Badshah Says He’s “Ready for the Next Phase” After Song Controversy

MUMBAI — Rapper Badshah said he is “ready for the next phase” of his career after facing backlash over his recent song “Tateeree,” calling the past few weeks a challenging period both personally and professionally.
The artist, who had come under criticism for the song’s lyrics and visuals, had earlier issued a public apology on social media. The controversy was followed by additional attention online after alleged wedding photos of Badshah with Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi surfaced.
In a note shared on his Instagram Stories after a concert in London, Badshah reflected on the recent period, describing it as a test.
“I’ll be honest with you, these past few weeks tested me in ways I wasn’t fully prepared for. There’s a version of this life that looks perfect from the outside, and then there’s the reality of what you actually carry when the cameras are off. I’ve been sitting with a lot,” he wrote.
The rapper also thanked fans for their support, particularly during his London performance, which he described as a turning point.
“But London reminded me of something I needed to be reminded of. When I walked out on that O2 stage, the energy hit me before the sound did. The faces, the voices, the warmth in that arena. You flew in from different cities, different countries, different lives, and you showed up for this music, for me, like it meant something to you. That night I remembered who I am and what this is all for,” he said.
Ending on a positive note, Badshah said he is focused on new music and moving forward.
“I think I’m ready for the next phase. New music is on its way and I’m pouring everything into it. Thank you for holding me down even when I couldn’t say why I needed it,” he added.
The rapper has been in the spotlight in recent weeks, but his latest message suggests a renewed focus on his music and future projects. (Source: IANS)
