Cannes: Anil lauds daughters’ ‘art with fashion’ strokes
Mumbai– Actor Anil Kapoor is a proud father as his daughters, actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and producer Rhea Kapoor, are creating waves at the 72nd edition of Cannes Film Festival. He said his daughters are creating art with fashion.
Anil on Wednesday took to social media and shared several looks put together by Rhea and flaunted by Sonam at the prestigious festival.
“Taking the world by storm, one outfit at a time! So proud of my girls for creating art with fashion! Sonam and Rhea. Love the looks and the brains behind them! Proud father moment,” he captioned the image.
Rhea has not only styled Sonam on several occasions, but also worked with her as a producer in films “Aisha”, “Khoobsurat” and “Veere Di Wedding”.
Sonam donned an ivory white Ralph & Russo tuxedo dress with a long train on her second day at the red carpet of the film festival, and wrote: “The French Riviera suits me.”
The actress’ first look at Cannes 2019 look was in a red dress by Valentino. Later, she transformed into a Modern Maharani for a Chopard party.
She also showcased a neon yellow gown by Ashi Studio. The flared off-shoulder gown was paired with matching stilettos.
Ananya, Shanaya wish bestie Suhana on birthday
Mumbai– As superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana turned 19 on Wednesday, her best friend and actress Ananya Panday shared a note on social media, calling her “littlest baby with the biggest heart”.
Ananya on Wednesday posted a photograph of herself along with Suhana and Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya in the popular “Charlie’s Angels” pose holding toy guns.
“Happiest birthday to my littlest baby with the biggest heart. We love you Sueeeee.. ‘Charlie’s Angels’… Major throwback,” she captioned the image.
Shanaya also shared a photograph with her two close friends and captioned it: “We love you Suhana”.
Shah Rukh and his producer wife Gauri Khan got married in 1991. They have a son Aryan, who was born in 1997. Suhana was born in 2000. The star couple became parents of their third child, a son named AbRam, who was born through surrogacy.
Varun Dhawan breaks down on ‘Street Dancer 3D’ set
Mumbai– Actor Varun Dhawan got emotional on the sets of “Street Dancer”. He broke down while performing for a sad number.
Varun uploaded a video on his Instagram Story. A crew member asked him: “VD, you cried?”
To that, the “Main Tera Hero” actor replied: “I got emotional today because I had to perform a sad song… I am better now.”
The 32-year-old actor also posted a series of photographs of himself along with Remo D’souza.
He captioned them: “Years of emotion is expressed in a single take. Give and take is the most fun part of the relationship between a director and actor.”
“Street Dance 3D” is a dance drama being directed by D’souza, who helmed “ABCD: Anybody Can Dance” and “ABCD 2”.
The film also features Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhudheva, Nora Fatehi and Aparshakti Khurana.
Ajay takes a dig at Tabu with throwback image
Mumbai– Actor Ajay Devgn took a dig at his “De De Pyaar De” co-star Tabu with a throwback image of the two from the film “Vijaypath”.
Ajay posted the image on Twitter. In the photograph, the “Singham” star can be seen sleeping with his mouth wide open while Tabu is sitting beside him, looking completely bored.
He captioned it: “Still haven’t figured if the reason to fall asleep was the puzzle or Tabu.”
The two are in costume for their song “Aayiye aapka intezaar tha” on the sets of their 1994 film. The number was sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhna Sargam.
Apart from “Vijaypath” and the latest “De De Pyaar De”, the actors have also worked in films like “Drishyam”, “Golmaal Again” and “Thakshak”.
Produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali, “De De Pyaar De” explores the relationship between an older man and a younger woman.
Aparshakti thrilled to be face of pop song
Mumbai– Actor Aparshakti Khurana is excited to be the face of the pop single “Tere do naina”, composed by Gourov-Roshin and sung by Ankit Tiwari.
“I am thrilled to be the face of the song that is melodic and reminds us of our loved one,” Aparshakti said in a statement.
The video of the song also features Akansha Ranjan.
“Tere do naina”, released by Sony Music on Wednesday, is a love song shot in Lucknow.
“The song has a melancholy ballad tune with lyrics that perfectly match. It was a great team to work with and I am sure this will be the love song for the monsoon,” said Ankit.
It is part of a three-song EP titled “Naina”.
While “Tere do naina” is sung by Ankit, “Kithe jave” has vocals by Sonu Nigam and Akasa. “Jindri” has been sung by Devender Pal Singh.
“We are glad that besides the film music that we’ve done, we’ve been given this massive opportunity to showcase another side of our art…the one that comes straight from the heart,” said Gourov-Roshin, knwon for their work in films like “Baaghi 2” and “Total Dhamaal”.

The fact that incredible talents like Sonu Nigam and Ankit Tiwari have agreed to be a part of their debut non-film EP, along with emerging talent like Akasa and Devender Pal Singh, shows the creative and commercial appeal of these songs”.
‘Bigg Boss 13’ set for a makeover?
Mumbai– “Bigg Boss 13” is still some months away, but the buzz around the changes one would get to see in the new season is gathering steam.
Superstar Salman Khan will reportedly return as the host of the Colors’ show in which contestants survive 100 days under the constant glare of multiple cameras.
But the grapevine has it that after the failure of the last season, which had a mix of celebrities and commoners as contestants, the show will have an all-celebrity line-up for the new season.
However, a source in the know of developments told IANS that a “mix” may be expected again.
Another source said that considering the show comes in September or October, it is too early to comment about any changes that may be incorporated.
Amidst a spate of names that are already doing the rounds as likely contestants is Reena Dwiwedi, the PWD officer who became an Internet sensation after her photograph went viral on the social media.
She has said she would love to participate in the next season of “Bigg Boss” if she gets an invitation.
“‘Bigg Boss’ would be a great opportunity if I get it,” she said.
Meanwhile, the location of the “Bigg Boss” house will change from Lonavala to Mumbai this time. It will be shot in Film City, Goregaon.
The Marathi version of the popular reality television show is also being shot in Film City.
Vir Das finds writing for movies challenging
Mumbai– Actor-stand up comedian Vir Das says writing for a film is more challenging that penning material for stand-up comedy.
Vir has been writing comedy for several years now. Last year, he had announced that he has also begun writing content for his own production ventures. Apart from the series “Hasmukh”, he is also writing for films.
“Film writing and scripting for that has been a challenge. It’s always good for me to delve into something new and this challenge has been just that,” Vir said in a statement.
“While it’s a process I have come to enjoy, I must accept that it’s way more difficult than writing material for comedy and stand-up. Film scripts have a lot of structure and writing within that can sometimes create its own set of challenges. However, I always like to take up a new challenge and overcome it, and this is no different,” he added.
The actor has featured in Bollywood films like “Badmaash Company” and “Go Goa Gone”.
Anita Raj, Avinesh Rekhi upbeat about ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’
Mumbai– Actors Anita Raj and Avinesh Rekhi have joined the ensemble cast of the upcoming television show “Choti Sarrdaarni”.
Anita will be seen playing the role of Kulwant Kaur, a widow, while Avinesh will essay the role of Sarabjit, who comes from the royal family of Punjab, in the show, read a statement.
Anita said: “Playing the role of Kulwant Kaur has helped me understand the strength women have. Her confident personality and honesty are respected by her entire village.
“Being a widow hasn’t changed things for her. She still is an independent woman who chose transportation as her primary business. Apart from being a businesswoman, she is also the sarpanch of the village, a role that defines her vigour and power to protect.”
The actress is known for playing Kusum in “Zara Si Zindagi” and Shobha in “Masterji”.
Avinesh said he can relate to the character of Sarabjit as he is also soft spoken, principled and gentle.
“My main reason for taking up this character was the strong story line which represents a mother’s strength and struggle to save her children from this ruthless world. Another reason is that for the first time as a lead I will be wearing a turban,” added Avinesh, who has previously featured in shows like “Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon” and “Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap”
