Anupam met Govinda in London and shared a photograph on social media too.

“It was wonderful to bump into one of my favourite actors in London. The one and only Govinda! I have done number of films with him. ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ and ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’ are two of my favourites. There is no one who can match his spontaneity. Hero No. 1, superb actor, great dancer,” Anupam captioned the image.

The two have featured in films like “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”, “Aunty No. 1”, “Deewana Mastana” and “Hatya”.

Shekhar Kapur wants to direct Kamal Haasan

Mumbai– After working as an actor with Kamal Haasan in “Vishwaroopam 2”, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has expressed a desire to direct the star.

Kamal Haasan

“All the best Kamal Haasan for ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ and thank you for including me in the cast. Despite me being such an awkward actor. But I learnt so much from you on the sets. Next time I direct, and you act,” Kapur tweeted on Monday.

To this, Kamal, who has been busy with his political career, replied: “Thanks Shekhar Kapur. We have been planning that movie for nearly 35 years. We have to speed up or all we can do is a political documentary. In that case, I won’t have to act at all.”

Kamal has written, directed and produced “Vishwaroopam 2”, in which he also plays the lead role of a RAW agent.

The film, which has been delayed over multiple reasons for the past few years, is a sequel to the 2013 film “Vishwaroopam”.

Set for release on August 10, the movie has been simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil. A dubbed Telugu version will also come out.

Anupam Kher like father figure: ‘Naagin 3’ actor

New Delhi– “Naagin 3” actor Pearl V Puri, an alumnus of Anupam Kher’s acting school, says the veteran actor is like a father figure to him.

“‘Acting cannot be taught. It can only be learnt’. These words by Anupam Sir are engraved in my mind. He is an institution in himself. I have learnt a lot from there (Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares). He is a father figure for me,” Pearl told IANS.

He made his debut in 2011 with the show “Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat” and since then has featured in more TV projects like “Meri Saasu Maa” and “Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha”.

“God has been kind. It’s just the beginning of a journey and I have no complaints. I have been part of great shows and an amazing team keeps me going. Acting has been my passion and today I am getting to live my dream. I have no regrets and I am happy with the way things are panning out,” he said.

“Naagin 3” is his second show revolving around snakes. But he says he is not fascinated by snakes.

“But at the same time, there is nothing about them that’s unrealistic. For me, everything told by our ancestors is real. There are good and bad, ghost and God. I feel blessed by Lord Shiva and Hanuman. The story (of a show) is something that fascinates me and then I go ahead with it,” said Pearl.

Ekta Kapoor’s production “Naagin 3” has popular faces like Anita Hassanandani, Rakshanda Khan and Surbhi Jyoti. What made him take up a women-centric show?

“I think the world is dominated by women and they are and will always be superior. With ‘Naagin 3’, the story and the plot are the winner. It is an amalgamation of a hero, heroine and a villian and the show would be incomplete without any one of them. So every character is important and it’s not ideally a women-centric show,” said Pearl.

Pooja Bhatt upset with double standards on ‘Quantico’ row

Priyanka had apologized for an episode on the show, portraying Indian nationalists as terrorists who were trying to frame Pakistan in a terror plot.

“When Priyanka Chopra makes a mark for herself internationally, we claim her achievements as our own and then threaten to ban her films and make her apologize for a work of fiction that has been created by someone else. Can we please attempt to be larger than that?” Pooja tweeted on Monday.

In the episode, Priyanka, who plays Alex Parrish, is an anti-terrorist officer who plots a nuclear attack in Manhattan to frame Pakistan for it, just days before an India-Pakistan summit is to be held. The episode drew intense criticism from Indian fans.

After ABC issued an apology, Priyanka said sorry too.

“I’m extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of ‘Quantico’. That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologize. I’m a proud Indian and that will never change,” Priyanka had tweeted.

Sukhwinder, Monali to take their gigs to audience’s homes

Mumbai– Popular singers like Sukhwinder Singh, Neeti Mohan, Monali Thakur and Armaan Malik will sing to audiences in the comfort of their homes through radio.

After two editions, Radio City’s property “Aap Jahaan, Concert Wahaan” will soon return with another one.

“As much as singing at huge concerts gives me an incredible high, I’m equally pumped about singing to audiences in the comfort of their homes through radio. It’s like singing intimately to crores of people at the same time. I can’t contain my excitement for this initiative by Radio City and Canvas Talent,” Sukhwinder said in a statement.

Neeti says new formats in entertainment are making her more hopeful about the future of India’s entertainment industry.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of such an innovative concept. We need more of such game changers for people to engage more actively in entertainment and artistes to engage in newer ways with their fans,” she said.

Commenting on it, Anurag Rao, Director, Canvas Talent, said: “We are thrilled to launch season three with some of the best live music concerts.”

Ravi Dubey considers Big B, Irrfan his idols

Ravi is currently hosting game show “Sabse Smart Kaun?” He looks up to former “Mano Ya Na Mano” host Irrfan and Big Big, who has hosted several seasons of “Kaun Banega Crorepati”.

“I have always looked up to Amitabh Bachchan Sir and Irrfan Khan. They are an inspiration to me as an actor and now as a host,” Ravi said in a statement.

“I always try to bring in my own flavour but these two will always be my idols.”

“Sabse Smart Kaun?” is aired on Star Plus.

Since the release of the trailer on May 30, it has been viewed 38 million times on YouTube and 11 million on Facebook.

Janhvi Kapoor misses mom Sridevi at debut film’s trailer launch

Mumbai– Janhvi Kapoor reflected the excitement and nervousness of a Bollywood debutante at the trailer launch of her maiden movie “Dhadak” here on Monday, but she was emotional as she missed her mother, the late Sridevi’s presence at the special occasion.

“I definitely miss her today. The biggest and most helpful tip she has given me is to work hard and to feel every emotion,” Janhvi said.

The 21-year-old was accompanied by her father, producer Boney Kapoor, who has been her constant support after the sudden demise of Sridevi earlier this year in Dubai.

“Papa did not give me any acting tips, but love, encouragement and a lot of support. So I think that is more than enough,” she said.

Before the trailer launch, her step brother Arjun Kapoor — Boney’s son with the late Mona Kapoor — also shared words of encouragement for Janhvi.

The trailer launch of “Dhadak” was attended by the film’s producer Karan Johar, director Shashank Khaitan and lead actor Ishaan Khatter, who too is making his Bollywood debut with the project.

Janhvi said the first day shoot of the film was a lot of fun.

“We were not that nervous because Shashank had already created a very comfortable family environment. We had done a lot of reading and rehearsals before the shot, so things were easy and fun,” she said.

“Dhadak” is releasing on July 20. (IANS)
