Alia clocks 30 mn Instagram followers, thanks fans

Mumbai– Actress Alia Bhatt has crossed over 30 million followers on Instagram.

Celebrating it and thanking her fans for making her reach the mark, Alia on Wednesday uploaded a special video on the photo-sharing app. The one minute-video gives a glimpse of her seven-year-long film journey.

Along with the video, she wrote: “It’s been a wonderful journey so far… but it’s just the beginning. 30 million.”

The 26-year-old made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with the film “Student of the Year”. Later, she featured in films such as “Highway”, “2 States”, “Udta Punjab” and “Dear Zindagi”. Her role of a spy in Meghna Gulzar’s “Raazi” helped her bag the Filmfare Award this year.

Priyanka makes husband groove to Kareena’s song

Miami– Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas brought her husband and pop singer Nick Jonas and his family together to show some dance moves on popular track “Tareefan”, picturised on Bollywood actresses, including Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Priyanka is in Miami on vacation with Nick, his brothers Kevin and Joe and the latter’s fiancee Sophie Turner. She is using the time off to introduce the world of Bollywood to her family. The actress shared a sneak peek from the vacation on her Instagram account.

On Tuesday, she posted a video with her family grooving to the tunes of Kareena and Sonam A Kapoor’s popular track “Tareefan” from the hit movie “Veere Di Wedding”.

“When Bollywood music kicks in,” Priyanka wrote, tagging Sonam and rapper Badshah.

In the video, Priyanka can be seen saying “yeah Bebo (Kareena’s nickname)”.

In fact, Nick was so impressed with the song, he commented: “My jam.”

Sonam also said “Waah PeeCee” with a heart emoji.

Amaal Mallik teams up with father, brother for song

Mumbai– Composer Amaal Mallik has collaborated with his father Dabboo Malik and brother Armaan Malik for a song titled “Chale aana” from the forthcoming movie “De De Pyaar De”.

Amaal recorded a 24-piece orchestra for “Chale aana”, sung by his younger brother Armaan.

The musicians have played for composers like R.D. Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin-Lalit, and also on Amaal’s father’s composition “Thoda sa pyaar hua hai”.

The song’s live arrangements were designed and conducted by Dabboo, and music arranger Prakash Peters.

“It was nostalgic as my father entered Yash Raj Studios, met all his musician friends after several years, it felt like the King has come back home,” Amaal said in a statement.

Malaika, Arjun set to get hitched on April 19?

Mumbai– Actors Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora will reportedly tie the knot on April 19.

According to the buzz, the rumoured couple will have a Christian wedding and the guest list include celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

Arjun and Malaika, spotted together multiple times, had kept mum on their relationship.

Talking about the rumours, Arjun had told IANS: “When there is something to talk about, you will all know.”

Malaika, ex-wife of actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, had denied the marriage rumours in one of the interviews saying it is all “media made”.

She never said that she was dating Arjun, but often spoke about the concept of finding love after divorce.

Big B whistles to make video of daughter’s catwalk

Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently left his stardom behind and acted like a typical excited father when his daughter Shweta hit the ramp in ace designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s creation, here.

In a video, which has gone viral, Amitabh is seen whistling at a paparazzi and asking him to move away to let him capture Shweta’s ramp walk. Big B and his wife and veteran actress Jaya Bachchan are also seen cheering Shweta.

After the gala, held last week, the “Pink” actor took to Instagram to share the photograph of Shweta’s ramp walk. Praising her, he wrote: “To the best always…tonight elegance, grace and dignity.”

Theatre won’t be threatened by other medium: Amol

Mumbai– On the occasion of the World Theatre Day on March 27, actor Amol Parashar aims to keep the theatre alive amid the rise of digital medium.

“Theatre will never be threatened by any other medium. Everybody involved with theatre at any level is motivated by the attachment they feel to the medium. There is no other motivation. That attachment will never fade away, not because of any other medium for sure,” Amol said in a statement.

Known for his role in the web show “TVF Tripling” and movies “Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year” and “Traffic”, Amol has acted in several plays.

He finds theatre as “a great learning medium for an actor as it gives you space to work on your body and voice, which are important tools in an actor’s armour.”

“The kind of experimentation and freedom that the medium gives to an actor is unmatched by any other medium,” Amol remarked.

Rani Mukerji commences shoot of ‘Mardaani 2’

Mumbai– Actress Rani Mukerji, who was last seen on the big screen in the 2018 film “Hichki”, is back on shoot mode. She has started shooting for the sequel to her 2014 hit film “Mardaani”.

Yash Raj Films on Wednesday announced that Rani is back on “Mardaani 2” sets.

“Rani Mukerji starts shooting for ‘Mardaani 2’,” read a post on the official Twitter page of Yash Raj Films.

The post also gave a glimpse of Rani’s look in the film. She is seen in an intense police officer look, wearing a white shirt paired with black jeans.

“Mardaani” featured Rani as a feisty senior inspector, Shivani Shivaji Roy, who took on the kingpin of a child trafficking racket played by actor Tahir Raj Bhasin.

Rani had earlier said: “Across the globe, people have given it a standing ovation. I think it has hit the right chord with everyone irrespective of the gender. The fact that we have tried to raise an awareness has been conquered. ‘Mardaani’ is and will always be extremely close to my heart.”

Aamir’s daughter Ira dating composer Mishaal?

Mumbai– Superstar Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan and music composer Mishaal Kirpalani have sparked dating rumours.

Going by a series of photographs posted by Ira on Instagram, it seems like the two are in love. They can be seen sharing smiles and hugs. In one image, he is kissing her on forehead.

“Hope your spring break was sunny and smiley as Mishaal’s, which of course, I piled onto,” she captioned the three photographs and ended the post with three heart emojis.

Mishaal, an artiste, producer and composer, has also shared several photographs with Ira on his social media. In one of the posts, he has even called her a “charmer”.

Ira is the younger daughter of Aamir’s two children with his first wife Reena Dutta. On Karan Johar’s chat show, Aamir had shared that Ira is keen on entering the film industry. (IANS)
