Big B starts shooting for ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ in Lucknow

Lucknow– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has started shooting for his upcoming film “Gulabo Sitabo”, directed by Shoojit Sircar, here.

“One done another begun. Travel, location change, look change, crew change, colleagues change, city change and story change. From Lucknow today ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ and the look? Well, what can I say,” Amitabh tweeted on Tuesday.

The 76-year-old has just wrapped up shooting for the thriller “Chehre”, which also features Emraan Hashmi.

“Gulabo Sitabo”, which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana, will release on April 24, 2020.

Written by Sircar’s frequent collaborator Juhi Chaturvedi of “Vicky Donor”, “Piku” and “October” fame, “Gulabo Sitabo” is produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.

This is the first time Ayushmann will be seen sharing screen with the cine icon.

‘Sooryavanshi’ will be life changing for Sikandar: Anupam

Mumbai– Veteran actor Anupam Kher visited his son Sikandar on the sets of “Sooryavanshi”, and said that the film will be life changing for him.

Anupam on Monday shared a photograph of Sikandar and him along with actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Rohit Shetty, whom the 64-year-old veteran described as his “favourite self made people”.

“Dear Sikandar! It was wonderful to see you working with two of my favourite self made people. Both Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar are prime examples of great success through hard work and discipline. ‘Sooryavanshi’ will be a life changing movie and an eternal life lesson for you,” he captioned the image.

“Sooryavanshi” is the fourth film of Shetty’s cop drama universe in which Akshay is essaying the role of Veer Suryavanshi, a character that was introduced as an anti-terrorist squad officer in the Ranveer Singh-starrer 2018 film “Simmba”.

The movie, which is scheduled to hit the screens on March 27, 2020, also stars Katrina Kaif and Gulshan Grover.

‘Lakshya’ clocks 15 years, Hrithik gets nostalgic

Mumbai– As “Lakshya” clocked 15 years of its release on Tuesday, its lead actor Hrithik Roshan said the film resonated with his phase of self discovery as an actor.

“A beautiful story of self discovery that touched my life in many ways. ‘Lakshya’ resonated with my phase of self discovery as an actor. It gave me a friendship of a decade and half with Farhan (Akhtar) and Ritesh (Sidhwani),” Hrithik tweeted.

Calling it a special movie, Hrithik added: “It blessed me with the overwhelming love from my audience. Here’s to 15 years Of ‘Lakshya’, a film that will always be very special.”

“Lakshya” is a 2004 Indian romantic war drama, directed by Farhan and produced by Ritesh. It also stars Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan.

Farhan also marked the occasion with a Twitter post: “Feels like yesterday.”

Hrithik plays the role of Lieutenant (later acting Captain) Karan Shergill, who develops from an aimless young man into an army officer. It is a coming-of-age story set against a fictionalized backdrop of the 1999 Kargil War.

My battle with obesity has been tough: Arjun Kapoor

Mumbai– Actor Arjun Kapoor has opened up about his struggles with obesity and says it has been a tough journey for him.

Arjun on Tuesday posted two photograph of himself on Instagram. He is seen working out.

Its caption read: “It has been a tough journey for me ever since I was a kid when it comes to my battle with obesity. Everyone has their own struggles. I have had and continue to have mine. But the whole point of life is that we fall, we get back up and try again. Efforts will pay off eventually if not today then in a week month or even a year.”

The 33-year-old actor says he started training in January and has managed to at least lay a foundation during his prep for his next “Panipat”.

“I vowed never to give up in the three years it took me to lose 50 kg when I was 20 years old and I sure as hell won’t be giving up and letting go now… keeping the belief is key, you gotta keep at it and one day you will reap the benefits,” he added.

Arjun is working out to be in shape for his next “Panipat”, a historical drama revolving around the Third Battle of Panipat.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, the film also stars Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt.

Salman takes his security team through ‘highs, lows’

Mumbai– Superstar Salman Khan takes his fitness seriously. He made sure his security team helps him do that too.

He shared a quirky video in which Salman is seen taking his security team go through “highs and lows” and how he makes them feel “secure” around him. The actor is seen doing leg presses, with his security personnels as weights.

“After experiencing the highs and lows, my security has finally realised how secure they are with me,” he captioned the video, where he was seen pushing his security staff up and down.

On the Bollywood front, Salman was just seen in “Bharat” alongside Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani. He will next be seen in “Dabangg 3” and “Inshallah”.

When Ranveer Singh hugged, consoled a Pakistan fan

London– Ranveer Singh’s on-field hug of Indian skipper Virat Kohli is not the only moment that created a social media frenzy. The Bollywood star also embraced a Pakistan fan and told him not be upset after his country’s team lost to India in a ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match in Manchester.

From making his commentary debut alongside cricket stars Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag to joining crowd and cheering for team India and taking selfies with the Indian players, Ranveer’s energetic and fun avatar at the Old Trafford stadium made the match even more special for the spectators.

The men in blue defeated Pakistan by 89 runs (by DLS method) on Sunday. After the match, a lot of Paksitani fans started criticising their team for poor performance. One disheartened fan grabbed Ranveer’s attention.

In a video that is doing the rounds on the Internet, Ranveer is seen hugging the Pakistan fan.

“Put it there, man, put it there. There’s always a next time! Don’t be disheartened. You played well. Boys are dedicated, committed, professionals and they will be back,” the actor said in the video.

The man in the video is London-based Aatif Nawaz. He tweeted: “Indian fans are nice. Thanks Ranveer,” he tweeted alongside the video.

On the work front, Ranveer is currently shooting for his film “’83” — based on India’s iconic win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

Sanjay Dutt dedicates ‘Baba’ to his late father

Mumbai– Actor Sanjay Dutt, who is venturing into Marathi cinema as a producer with “Baba”, has dedicated the film to his late father and veteran actor Sunil Dutt.

Sanjay on Tuesday took to social media to share a poster of his first Marathi production.

“Dedicating our first Marathi film ‘Baba’ to the person who remained steadfast in my life through everything! Love you dad,” Sanjay captioned the poster in which a young boy is seen sitting on the rear passenger seat of his father’s bicycle, against the backdrop of a farm.

“Baba” features Deepak Dobriyal, Nandita Dhuri Patkar and child artiste Aaryan Menghji in the pivotal roles, read a statement.

The film is co-produced under Sanjay’s banner Sanjay S Dutt Productions, along with Blue Mustang Creations. Directed by Raj R Gupta, “Baba” is scheduled for release on August 2.

Barkha Bisht excited about her first historical show

Mumbai– Actress Barkha Bisht Sengupta, who has been roped in to play Tarini in the ongoing TV show “Chandragupta Maurya”, says she is excited to experience the historical genre for the first time.

Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s historical series, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television, took a five-year leap into the future recently. Barkha will be seen playing the role of Dhananand’s (Sourabh Raaj Jain) long lost love interest in the show, read a statement.

“I am very excited to be a part of ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ as it will be my first historical show. I know Siddharth for a very long time and he is doing some great work, especially in the historical and mythological space. I never got a chance to work with him.

“When I got this opportunity to play the role of Tarini who is a love interest of Dhananand, I was quite enthralled. The complexity of my character attracted me, and it is one of the main reasons I opted for the show,” Barkha said.

The actress is known for her performance in TV shows like “Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam” and “Doli Saja Ke”. She was also a part of movies like “Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela” and “PM Narendra Modi”. (IANS)
