Ayushmann Khurrana heads for hometown Chandigarh to vote

Mumbai– Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who has been roped in by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to encourage young voters to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, will travel to his hometown Chandigarh to cast his vote on June 1.

“I completely believe in the fact that everyone must participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote. We must all contribute in choosing the leaders who would represent us in the Parliament for the next five years, thus participating in nation-building,” Ayushmann told IANS.

He said it is very important for each and every individual to vote.

The actor feels “honoured and humbled” that the Election Commission of India roped him in to encourage the youth of India to vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“We are a young nation and the youth must participate in how India shapes up in the next five years,” he said.

Ayushmann urged the people from Chandigarh to go out and vote.

“I am travelling all the way to my hometown Chandigarh to vote and I really urge the people from my city and places where the election is happening on June 1, to please reach the polling booths to cast their votes,” the actor added.

“Let’s all be the architects of our future and let us show the world the strength of our democracy.”

On the work front, Ayushmann will be seen alongside actress Sara Ali Khan in an action comedy, produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga. Directed by Aakash Kaushik, the project marks Ayushmann’s debut collaboration with Karan Johar.

Vidya Balan describes her tryst with reels on social media: ‘I am just having fun’

Mumbai– Acclaimed actress Vidya Balan has become a social media sensation thanks to her engaging “reels” on the platform, which she says she started making about two years ago and is having fun making them.

Talking about her tryst with making reels on social media and going viral with them, Vidya told IANS: “It has been about two years, and I was shooting in London for ‘Neeyat’, and I had a lot of time, and that’s why one day, I just decided that my manager had been telling me, ‘Why don’t we do reels’.”

After her first reel video went viral and received love from her fans, Vidya found herself hooked. An avid social media user, she consistently entertains her followers with her clips.

“I would do one reel in one or two months, and then she said we have the time to shoot a reel, and I was just having fun. After it went viral, I realised that I did what I enjoy, and people are also enjoying it. So, I started doing it regularly. I am just having fun, honestly,” said the actress, who boasts a following of over 9.4 million on Instagram.

Vidya was last seen on screen in the romantic comedy ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’, directed by Shirsha Guha. It also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

Vidya is reportedly set to return as the iconic Manjulika in the upcoming ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, which stars Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri.

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 1’, released in 2007, was directed by Priyadarshan and also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, and Vikram Gokhale.

The film was made on a small budget of Rs 32 crore, reportedly, but turned out to be the eighth-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2007, as it raked in Rs 82.837 crore worldwide, reportedly.

The second instalment, released in 2022, had a fresh star cast, with Kartik Aaryan in the title role. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film also stars Tabu, Kiara Advani, and Rajpal Yadav.

Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora ‘peacefully’ part ways after dating for almost five years

Mumbai– After dating for almost five years, actors Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have parted ways “peacefully” and are still “amicable”.

A source close to IANS confirmed that Malaika and Arjun, who started dating in 2018, have split.

“Going by Arjun’s body language and how he is right now, it has happened. They have been dating for so long; hence, it has been very peaceful, dignified, and respectful. Malaika and Arjun are still amicable with each other,” the source confirmed.

In 2018, rumours about the two dating began to circulate after they were seen together at a fashion show. The couple confirmed their relationship on Malaika’s 45th birthday.

After making it Instagram official, the two were often seen holidaying together, making appearances at events, and even spending time with each other’s families.

For Saiyami Kher, setting apart two hours for training is a commitment to self-improvement

Mumbai– Actress Saiyami Kher, who is preparing for the Ironman race in Berlin, shared that, amid the chaos of the shooting, taking out a few hours for training is a commitment to self-improvement.

The race will be held in the quaint town of Erkner, 30 minutes away from Berlin, on September 15. To prepare for Ironman, her workout regimen includes swimming, cycling, and running.

Saiyami said: “Sport has been my sanctuary, fostering not just physical prowess but also mental fortitude. Undertaking the Ironman has emerged as one of my most daunting endeavours, an introspective odyssey of self-confrontation.”

The actress added that it is a “relentless pursuit of personal growth, marked by incremental triumphs, the relentless pursuit of excellence, and the unearthing of one’s inner resilience.”

Saiyami, the niece of actress Tanvi Azmi, made her acting debut with the Telugu film ‘Rey’ in 2015. She debuted in Hindi cinema in 2016 with ‘Mirzya’ alongside Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

In 2018, she stepped into Marathi cinema with ‘Mauli’ starring Riteish Deshmukh. The actress was then seen in films such as ‘Choked’ and ‘Wild Dog’.

Saiyami has also worked in the web space with ‘Special OPS’ in 2020. She was later seen in the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ and ‘Faadu’. (IANS)
