I’ve to do some manly roles: Ranbir Kapoor

Mumbai–Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen as a school boy in the forthcoming film “Jagga Jasoos”, says since he will turn 35 soon, he needs to do some “manly” roles from now on.

In the Anurag Basu directorial, Ranbir’s character studies in school and is in search of his missing father.

Talking about it, the “Wake Up Sid” star said in a statement: “It’s very important that every artiste keeps the child-like thing, but I think this is my last year. I can’t be a child again. I have to do some manly roles as I’m turning 35 this year. So this one’s the last or else I’ll keep performing coming-of-age in my every film.”

Disney and Pictureshuru Production’s “Jagga Jasoos” is set to release on July 14. It also stars Katrina Kaif.

Easy to romance Sidharth on-screen: Jacqueline

Mumbai–Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez says she had a great time working with her co-star Sidharth Malhotra in their upcoming film “A Gentleman” and was “super-easy” romancing him on-screen because of his energy.

At an informal chat of the cast and directors of the film with the media, Jacqueline, asked about working with Sidharth, said: “It was easy to romance Sidharth on-screen. It was super easy. I know I am an insanely happy person but the fact is we actors always get affected by each other’s energy. I am surrounded with good people so ya!”

Adding to that, Sidharth said: “Even I enjoyed romancing her on-screen. She is so energetic and I envy her at times that how could even after long schedule she could manage to stay so much full of energy.”

This is the first time the actress attempted action scenes and she is very excited about that.

“This is the first time I shoot with a real gun and it was quite an experience. I loved it! I always wanted to explore the action genres. But girls usually do not get the opportunity to dabble in it, thankfully in this film, my character has it all,” said Jacqueline.

“A Gentleman” is releasing on August 25.

Neeta Lulla roped in as costume designer for ‘Manikarnika…’

Mumbai– National Award winning designer Neeta Lulla has been roped in as the costume designer for Kangana Ranaut-starrer “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”.

Lulla has over 300 films to her credit with projects like “Jodha Akbar”, “Devdas” and “Mohenjo Daro” in a career spanning over three decades.

“It’s an honour to be associated with a film whose pivotal character has always been an inspiration to me and many other women across the world. Jhansi Ki Rani has been one of my favourite chapters in school and I’m quite excited to be working on my first woman-centric biopic,” Lulla said in a statement.

Talking about the collaboration, the film’s co-producer Kamal Jain said: “We are very excited to be working with someone as iconic as Neeta Lulla for a magnificent film like ours. Her repertoire will add great layering to every character and we are certain she will do full justice to the role.”

Directed by Krish, the film will also feature Ali Fazal, Irrfan Khan and Ankita Lokhande. “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” is scheduled to release in April next year.

I’m very proud of my choices: Bhumi Pednekar

New Delhi–She ventured into Bollywood with Yash Raj Films’ “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” in 2015, featured in director Zoya Akhtar’s short film and will soon be seen in “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” and “Shubh Mangal Savdhan”. Actress Bhumi Pednekar says she is proud of the choices she has made in her career.

“Everything that I have got so far has been because of my work in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. So, it will be very special for me and these were people I wanted to work with even before I did ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’…I have seen ‘Luck by Chance’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and I was like ‘I hope I get to work with such amazing names’,” Bhumi told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

“I keep re-checking with reality that ‘Oh my God is this really happening and am I really working with Zoya and Aanand sir?’,” added the 27-year-old.

The actress says “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, which also stars Akshay Kumar, is a big film for her.

“‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ and everything I am reading now and that are coming out… these are the names and people I always wanted to be associated with. I have a lot of gratitude and at the same time, I’m very proud of my choices,” she added.
