Big B relieved to be ‘finally away’ from prosthetics

Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Sujoy Ghosh’s “Badla”, is relieved to be finally away from prosthetics and heavy costumes.

Amitabh is currently shooting in Glasgow. He shared two photographs of himself dressed in a black suit on Twitter.

“Confined, conscious and content until, the film releases. This be the life of creativity . ‘Badla’ moves each day. Finally away from and distant from prosthetics and heavy costume armour!” Big B captioned the image.

The 75-year-old thespian, who has previously described prosthetic make-up as a “torture” on his blog.

The actor earlier donned prosthetic make-up to look like a 12-year-old boy suffering from a rare genetic disorder called progeria in the 2009 movie “Paa” and for his latest release “102 Not Out”.

On the work front, Big B has two more films in his kitty — “Thugs Of Hindostan” and “Brahmastra”.

“Badla” also stars Taapsee Pannu. This will be the second time that Amitabh and Taapsee will be seen sharing screen space again after “Pink”.

However this will be the fourth time Big B will be collaborating with Ghosh. The two have previously worked in films like “TE3N”, “Kahaani” and “Aladin”.

Rajkummar Rao wraps up ‘Fanne Khan’ shoot

Mumbai– Actor Rajkummar Rao has finished shooting for “Fanne Khan”, which also stars Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

“And it is a wrap on ‘Fanne Khan’ for me. Can’t wait to share our labour of love with you all on August 3. Trailer out soon. Thank you Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Atul Manjrekar and team for this beautiful journey,” Rajkummar tweeted on Tuesday.

“Fanne Khan” is the Hindi adaptation of the Dutch film “Everybody’s Famous”. It is produced by Mehra and directed by Manjrekar.

Rajkummar will also be seen in horror comedy “Stree”, “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” and “Mental Hai Kya”.

Lifetime experience essaying Bal Thackeray: Nawazuddin

Mumbai– On Shiv Sena Foundation Day on Tuesday, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who essays the political party’s late supremo Bal Thackeray in an upcoming biopic, says doing the movie is quite an experience.

Nawazuddin moved dates and schedules to be a part of “Thackeray”.

“Balasaheb Thackeray was a transparent personality who empowered the common man and it is a lifetime experience essaying him,” Nawazuddin said in a statement.

The actor, along with Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut and Shrikant Bhasi, Founder and Chairman of Carnival Group, spent time on the sets of the Raut’ers Entertainment’s movie on the eve of Shiv Sena Foundation Day.

Raut, who believes “Balasaheb made the common man into superman”, said that while director Abhijit Panse was scouting for the right actor, he always had Nawazuddin’s face in his mind.

“I knew Nawaz bhai was the right one. And the moment I set my eyes on him when he walked into our meeting room, he was locked in my head,” he said.

Bhasi said: “Balasaheb Thackeray is the tiger who took the nation by storm, a persona who no one can ever match. We are glad to be associated with ‘Thackeray’, a film that boasts of the penmanship of Sanjay Raut and the histrionics of Nawazuddin Siddiqui.”

Was particular about my skin even when I was not an actress: Kiara Advani

New Delhi– Actress Kiara Advani, who features in one of the segments of “Lust Stories” anthology, says that she was very particular about her skin and fitness even before entering the film industry.

“For me personally, it’s about taking care of myself. I think even if I wasn’t an actress I would be just as particular about my fitness regime and my skincare regime,” Kiara said in a statement to IANS.

“I believe good skin is very important, so using the right moisturiser and following a good skincare regime is very important. Just like following a good diet and having an exercise routine,” added the Pond’s brand ambassador.

So how she finds time to take care of her skin?

“It’s very important to take care of your skin, and no matter how busy you get, no matter what industry you work in, it’s something that we shouldn’t ignore. Good skin needs care and maintenance and it starts with basic cleansing and moisturizing, I ensure that my moisturiser has the essentials like Vitamin E and I prefer wearing something light and good for all seasons.” she said.

“Lust Stories”, an Indian anthology film, consists of four short film segments directed by four different directors: Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar.

Chitrangada Singh to endorse hosiery brand

Kolkata– Model and Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh has been roped in to endorse the fashionable female wear segment of hosiery brand Dollar Industries, it was announced on Monday.

Dollar Industries Managing Director Vinod Kumar Gupta said Chitrangada features in a new ad campaign, shot in Bangkok, that showcases products like leggings, capris and inner wears.

The company forayed into the fashionable female wear segment under the brand name Dollar Missy in 2014.

“She represents today’s elegant and vivacious woman who takes on the world, beaming with confidence. We have recently shot a new ad campaign with her where she showcases our product style with loads of panache,” said Gupta in a statement.

The company has four manufacturing units in Kolkata, Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Delhi and Ludhiana, and enjoys a 15 per cent market share in the branded hosiery segment in India.

It has recently started business in the African market with Nigeria to enhance export revenue. The company’s existing export markets are the Gulf, Middle East and Nepal.

Rapping is not taken seriously in India: Badshah

Mumbai– Rapper and music composer Badshah, who is excited about his new reality show “Dil Hai Hindustani 2”, says that rapping is not taken seriously in India as an art form.

Badshah was interacting with the media at the launch of Star Plus channel’s forthcoming reality show along with singer Sunidhi Chauhan on Monday.

Badshah, who has delivered some chart-busting rap songs like “Chull”, “Saturday Saturday” and most recent “Tareefan” is eager to spread awareness about rap as an art form.

Talking about it, he said: “Rapping along with dance and stand-up comedy is not taken seriously as an art form in India and this misconception should change.”

“That is one of the main reasons why I have chosen to be a judge on the show. But apart from that, I’m here to have fun as well, and have a better connection with the audience,” he added.

The rapper is also gearing up to produce Bollywood and Punjabi movies and also launching a web series soon through his production house.

Talking about the future of the digital platform, Badshah said: “I think it (digital media) is the future, so it’s very important for any production house right now to concentrate on digital media.”

Sunidhi and Badshah will be judging the second season of the reality show “Dil Hai Hindustani”, along with Bollywood singer and composer Pritam.

‘Panipat’ shoot to begin in November

Mumbai– Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker will begin filming his next period drama “Panipat” in November.

“Prep is on across all fronts. Filming begins in November. Excited,” Gowariker tweeted. The film features Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor.

Gowariker also cleared the air on rumours around the movie.

“Kiran Deohans was never considered for the cinematography of ‘Panipat’. My director of photography is C.K. Muraleedharan.”

“Panipat” will tell the story of what led to the third Battle of Panipat. It will be produced by Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Vision World. The film is slated to release on December 6, 2019. (IANS)
