in “Ghayal,” “Damini,” “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” “Border” among other films.

The “Ghayal Once Again” helmer is returning to direction with the romantic film “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas”, which also serves as a launchpad for his son Karan Deol. As the release date is nearing, the 62-year-old actor admits being nervous about whether the audience will like his son or not.

Here’s why Diljit Dosanjh does not sign too many films

New Delhi– It has been almost three years for Punjabi rockstar Diljit Dosanjh in Bollywood. He says the reason he does not do too many films is because he feels all of them does not “suit” him.

(There are offers where) The artist is big, the production is big and the director bigger, but ‘main awayin na nikal jaaun saste main’ (I would get a raw deal) ,” Diljit told IANS.

Now, the singer-actor is busy shooting for the Raj Mehta-directed “Good News”, a comic family drama co-starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani. In the film, Akshay and Kareena, and Diljit and Kiara play married couples trying for a baby.
