Anupam, SRK bond on Twitter over DDLJ

Mumbai– Veteran actor Anupam Kher and superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s jest over growing up on social media on Thursday reminded of the “cool” father-son relationship the two shared in the 1995 film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”.

Anupam tweeted a graphic from the film, where the two can be seen saying the famous line: “O Potchi, O Koka, O Bobi, O Lola.”

He captioned the clip: “Dear SRK. Suddenly missed you in New York. We have had some great times together. And then we all grew up! Love and prayers always.”

SRK replied: “Arre nahi Daddy Cool! ‘Grow up’ hon aapke dushman (may your enemies ‘grow up’). Hum dono ka dil to baccha haiji (we are young at heart). Come back home let’s start with snakes and ladders and we can move to making sand castles in the air. Miss you.”

On the work front, Anupam was last seen in “The Accidental Prime Minister”.

Shah Rukh is currently in China to attend the 9th Beijing International Film Festival. His film “Zero” is closing the festival.

Continue to be sensitive to #MeToo movement: Ajay

Mumbai– After being singled out for working with Alok Nath in “De De Pyaar De”, actor Ajay Devgn says replacing the disgraced actor would have been a monetary blow to the makers of the film.

“When the #MeToo movement happened, I along with many of my film industry colleagues categorically expressed that I respect every single woman at the workplace and I would not stand for any unfairness or atrocity against them. Nothing about my stand has changed,” Ajay said in an official statement.

“I reiterate I am extremely sensitive to the #MeToo movement. But when circumstances are beyond me, I don’t see why an attempt is being made to `single’ me out as being insensitive. This is untrue,” he said.

The statement has come after he was criticised by actress Tanushree Dutta and writer Vinta Nanda who alleged that Alok raped her. Tanushree called him “morally bankrupt and a spineless hypocrite”, and Vinta said she “did not expect anything” from him.

Putting the decision to retain Alok’s scenes in perspective, Ajay said, this film was supposed to be an October 2018 release, the shoot got over by September and the portions with Alok Nath were canned by August in Manali.

“The said portions were shot over 40 days across various sets and an outdoor location with a combination of over 10 actors. By the time the allegations surfaced (in October 2018) the actors in the film, including me, had already started work on other films.”

Also, it would be near impossible to get all the dates and combinations of actors in the film and attempt a re-shoot with some other actor, he added.

“It would also have been a huge monetary loss for producers. The decision to replace Alok Nath could never have been mine alone. In this case, I had to go with the joint decision of the unit. Not to forget, I could not have brought the entire combination of actors back or put up sets again for a 40-day re-shoot.” Also, it could have meant doubling of budget, which again wasn’t my call to make, he added.

‘Fuh se Fantasy’ is different concept: Anupriya

Mumbai– Actress Anupriya Goenka says “Fuh se Fantasy” comes with a unique subject, and she enjoyed working on a special music video for the web show.

“‘Fuh se Fantasy’ is a ‘hatke’ (unique) show with a hatke concept. I had a total blast shooting for the music video with my lovely co-stars Karan, Gaurav and Priya,” Anupriya said in a statement.

“I believe ‘Not Vanilla’ is a sweet twist to an unusual story and I thoroughly enjoyed essaying it as an actor. I can’t wait to binge watch it myself and witness audience reaction on it,” she added.

The makers of VOOT original’s “Fuh se Fantasy” have come out with a musical video featuring Karan Wahi, Gaurav Pandey, Priya Banerjee and Anupriya. Through a virtual reality set, the actors go on a joyful ride and groove to the beats of their fantasies.

On the music video, Priya said: “It was such an amazing time shooting for the music video for ‘Fuh se Fantasy’. Just like the series, it is all about the quirk in love, relations with a twist of adventure and well, fun and glamour. This is the first time something different has been done for a web series and I am glad to share the screen space with such a talented bunch of celebrities.”

Rasika enjoys process of working on improvised film

Mumbai– Rasika Dugal is having fun working on an improvised film with the working title “Fairy Folk”. The actress says the whole experience is “so crazy and beautifully illogical”.

An improvised film is a format wherein the director has an idea of the story but all the scenes and dialogues are mounted on the set while shooting. One cannot skip scenes in order to complete, but shoot each scene in one order.

“This film is the most fun experience I have had in a while. There are a million ways that a scene can go and so many different paths it can take before achieving what it is meant to,” Rasika said in a statement.

“There was no written dialogue in this film. I think improvised dialogue is so crazy and beautifully illogical — a quality which very few and extremely skilled writers are able to achieve with scripted lines. Also, it was a delight to play off actors who have an appetite for improvisation. I had to simply turn up on set and be open to having some fun,” she added.

The film, which also stars Rasika’s husband Mukul Chadda, is said to be about a couple living in Mumbai whose life is overturned by a series of events.

Nothing can bring you down unless you do: Amit Tandon

Mumbai– Actor-singer Amit Tandon, who has ventured into independent music by collaborating with international artistes, has gone through a tough time in his personal life for the last 10 months as his wife was imprisoned in Dubai. He says he never let the bad times affect his fighting spirit.

“I have understood a very important fact of life and that is, nothing can bring you down unless you bring yourself down. Being a single father to my daughter for 10 months, not being able to see my wife and not being able to handle the situation to help her… it was so tough,” Amit told IANS here.

“We went through financial losses as well. On the top of that, people whom we thought were our friends, actually disappeared when we needed their support. No, I will not take names to get into that negative space again, but I know that Karma will teach them the right lesson.

“I used to do boxing at one point of time and I was taught that it is not about how many times you are knocked down, but the number of times you get up and stand again. You don’t lose the game if you keep standing up… So, I never give up, never did,” added the artiste, whose song “Checkmate” was released on Thursday by Zee Music.
