Big B thanks fans for Diwali and Bhai Dooj wishes
Mumbai– Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan has thanked fans for their wishes on the festive occasions of Diwali and Bhai Dooj.
The megastar took to his blog to express gratitude to fans and wrote: “On the auspicious day of ‘bhai dooj’.. during the festival of Diwali .. another affection between brother and sister .. of protection love and prayer .. my deepest wishes and love .. to all brothers and sisters.”
He also revealed that he was at work despite all the festivity around. Fans were relieved knowing this, considering he was hospitalised a while back.
“At work in the midst of the love and greetings each hour on this festive season .. and so blessed to have the Ef with me in their concern and affection. I may not be able to return all your love and greetings , but be assured that you have all been read and with gratitude, send my wishes too ..More later ..My love and affection and my greetings.”
On the work front, Big B, who hosts “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, will next be seen in the movies “Bhramastra”, “Chehere”, “Gulabo Sitabo” and “Jhund”.
Rajkummar Rao, Ekta Kapoor groove to ‘Akhiyon se goli maare’
Mumbai– Diwali is over but it seems the festive fever still rages on for many people including celebrities, who continue to post celebratory videos and pictures on social media. Among the many videos still pouring in, a dance clip featuring actor Rajkummar Rao and producer Ekta Kapoor at the latter’s Diwali bash has been trending.
Ekta on Sunday hosted a star-studded Diwali bash in which Rajkummar marked his presence. Sharing a glimpse of their celebrations, Ekta took to Instagram and posted a video in which she, along with Rajkummar, is seen grooving to the Govinda-Raveena Tandon hit song “Akhiyon se goli maare”, from the 1998 film, “Dulhe Raja”.
“This had to be shared! I cannot dance but I guess Zumba and my partner in crime are helping! A Diwali get together ( Small one) turns into a floor burning night with my #lsd guy RajKummar ! #dancingsince2010,” Ekta captioned the video.
Rajkummar made his Bollywood debut with Ekta Kapoor’s production film “Ragini MMS”. He even recently featured in her film “Judgementall Hai Kya”.
Urvashi Rautela gets drink named after her at Goa club
Panaji– A club in Goa has introduced a strong zingy drink in the name of actress Urvashi Rautela.
The Urvashi Rautela Shot is inspired by her personality — “lover of excellent taste” and “life of the party”, according to club sources.
The club feels it is a great move that will help garner more attraction and give everyone a reason to visit the place because Urvashi enjoys a vibe of being funloving, sexy and life of every event, all of which fit in with the vibe of Goa.
“It’s really sweet gesture by the club to introduce a shot on my it makes me feel really nice about it hope the owners get the response they are looking out for,” said the actress.
Urvashi will next be seen in Anees Bazmee’s multistarrer comedy, “Pagalpanti”. The film stars Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D’Cruz, Kriti Kharbanda and Arshad Warsi.
Urvashi says this is the best phase of her life because she is finally getting the opportunity to be a part of different stories and projects in Bollywood.
Nia Sharma’s lehenga catches fire at Diwali party
Mumbai– Actress Nia Sharma’s glitzy silver lehenga caught fire at a Diwali party.
Nia took to Instagram stories to share details of her little mishap, revealing that her lehenga caught fire by a diya at the party. She did not sustain injuries thanks to the layers in her outfit.
She shared a photograph of the burnt ensemble and said that she is still unsure of how she was saved from injury.
The actress wrote: “The power of a diya. Caught fire in a second! I got saved by the layers in my outfit or some guards you and protects you.”
Nia was seen dancing at the party with singer Guru Randhawa. The bash was also attended by Mika Singh and Kapil Sharma. among others.
On the work front, Nia will next be seen in the fourth installment of Ekta Kapoor’s hit franchise, “Naagin”.
Ranveer Singh shaves off ’83’ moustache
Mumbai– Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has shaved off his signature “’83” moustache.
The actor took to Instagram on Monday night, where he shared his clean shaved look.
Ranveer captioned the image: “Ae Chikne”.
The photograph currently has 11,73,540 likes on the photo-sharing website.
Ranveer will be seen in filmmaker Kabir Khan’s “’83”.
Ranveer plays Kapil Dev, who led the underdog Indian cricket team to a famous victory against the mighty West Indies in the final of the 1983 World Cup.
“’83” also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Hardy Sandhu, and Chirag Patil among others. The film is co-produced by Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Maanvi Gagroo: Quality, quantity of web series in India improving
Mumbai– With the Critics’ Choice Awards in India including web series category, actress Maanvi Gagroo is happy. She has hailed the move, saying “it’s a cherry on top”.
“I have been following Film Critics’ Guild award since its inception, it is good to see upcoming artists receive recognition for their work and this year they are adding web series to their categories which is just amazing. The quality and quantity of web series in India has blown up in the last two years, we have seen some major path-breaking content being released. So it’s just a cherry on top and a really nice move by the creators of the FCG to be adding web series as a category in the awards,” Maanvi said.
Maanvi has featured in web shows like “Four More Shots Please!” and “Tripling”.
According to her, it is important to appreciate good content.
“I think it’s high time because there is a lot consumption of web series and digital content.. And there’s a lot great stuff happening. I do think we need to acknowledge good content no matter what medium it is. Only then we can have more such content and expect to be spoilt for choice in a good way. So, this is the best kind of encouragement,” she added.
So during the second edition, a panel of critics will review and award the web series, which has progressed in its field and contributed to the country’s entertainment sector.
Shreyas Talpade returns to direction with ‘SarCar Ki Seva Mei’
Mumbai– After making his directorial debut with “Poster Boys”, actor Shreyas Talpade is once again back to call the shots.
He will direct a movie titled “SarCar Ki Seva Mei”, which is based on a true event.
The film will go on floor in the first week of November and it will be shot all over India.
Apart from Shreyas, the film also features Shraddha Jaiswal, Sudhir Pandey, Chetna Pandey, Brijendra Kala and Sushil Singh.
“SarCar Ki Seva Mei” is a joint production venture between Hariharan Iyer’s Saish Venture Solutions Pvt Ltd and Raj Bhattacharya’s Aum Sai Raaj Films.
“We really liked the story that came to us through Raj Bhattacharya of Aum Sai Raaj Films. It appealed to us because of Bhattacharya’s genuinity and sincerity and the kind of vision is he has for his story. As we all know Bollywood is recognized, registered and identified as a structured industry, so we thought of venturing and exploring this field and we as a family have always loved films also and I personally am a movie buff. Hence getting into something that really interests me is always good for the business,” said Hariharan Iyer. (IANS)
