Aamir urges fans in China to watch Rani’s ‘Hichki’

Mumbai– Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who enjoys huge popularity in China, has urged his “friends” in the country to watch his friend Rani Mukerji’s “Hichki”, which is releasing there on Friday.

Aamir and Rani, who have starred together in “Ghulam” and “Talaash”, have been friends for long. Now that her “Hichki” is set to release in China, Aamir has come forward to promote the film.

“A very warm hello to all my friends in China. My friend Rani Mukerji an actress from India has done a film called ‘Hichki’, which I believe is releasing in China on October 12. Well, I want you to know that I have seen the film when it released here in India and it is a beautiful story and it’s a great film, with wonderful performances by Rani and all the kids in it,” Aamir said in a video uploaded on a Chinese social media platform.

He added: “It’s really heart-warming and uplifting film with a beautiful story… I hope that all of you will go and see the film and I hope that you enjoy it.”

Rani is currently in China to promote the movie, which has a progressive message of beating stereotypes. The promotions are happening across 5 cities in China — Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

In the movie, Rani essays Naina Mathur, a school teacher dealing with an involuntary nervous system disorder, Tourette Syndrome.

‘Kalank’ is going to be a wonderful film: Sonakshi Sinha

Mumbai– Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who is busy shooting for her forthcoming film “Kalank”, says that the Abhishek Verman directorial is going to be a wonderful film.

Sonakshi was interacting with the media at the launch of Yes Bank’s Football Legends Cup here on Tuesday.

Conceptualised by Karan Johar and his late father Yash Johar almost 15 years ago, “Kalank” is an epic drama set in the 1940s.

Talking about the film, Sonakshi said, “I am having great experience shooting that film. I think it’s going to be a wonderful film. I am playing a very different character and other actors who are working in it are also playing different character.”

“I think audience hasn’t seen the actors playing such kind of roles in their previous films so, it is very interesting.”

Sonakshi will also be seen in the recreated version of the iconic song “Mungda”, from the 1977 film “Inkaar” which was picturised on Helen and Amjad Khan in Indra Kumar’s upcoming film “Total Dhamaal.

Sonakshi showstopper for Nexa show at LMIFW

New Delhi– Actress Sonakshi Sinha will be the showstopper on Wednesday night for a show sponsored by Nexa at the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2019 (LMIFW SS’19).

Designers Ashish N Soni, Rajesh Pratap Singh and Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna will showcase their creations as a part of the show.

“Sonakshi is coming for the Nexa show at 9.30 p.m.,” Sunil Sethi, President of LMIFW’s organising body Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), told IANS.

The theme this year is a spectrum of hues comprising monochromes.

Other Bollywood celebrities who will attend the fashion week on Thursday are Diana Penty, Sophie Choudry and Sushmita Sen.

“They all are coming for one show that is titled ‘Lightness of Being’,” said a source.

Dilip Kumar may be discharged on Thursday

New Delhi– Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, who is recuperating in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital following recurrent episodes of pneumonia, may be discharged on Thursday afternoon, a family friend said.

Giving an update on the 95-year-old’s health, Faisal Farooqui, who tweets on behalf of the thespian, told IANS on the phone: “Dilip sir is better. He is recuperating. Doctor’s are expecting him to get discharged by tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.”

Dilip Kumar, one of India’s most iconic actors, was admitted to the Lilavati hospital on Monday.

The nonagenarian, whose last silver screen appearance was in “Qila” (1998), was also admitted to the hospital in September due to pneumonia.

Rishi Kapoor unveils reason behind his grey hair

Mumbai– Actor Rishi Kapoor, who is currently in the US for a medical treatment, said the reason behind his sudden visible grey hair is nothing but one of his upcoming untitled films.

The veteran actor tweeted on Tuesday night: “This is to dispel all notions and wrong speculations of my hair turning grey/white overnight. My hair was dyed by Avan Contractor for a film produced by Honey Trehan and Sony pictures directed by Hitesh Bhatia. The film is untitled. Trust this clears the air.”

He also shared a picture of the final look of the character and wrote: “This is the final look of the film. Sharma ji. All grey! Will revert to original hair colour soon.”

The actor, who recently lost his mother Krishna Raj Kapoor, left for his medical treatment on September 29.

Writing a note to his fans, the “102 Not Out” actor said: “Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years ‘plus’ of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!”

The actor was last seen on screen in a cameo on Nandita Das’ directorial “Manto”.

Sukhwinder Singh joins Bollywood Music Project line-up

Mumbai– Popular singer Sukhwinder has joined the line-up for the Hungama Bollywood Music Project 4.0.

Known for songs like “Chhaiya chhaiya”, “Jai ho”, “Gallan goodiyaan” and “Udi udi jaaye”, he will perform on Day 2 of the music fiesta presented by Skoda Auto.

The event, to be held October 20-21, will witness Amit Trivedi as the headliner along with performances by over 60 artistes, apart from games, jamming sessions and flea stalls.

Some of the other performers include Ajay-Atul, Amit Trivedi, Javed Ali and Benny Dayal. (IANS)
