Mrunal learnt cryptography for ‘Pippa’, says ‘it was very immersive’
Mumbai– Actress Mrunal Thakur has delved deep into the world of cryptic language to bring authenticity to her role in streaming film ‘Pippa’, where she portrays a medical student who gets recruited to specialise in cryptography, adept at utilising this unique form of communication in defense operations.
She dedicated herself to mastering this skill set, often practicing with close friends, family, and teammates.
“I wanted to ensure that my portrayal of being a cryptographer was as accurate and convincing as possible,” shared Mrunal.
“Learning the intricacies of cryptography in relevance to a war was a fascinating journey, and it allowed me to immerse myself completely into the character’s world. The research team spent months getting every element right. I had to study actual symbols, signs, language and their meaning.”
“It was fascinating because it’s so far from a regular civilian life to know any of this. So for me as an actor, it was very immersive to delve into this world.”
The film is directed by the acclaimed Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Mrunal Thakur shares the screen alongside Ishaan Khatter and Priyanshu Painyuli.
KJo asks Kareena if Ameesha Patel is the reason she didn’t attend ‘Gadar 2’ success party
Mumbai– The upcoming episode of the popular streaming chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ will see Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan gracing the controversial couch — “controversial with a ‘K’” as Alia says in the promo.
Welcoming the divas on the couch, Karan Johar said: “One feels like my first born, the other feels like my spirit soul!”
The episode promises to be filled with many fun moments, at one point KJo asks Kareena why she didn’t attend the success party of the Sunny Deol-starrer mega blockbuster ‘Gadar 2’ to which Kareena asked: “Me?”
KJo then goes on to say: “(Is it) Because you and Ameesha Patel have a history?” Kareena tries to dodge the question saying: “What history?”
Karan explains: “Because you were earlier supposed to do ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’”.
Kareena exercises her right to remain silent as she categorically ignores Karan: “I’m ignoring as you all can see.”
Kareena was earlier a part of the Hrithik Roshan-starrer ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ but was replaced by Ameesha Patel.
Talking about how Karan Johar is everyone’s go to person, Alia Bhatt said: “Karan is either getting a call from Varun or Sid, they don’t even listen, they don’t even say hello!”
Scooping the gossip, Karan Johar asks: “Do you consider Deepika Padukone a competition?”
Full of sass, Kareena Kapoor Khan said: “I think this is Alia’s question for her rapid fire, not for me!”
‘Koffee with Karan’ streams on Disney+ Hotstar.
While Sushmita Sen was on 8-year hiatus: Sitting & thinking ‘I don’t like this…’
Mumbai– Actress Sushmita Sen has opened up on her eight-year hiatus, and shared how she was impressed by the content on the OTT platforms, adding how ‘Aarya’ actually happened.
For eight years, Sushmita explored different acting opportunities, hoping to find the perfect fit. None felt right until ‘Aarya’ came along, like the universe finally giving her the role she’d been waiting for.
The former Miss Universe’s character Aarya Sareen in the crime thriller ‘Aarya 3’ is a true powerhouse, with strength that could rival a tornado, and a life story that’s seen several twists.
Elaborating on this, Sushmita said: “I was in an eight-year hiatus, sitting there and thinking, ‘I don’t like this, I do not like that. By default of knowing what you do not want, what I do want was being created, and that is where the manifestation comes in.”
“I did not realise that the OTT space was creating content the way it is now. I had the initial taste of it very close to when I did Aarya. Until then, I was like, ‘the big screen, I will only work on the big screen,’ and then this happened. I was sitting there thinking, if they are making content like this, this is what I want,” she shared.
Sushmita added: “So, the platform then is not the key factor, the content is, the makers are, the team is. I started manifesting that and was waiting for something like this. It was author-backed, had a director like Ram Madhvani, a crew like this – this has been a God-gifted team for me to learn.”
Created and co-directed by Ram Madhvani and co-produced by Amita Madhavni, Ram Madhvani, Ram Madhvani Films and Endemol Shine India, ‘Aarya 3’ is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. (IANS)
