Berklee India Exchange Welcomes Anirudh Varma Collective for April Residency in Boston

BOSTON –This April, the Berklee India Exchange (BIX) will host the acclaimed Anirudh Varma Collective (AVC) for a special Explore Series residency, bringing a vibrant cross-cultural collaboration to the Berklee community.

Hailing from New Delhi, AVC will spend a week in Boston engaging in intensive artistic collaboration with students, faculty, and alumni at Berklee College of Music. The residency will culminate in a public event on Wednesday, April 8, featuring both an educational workshop and a live concert performance.

The evening will begin with a one-hour workshop from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., offering participants an in-depth exploration of Hindustani classical music. The session will highlight the genre’s historical roots while examining its evolution and contemporary applications in global music contexts.

Following the workshop, attendees can experience a 90-minute concert from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The performance will showcase the Anirudh Varma Collective in collaboration with members of the Berklee India Exchange community, blending traditional Indian sounds with modern musical innovation.

Berklee India Exchange, a global arts institute within Berklee College of Music, has spent the past 15 years advancing Indian and South Asian artistry through education, performance, and innovation. The organization is known for producing high-impact projects, including a Grammy-nominated album, and fostering international collaborations that support emerging artists.

Event tickets are available in multiple formats, including separate options for the workshop and concert, as well as a discounted combined ticket for attendees wishing to experience the full program.

Organizers say the residency reflects BIX’s ongoing mission to amplify South Asian voices in the global music landscape while creating meaningful opportunities for artistic exchange.

For those in Boston and beyond, the April 8 event offers a rare chance to witness a dynamic fusion of tradition and innovation on one stage.
