Janhvi, Ishaan begin ‘Dhadak’ journey

Mumbai– Filmmaker Karan Johar on Friday said that Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter and veteran actress Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor have embarked on their “Dhadak” journey.

Karan is backing the film, an adaptation of the acclaimed Marathi film “Sairat”, through his banner Dharma Productions.

“The journey of ‘Dhadak’ begins today! Janhvi and Ishaan, Shashank Khaitan (director of the film),” Karan tweeted on Friday.

Karan also shared an image in which the lead pair is seen sitting against the railing as they face their backs to the camera. Janhvi is wearing a vibrant pink hued ensemble and Ishaan in a blue kurta.

“Dhadak” is being shot in Udaipur as the film has Rajasthan as the backdrop. Sridevi has also joined Janhvi on the sets of her first movie.

While “Dhadak” will mark Janhvi’s foray into Bollywood, Ishaan is making his acting debut with Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s India-set movie “Beyond The Clouds”.

Ishaan’s brother and actor Shahid Kapoor? also took to Twitter to post: “…And when did he grow up. Didn’t even realise.”

“Dhadak” is scheduled to release in July next year.

Harrdy Sandhu’s ‘Naah’ most watched track in a day

Mumbai– Singer Harrdy Sandhu’s track “Naah”, which also features actress Nora Fatehi, has attracted more than 12 million eyeballs within 24 hours.

“Naah” became the most watched track worldwide beating singer Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” on YouTube, according to Kworb.net, an online portal that collects and analyses music data from around the world, read a statement.

“Can’t thank my fans enough for this. ‘Naah’ is now the world’s most viewed video in the last 24 hours. This is the super fan power. I love you the most,” said Sandhu.

“Naah” has received 12, 453, 496 views and earned 127, 562 likes. “Perfect”, on the hand, has been viewed 10, 013, 306 times and liked by 57, 105 music lovers. This is followed by “Echame la culpa” by Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato. It has got 9, 963, 637 views on YouTube.

Irrfan’s ‘Puzzle’ to have world premiere at Sundance film fest

Mumbai– The new year will begin on a high for actor Irrfan Khan, whose next international project “Puzzle” will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Irrfan is excited about it.

“This film is very close to my heart. When I read the script, I knew there is something really unusual and beautiful about the story and the characters,” he said in a statement.

He has described it as a story of a woman named Agnes, who is taken for granted as a suburban mother who discovers a passion for solving jigsaw puzzles which unexpectedly draws her into a new world – where her life unfolds in ways she could never have imagined.

“I am playing her new world,” Irrfan said, adding that he has been “grateful for amazing opportunities”.

“Puzzle”, directed by Marc Turtletaub is a change for Irrfan.

“I really wanted to break away from the studio films for a bit and do something more intimate. I am glad that I took this chance,” he added.

The 2018 Sundance Film Festival runs January 18-28.

I always wanted to be an athlete: Dolly Sohi

Mumbai– Actress Dolly Sohi says there was a time when she wanted to be an athlete.

She has starred in shows like “Kalash”, “Bhabhi” and “Peshwa Bajirao” but while growing up, her dreams were different.

“I always wanted to be an athlete in real life but I’m an actress now. I used to be one of the good players during my school days. I still play with my daughter and sisters. I’m glad that my show (‘Meri Durga’) will allow me to play the role of an athlete,” Dolly said in a statement.

“I’m loving the new look given to me for the show. Like an athlete, I have to don bob cut and wear sporty outfits. It’s really exciting. I feel like my look is inspired by the tomboy look of Kajol from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’,” she added. (IANS)
