Ayushmann: Never planned I’ll have hit comedy franchise in my filmography
Mumbai– Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is the only young actor to have a commercial comedy film franchise under his belt and it is something he had never planned.
Talking about the same Ayushmann shared: “I had never planned that I will have a hit comedy franchise in my filmography. This, honestly, has accidentally happened to me. As luck would have it, I have only scouted for disruptive projects that are entertaining and engaging to as many people as possible!”
“I chanced upon ‘Dream Girl’ franchise and it ticked all the right boxes for me because it is truly a break-out concept that hasn’t been explored by heroes of my generation,” he added.
Ayushmann said that he likes to always be original as an artiste and bring out of the box concepts to people.
The actor said: “You can’t get any more different than the Dream Girl franchise which is why I feel people have loved the first film so much and now the trailer reaction for Dream Girl 2 suggests that we are on the right track to deliver a solid entertainer to audiences.”
“Every promotional material of this franchise has been loved by people. So, I hope they truly love Dream Girl 2. We have worked hard to bring people an entertainer that should make them fall off their seats,” he added.
Preity unspools fond memories of Sussanne Khan: She would make best sandwiches
New Delhi– Actress Preity G Zinta went down the memory lane and recalled a vivid memory from the shoot of ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’.
The actress talked about Sussanne Khan, and how she used to make ‘best sandwiches’.
Preity has recently celebrated the 20 years of the cult science fiction film ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’, starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead.
The movie which released in 2003, revolved around Rohit (Hrithik), a developmentally disabled man who contacts an extraterrestrial being (Jaadoo) with his late father Sanjay’s (Rakesh Roshan) computer.
The film follows his relationship with Nisha (Preity), Rohit’s friend, who falls in love with him.
Reminiscing the memories from the shoot of the movie, Preity told IANS: “We were in Canada shooting for the songs, and Sussanne was also there. She would make the best sandwiches for us. She is a close friend of mine too. We would be sitting out there having these yummy sandwiches, we would stuff ourselves with these tasty treats. I am a big foodie, so that memory has me reminiscing.”
Sussanne is the former wife of Hrithik Roshan. The couple got married in 2000 and ended their marriage in 2013.
Further elaborating on the memories, Preity said: “Besides that, I think the shot that made it to the trailer where I flipped my hair and looked back. I remember we were driving, and I was so sleepy as it was an early morning shoot. We were all in the bus and suddenly Rakesh Sir said to Ravi (DOP), ‘Isn’t this a beautiful shot? Take it.’ So that was really spontaneous as the shot made it to the trailer unexpectedly!”
“That’s how films were made, and you know, it was part of being spontaneous. There were so many things, I remember being so tired sometimes, but always being happy, laughing and having fun. It was truly about friendship because my friends were all there, and I was just working with my friends,” shared the ‘Soldier’ fame actress.
‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ was re-released in theatres on August 4. Directed and Produced by Rakesh Roshan, the flick starred Rekha, Johnny Lever, Rajat Bedi, Prem Chopra and child artists Hansika Motwani, Anuj Pandit Sharma in pivotal roles.
On the work front, she was last seen in 2018 film ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’, which was an action comedy film starring Sunny Deol, Arshad Warsi, Ameesha Patel and Shreyas Talpade.
Arjun Kapoor’s mantra is ‘Life is short, make your weekends long’
New Delhi– Actor Arjun Kapoor took to social media and shared a photo dump giving us a glimpse of his long weekend.
Taking to Instagram, Arjun dropped a string of photos, wherein we can see Arjun, who is shirtless enjoying his meal, while he watches something on the screen.
The second picture shows him enjoying a swim in the pool, another photo shows the image of his lunch which is pasta.
Another photo shows him scrolling through his phone. He is wearing an olive green shirt, paired with black joggers and sunglasses.
There is also a cute picture of a dog, sunset, and Arjun working out in the gym.
He captioned the post as: “Life is short, make your weekends long… #longweekend #mood #photodump”.

Saiyami Kher says Yuvraj Singh’s story inspired her
New Delhi– Actress Saiyami Kher, who will be seen playing a paraplegic sportsperson in ‘Ghoomer’, has opened up about the preparation -both physical and mental, she went through in creating her character.
She revealed that one of the biggest inspirations was ace cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
The actress said that Indian batsman helped her prepare mentally for the role.
Talking about the same, Saiyami said: “For me ‘Ghoomer’ is a film about triumph. And Yuvraj’s career has been an inspiring triumph. A sports person does not just prepare physically but also mentally. I feel Yuvraj’s story has been a story that has inspired me and many like me.”
“To be at the peak of his career and then go through cancer and come back from there speaks volumes about his mental tenacity. Yuvi has known my love for cricket, I can’t wait for him to see it,” she added.
Written and directed by R Balki, the flick stars Abhishek Bachchan in the lead, along with Shabana Azmi, and Angad Bedi in the pivotal roles.
The story revolves around Anina (Saiyami), a young woman batting prodigy, who loses her right hand in an unfortunate accident on the eve of her international cricketing debut.
An unsympathetic, failed and frustrated cricketer enters her life, gives her a new dream and transforms her fate by the most innovative training, to make her play for the Indian cricket team again, as a bowler.
‘Ghoomer’ is the new style of bowling they invent to bamboozle the opposition.
It is inspired by the incredible achievement of Karoly Takacs, the achievements of special athletes, and who have achieved more than when they were called “normal”.
‘Ghoomer’ is set to release on August 18, in cinemas.
Sunny Leone reveals how a normal day looks for her
Mumbai– Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, who is also a mum-of-three, has revealed what a normal day in her life looks like and she says every single day is different for her.
Sunny, whose film Kennedy will be premiering at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, in a conversation with IANS, said: “Well, right before this interview I was in a meeting at my children’s school and then I was in an interview.”
“Then I will go pick them up and then do more work. Then I would go to another meeting. Then I would do more stuff with my kids… Every single day is very different. I am very thankful that I get to balance it all out with my family.”
What is the tough part of being an actor?
“I think the difficult thing that maybe some people are facing is maybe navigating through what is correct. What you should do and what you shouldn’t do and how jobs are acquired now versus some of the other methods that were used in the past that’s difficult.”
“I think social media and influencers have definitely changed the name of the game and how different celebrities function.I have always been a part of social media so that’s not like a huge.”
‘Kennedy’ is directed by Anurag Kashyap, it also stars Rahul Bhatt. The neo-noir thriller film marks the third collaboration of Kashyap and Bhat after ‘Ugly’ (2013) and ‘Dobaaraa’ (2022).
The film follows the story of an insomniac former cop, Kennedy, who has been presumed dead for years. ‘Kennedy’, an insomniac ex-police officer who operates secretly for the corrupt system, lives in different conditions and goes on a lookout for salvation.
‘Kennedy’ premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on May 24, 2023. It is also being premiered at 2023 Sydney Film Festival and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. (IANS)
