Jagran Film Festival introduces cash rewards for 8th edition
New Delhi–The 8th edition of Jagran Film Festival will not only be recognising contribution by filmmakers but also rewarding them in the form of cash prizes.
This is the first time that the festival organisers have introduced cash prize in various film categories, read a statement from the organisers.
The categories are Best Feature Film (International Competition for Feature Films) with cash prize of Rs 1,30,000; Jagran Shorts (International Competition for International Short Films) with prize Rs 65,000; Best Indian Feature Film with cash prize of Rs 2,00,000; Best Indian Film Director to be awarded with Rs 1,50,000; and Best Indian Debut Director to get Rs 1,00,000.
The films produced between August 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017 are eligible for all competitive sections and awards at the fest.
Other honours to be given away at the fest include Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Singer (Male and Female), Best Set Design, Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male and Female) and Best Costume Design.
SRK praises Kolkata Knight Riders for victory
Mumbai–Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has lauded cricketer Gautam Gambhir and his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
KKR beat Delhi Daredevils by four wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Monday.
Shah Rukh, who co-owns KKR, took to Twitter on Tuesday and wrote: “How fantastic was this win. Well done Gautam Gambhir Team KKR. Somebody is watching over us. Main bhi aa raha hoon (I am also coming).”
On the acting front, Shah Rukh, who was last seen on the silver screen in “Raees”, will next star in filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming project. The film, which is tentatively titled “The Ring”, also stars Anushka Sharma.
Akshay requests for contribution for army jawaans
Actor Akshay Kumar has requested people to pay homage to bravehearts, who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Akshay on Monday night took to Twitter, where he requested his fans and followers to make a contribution to the jawaans of the Indian Army.
“They die, so we might live…the least we can do is take care of their loved one’s. A sincere request, contribute now bharatkeveer.gov.in,” Akshay tweeted.
On the work front, Akshay, who has won his first National Film Award, is currently busy filming for “Padman” along with Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
He is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” along with “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” fame Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher.
Big B finds image of Katrina with daughter charming
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he finds the moment of his daughter Shweta Nanda Bachchan and actress Katrina Kaif captured in a photo filled with affection.
Amitabh on Monday night shared a photograph of the both from an event and captioned it: “I do not know why, but I find this picture of Katrina and Shweta at a recent event, most charming and filled with great affection!”
On the work front, Amitabh will next be seen sharing screen space with superstar Aamir Khan in the film “Thugs of Hindostan”.
Rishi Kapoor asks Kapil, Sunil to be together again
Mumbai–Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has asked comedians-actors Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover to work together again.
Rishi on Monday night took to Twitter, where he shared that there is a look-a-like of Kapil in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“IPL. There is a look-a-like of Kapil Sharma in the team of Sun Risers Hyderabad. Anyone finding Sunil Grover in any team? Mil jao yaaron (be together friends)!” Rishi tweeted.
Sunil was part of the hit ensemble of comedians on Kapil’s popular show “The Kapil Sharma Show”, until came the news that Kapil allegedly assaulted and abused him in an inebriated state while on a flight.
In response to Rishi, Sunil, who featured as Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi on the show, said: “Sir, I am not playing this season because I am retired, hurt. Best regards.”
