Box-office needed ‘Toilet…’ to break free from constipation: Twinkle

Mumbai–Writer, film producer and former actress Twinkle Khanna has lauded her husband and National Award-winning actor Akshay Kumars latest entertainer “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, saying the Bollywood box-office needed it to break free from constipation.

“Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, which released last week, collected over Rs 13 crore on its opening day.

“So even the box office needed this Toilet eventually to break free from its constipation — ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Kath’. Hit Hit Hooray,” tweeted Twinkle, who is known on social media as Mrs Funnybones.

Twinkle’s post hinted at the lukewarm performance of films like “Jagga Jasoos” and superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jab Harry Met Sejal”.

“Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” is in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to improve sanitation conditions in the country, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.

It also features Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher in key roles.

He is going to be a part of the inaugural procession by singing the national anthem along with the players.

Talking about it, Sidharth said in a statement: “It is an immensely proud moment to be a part of the ceremony on Independence Day. Kabaddi is one sport which is gaining a lot of popularity amongst people and being able to watch them play live will be a thrilling experience.”

“I feel proud that the Indian sport is making its mark in the country and worldwide. I am looking forward to my visit to the heritage city of Gujarat.”

Cruise on Sunday was injured during a building-jumping stunt on the set of “Mission Impossible 6”. The actor was in London on Sunday when he attempted to leap from a rigging onto a building but he fell short of the mark and hit the building pretty hard.

Anil, who has worked with the Hollywood star in the 2011 film “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”, took to Twitter on Monday to laud Cruise’s will power.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Tom Cruise bounced right back up, dusted his jacket and shot for another eight hours! This man is unstoppable,” Anil tweeted.
