Aamir Khan meets China’s film regulator official

Beijing– Bollywood actor Aamir Khan met a top official from China’s film regulator here last week and discussed cooperation between India and China in making films.

The actor is immensely popular in China for his movies like “Dangal”, “Secret Superstars” and “Three Idiots”, among others.

The Information Office of China’s State Council announced Aamir Khan’s meeting with Wang Xiaohui, Executive Vice Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director General of the State Film Administration on Tuesday.

The meeting was held on Friday.

Wang discussed the development of Chinese films and said he hoped that China and India could strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation, share excellent films, carry out in-depth cooperation in making films and encourage filmmakers of both sides to produce more quality films.

Mumbai– Megastar Amitabh Bachchan admires the efforts made by those who work behind the scenes.

Amitabh tweeted a photograph from the sets of “Kaun Banega Crorepati”.

He wrote: “The brilliance of all the lights in the world shall never be able to replace the hard and tireless work that those that labour behind the curtains to accomplish our efforts… They are the force that needs all credit and admiration.”

On the acting front, Big B will next be seen in “Thugs Of Hindostan” with superstar Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh.

Sonali finds a friend in wigmaker

Actress Sonali Bendre Behl, who is undergoing metastatic cancer treatment in New York, says she has found a friend in her wigmaker.

Sonali on Monday shared a photograph of herself sporting a wig.

“Sometimes, in the most unlikely of circumstances, you meet the most amazing people… someone who meets you as a stranger but very quickly becomes a friend. One such person is Bokhee, genius hairstylist and wigmaker,” she tweeted.

The actress has always remained positive in her outlook as she battles the serious ailment, with support from her family and friends.

Actor Ajaz Khan nabbed for possessing drugs

Mumbai– Bollywood actor Ajaz Khan has been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Navi Mumbai Police for alleged possession of banned drugs here.

He was arrested late Monday night, officials said here on Tuesday.

The controversial actor was arrested from a hotel room in Belapur with eight tablets of the prohibited ‘ecstasy’ tablets, which are popular in rave parties.

Ajaz, a former “Bigg Boss” contestant, will be produced before a court on Tuesday, said an official.

This is not Ajaz’s first brush with the law.

Two years ago, he was arrested and released on bail on charges of sending obscene pictures and lewd messages to a beautician who had offered him a business project proposal.

Television is my identity, says Sayantani Ghosh

New Delhi– Actress Sayantani Ghosh, who has been a part of the Indian television industry for more than a decade, is happy where she is and hasn’t yet planned a Bollywood foray.

“I belong to the TV industry. It is my identity. I did not join TV just to become one or two-show heroine… I can see myself working for small screen even at the age of 52, Sayantani told IANS during the promotions of her new mythological show “Karn Sangini” here.

While she doesn’t rule out a Bollywood innings, she says that for an actor the medium does not matter.

“Right now, I have not decided to make a foray into Bollywood. It happens organically and if it happens, of course I would love to do Hindi films. But right now my focus is on television and I want to give my 100 per cent to the current project.”

Jyoti Gauba to play Tejasswi’s on-screen mother

Mumbai– Actress Jyoti Gauba has been roped in to play Queen Shubra, who is the mother of Uruvi, portrayed by actress Tejasswi Prakash in the show “KarnSangini”.

“I said ‘yes’ to this role because initially she is portrayed as a caring mother and later, we will see a possessive side of her which is really interesting,” Jyoti said in a statement.

“Playing Uruvi’s mother is a lot of fun as Tejasswi is a cute girl on set whom I like to take care of,” she added.

Jyoti has featured in shows like “CID”, “Ek Hasina Thi” and “Kavach… Kaali Shaktiyon Se”.

Additi Gupta to make her debut in mystery genre

Mumbai– Actress Additi Gupta will make her debut in the mystery genre with the upcoming show “Kaal Bhairav Rahasya” season 2, which also stars actor Gautam Rode.

“My role in the show is completely different from the shows that I have done so far. It’s the first time that I’m doing a mystery show,” Additi said in a statement.

“I’m playing a girl of the current generation who can’t be fooled so easily. She is smart, funny and talkative. She is grounded as well,” added the “Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil” actress.

She has also featured in shows like “Qubool Hai” and “Ishqbaaaz”. (IANS)
